Over the hill for a few days.. Home now

Got things ready to go over last weekend. Monday was a holiday, so banks weren't open. I headed over the hill to Citrus Heights, CA on Tuesday. I went directly to my sister Wendy's house about 1000.  After hugs we got started on things that needed to be done. I thought we'd have to go to her bank, but they were helpful over the phone. I found it interesting but the bank and most credit cards have a deceased or estate line that you talk too.

I tried to help her out as much as I could, as Shawn handled all the bills and basically she didn't have a lot of knowledge. We were able to get into the bank account so we know what she has to work with and what bills are paid and when.  Social Security was called and that's good news for her.

Russell stopped by Tuesday evening after work. Then I headed home with hime for Taco Tuesday at Russell's house. OH YUM! We had a good evening and called it a night pretty early.

Wednesday morning, I made egg sandwiches for grandson Aaron, but he wasn't up yet when I left for Wendy's. LOL. Oh to be a teenager on home study, because of his knee surgery.

I spent the day with Wendy and got more things figured out. Wednesday evening we headed for Round Table Clubhouse at Sunrise and Antelope for dinner with Russell, Lori, Aaron and his sweetie Kenna for dinner. OH YUM!

Thursday I headed to Wendy's after making Aaron his breakfast sandwiches. The baby is still not home, as he's having problems digesting the formula.

Aaron texted me and asked if I'd mind making him and Kenna dinner. Of course not. Enchiladas for them. Russell and Lori were headed back to Round Table Clubhouse to meet with some friends. I told Russell , grandchild won out so I'd be staying home. Didn't surprise him a bit. LOL.

Aaron and Kenna 💗 They made cupcakes after dinner.
I stole one yesterday to have with my coffee in the car, and
so delicious! 💙

We had a nice evening after they got home and way too much wine was drank.

Friday morning I made french toast and bacon for Lori, Aaron and his sweetie Kenna. I left for Wendy's around 1100 or so. Clicking things off and paying bills. Our oldest son, Bryan stopped by along with younger sister, Linda, her hubby Bobby and their adorable grand daughter, Cassidy.

We headed to Old Town Pizza in Roseville on Friday evening. Eric, Christina and Mason met us all there! It was really nice, food was great, but really couldn't hear at the end of the table as it sounded like a high school cafeteria. Still nice to get together with the two sons and families. 💗

Lori, Christina, Eric, Mason, Aaron, Kenna, Russell 💗

Eric and family left and Lori was ready for another beer so we moved to the end of the bar. All I know is every time I turned around there was another glass of wine in front of me. LOL. After getting back home, I drank some more wine apparently. LOL.

Saturday morning I woke close to 0800 and got my stuff to head home. I knew there was a short window over the summit and I wanted to make it. The only problem was CA had "chains required over summit" signs everywhere. Not a drop of snow to be had, but you had people putting on chains everywhere. Chain Check...uh no, but people were put into one lane. Sucked!

I got home near one o'clock just in time to have lunch with my sweetie. After Karen got home we went next door and had Happy Hour with her and the furry kids. I think they missed me 😁

Today is Champagne Sunday of course! Watching Nascar and enjoying the day. Ken's going next door to make a fire in John's Hangout as the wind is too much to have an outdoor fire.

Looks like they've finally found a formula that works on baby Phoenix so he should be coming home on Wednesday.

Tasha and Baby Phoenix..

WE have an appointment with the financial people on the 20th so I know I'll be headed back to CA then, if not before. Of course, that day is special, grandson Aaron turns 18! 💖

Grateful to Brother in law Bobby for getting some things to sell on Marketplace for Wendy. Eric for changing out the filters for the heater along with other things, Christina for taking Tasha to spend some time with Phoenix.  Russell and Lori for stopping by again to check on Wendy. Allissa for coming and bringing another food donation! Chelsea and her babies for bringing flowers and hugs. Our family is so blessed!

Have a wonderful Sunday. Remember to hug the ones you're blessed with!

