An incredible drive from Grand Junction CO to Milstate State Park UT

Our sunrise this morning at  Milstate State Park!
Good morning everyone!

We left Grand Junction, CO about 1030 this morning..thought it would be earlier but not!  We were in Fruita, CO about 10 minutes later and then headed out for a few miles on 6/50..then we headed for I70. Not a bad route and not many trucks!  The drive was incredible once we got past Green River.  Again I have no words for the incredible beauty that God has to offer!  The mountains, the rocks is just so incredible again there are no words except..ohhhh....wow...amazing...heard a lot of that going down the road.

We had our wraps at a beautiful rest area and then continued on..we got off at exit 116 and headed toward Millsite Landing State Park. Nice ride out to the park and then when we got here..there was only one other trailer here. Later a cabover pop up showed up and the owner of the trailer came and they moved to the electric area.  We stayed in the no hook up area as we didn't need them and the site is right on the lake.  So beautiful!

Such a beautiful spot, great facilities, electrical hookups if you need them, bathrooms with showers, gorgeous views, and level sites. Fishing is encouraged right now as they are slowing draining the lake to do some required repairs on the dam.  They have raised the fishing limit to 16 fish per person per day!  They realize there will be dead fish because of the lowering of the lake and are trying to make sure the loss is minimal.

We sat outside for the afternoon watching the clouds.  I was outside enjoying the Little Red Campfire and Ken went into the camper to something when a huge wind started.  The bar b q was ready to go over so I went running, which caused the loveseat to blow over..it was something else!  Everything blowing, so Ken took the bar b q to the picnic shelter so he could bar b q there.  Rain, wind and fog on the surrounding mountains..amazing how quickly it all changed!  Ken still bar b q ed some awesome burgers for dinner out in the wind and rain under the picnic shelter. What a trooper!!

I 70 Pics..just don't do it justice..but still beautiful..

Where we had lunch..off I70

Some of the mountains...

The rocks were something else on the way to the campground
Remember clicking on a pic will make it bigger and a slideshow will start..the pictures look better then...