We have Nascar on today. We don't watch the NFL anymore. We like Nascar because of the patriotism, the prayers and the National Anthem. Could have been better today, as we are very picky as to the way it's sung.  but still, America! 😊😊

Our brother in law gets his wings...Headed to CA for a few days. Baby Phoenix isn't home yet :(

We awoke to 10 degrees and a feels like -3 in Tonopah, NV on Thursday (February 16th). Frozen pipes, so no showers. Once we were done with coffee and blogs we headed to Tonopah Station for great breakfasts. A few hours later and we drove into our driveway. Always good to be home 💗

We both got to work and unloaded the Mansion. Got it done and Ken was able to winterize it again. After Karen got home she texted about Happy Hour. Yep, we went and got caught up on things.

Friday morning I was texting with my two sisters about 0730. Our Brother in Law Shawn was in the hospital as he's been fighting liver cancer for the last two years. Honestly, the main reason we headed back home from Quartzite. It didn't sound good from my sister, so neither of us could have enjoyed the trip. Ken could have had his back looked at any urgent care anywhere from Q to Texas.

Friday morning I was texting with both my sisters  and after texting with Wendy, I got the call that Shawn was gone 😭 Only about half an hour after we had been texting. We got our stuff together and headed out to California. By the time we got there, Wendy was home. Thankfully there was a lot of family to surround her with love already 💗

We spent a few hours and then headed for our hotel. Family was there for them and that was nice!

After dreams and waking up at 0200 and my mind going crazy, I fell asleep and didn't wake until 0645. We took our time getting ready and headed for Wendy's. Spent some time there and then we headed home. Spent the weekend at home, as there's nothing that can be done over the long weekend.

Tonight we are in Carson at the Days Inn we like. Tomorrow I'm heading back to Wendy's and Ken will head home. Trying to get the financial end worked out for her.

My sister is breaking my heart I have to say, but we'll get it figured out! 💗 Baby Phoenix is still in the hospital. His feeding continues to be a problem.

He's as cute as he can be!

Love the way he wraps his hand around his mom's 💗
Honestly, Chiristina ( our daughter in law)has been a Godsend. She's taken Tasha  over
to see him and so many other things. 💙
One life goes, another comes along as a special friend and family have said. 💙

When we saw Patsy a few weeks ago, she gave me this sign!
Gotta love it as it so fits me! 💖💖

We went to Betsy's for an early dinner and are now back at the room. I hope to leave around 0700 for CA. I'll be staying at our youngest son's Russell and Lori's house. Day by day...it's all we can do! 💖

Have a great night! Bedtime for us!

An overnighter at Roadrunner BLM, Cal Nev Ari RV Park, Tonopah Station, Home tomorrow

We left our friends Tuesday at about noon.  We didn't want to leave as we were hoping to see more friends while we were in Quartzite but I felt we needed to.  Ken needs to have a follow up appointment on his back. It's healing nicely, but seems a bit hard to me surrounding the wound area. Texas will wait.

Ken had Deb take a selfie of us all. Me, Deb and Deb..Ken, Doug and Tom..
Love this group! 💗

Hugs all around

The dust storm

We had a nice drive, windy and dusty but still an easy drive. We ended up in Cal Nev Ari at the RV Park there.  We've stayed there a few times, it used to be Passport America, but no more. $33.15 for the night, so it's affordable.  Full hookups, and pull through sites, very nicely kept park.    Quiet for sure, other than the howling winds and cold temps. A lot of the park seems to be locals living there, but still ok. $450.00 a month I would assume is the draw.

Wednesday morning we woke up around 0600 and started getting ready. We left around 1000 and had a nice drive through Vegas. Traffic yes, but not rush hour. Ken did a great job navigating through there! It was about 1230 when we were through most of it.  We stopped at Armagosa Valley and had lunch in the Mansion. Originally we thought we'd stop there for the night, but it was close to 1400 and we thought, let's move on.

We are in Tonopah, NV at the Tonopah Station RV Park, basically a parking lot with hookups. Used to be $27.00 for the night but now it's $34.00. Can't get any tv stations but that's ok, Ken brought dvds. The most important thing is heat! So cold here! It was 21 feels like 8. Yes, there is wind! 26 at home..oh yay! Talked with Karen and it snowed Tuesday evening. We'll see her tonight for Happy Hour.

Too bad it was such a short trip, but that's how the jello jiggled! We are blessed with our family and friends and that's all that matters.

My sister Wendy with her new grandson 💗
He should be going home today.

Waking up here in Tonopah, NV it's 13 degrees with a feels like -3. Yes, we have frozen pipes. No showers this morning. Thank goodness for the electric heater.

Have a wonderful day! My sweetie is taking me to breakfast across the parking lot 😋 We'll be home in a few hours. 😀

Quick catch up, Spending time with friends, Homeward bound

Well this has been a week of hardly any internet, so no posts or comments on fellow bloggers either.  We were able to read most posts, but when it came time to comment I couldn't. 😞

Last Friday morning we were at NextCare in Yuma for Ken's 0940 appointment that actually happened about 1050. The doctor came in, looked at Ken's wound and said "Oh there's more I can get out" Oh yay (not).  LOL.  Gave him another shot and said he wanted to see him in a week. We're not going to be here, didn't know where we would be, so decided to head for home and see our Dr. Danny there. We can always head out again, once this is taken care of for good. I change his dressing daily and can see definite improvement. He's got strong antibiotics and pain meds so all his good. Think he's learned his lesson and won't wait so long if another abscess pops up.

We went by CVS to see if they had his antibiotic in yet. They said it would be ready in about an hour. We drove to the laundry we like, well as much as anyone likes doing laundry on the road. Ken dropped me off because with Friday traffic in Yuma, during snowbird time it would take forever to get back across town to pick up his prescription.

I just finished folding and in he walks. We were both starving, as it was nearing 1500.  Across the freeway to Daybreakers Cafe, had a great dinner as always when we're in town.

Back to Pilot Knob to pick up the Mansion and head to Imperial Dam for our visit with our friends, Dave and Debbie. 💖 We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday night there just relaxing and visiting. They've been on the road since September seeing America in their trailer. A wonderful trip from the sounds of it!
Debbie, Dave and Ken 💙

Monday morning after hugs all around, we all headed out.  We headed to Yuma for a quick trip to Walmart and then up the road to Roadrunner BLM. We saw Doug and Yuma pulled over so pulled in to make sure they were ok. Then we followed Doug to where we awaited Deb to show us where they had camped. More hugs followed there as we met up with Tom, Deb, Riley, Deb and Doug.

We all made lunch and then gathered for Happy Hour outside until the sun went down and it got too chilly.

All night long the winds have howled once again. WE've got a light cloud cover and higher winds expected this afternoon.

Our niece Tasha, gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday afternoon. He's a cutie, spending some time in the NICU as she saw his breathing was labored yesterday. Perfect place for him to be for the best care. Christina visted them yesterday so that was nice for Tasha. Welcome to the world, Phoenix Ray Maidment!

Only pictures I could get uploaded today. Just not much service here. Have a wonderful day!

Howling at the Moon, Visiting friends at Imperial Dam, More friends at Ogilby Road, A necessary trip to NextCare for Ken

We got ourselves ready and left Plomosa Rd around 1200 or so Saturday morning heading 90 miles or so to Yuma, AZ.  We stopped at La Posa LTVA and paid $40.00 for a 2 week pass. We won't be in the area that long, but there are dumpsters and dump stations. Can't beat the price.

We found a Wells Fargo bank and got some cash. Next time we'll do that before we leave home. LOL. Then it was on to the Howling at the Moon site. Actually very easy to find, so that was nice.

We pulled in and found a place to park. There were some RVs already here so we had a general idea of what was RV parking. We parked and then walked to the venue area and found Lola selling shirts and hoodies. She is quite the talker and we enjoyed chatting with her and others. We paid our $20.00 for 2 nights and headed back to camp. Ken had a headache, took some pills and I made a late lunch for us. Could be I'm starving the guy?! LOL He rested for a bit and felt better then.

The temps were awesome so we went outside and enjoyed the rest of the day.

Around 1730 or so we saw people heading over to an area. Then we heard, there it is! Probably around 10 people or so started howling! It was too cute.

Sunday morning around 1130 or so got a text from Jim and Barb, then waved then in close to our site. We've never met in person, but conversation just flowed! Around 1300 or so Jerry and Elva pulled in as they wanted to meet Jim and Barb too. Nearing 1500 we took our chairs and headed over to the big event.  We enjoyed ourselves people watching, listening to music and just enjoying each other.

Barb and Me with the Howler

The cute picture of Ken and Gibbs 💙
Thanks Don for sending it to me! 💙

Around 1900 we headed back to camp and Ken lit the little red campfire. More conversation for an hour or so and then we all said good night.

Jerry, Barb and Jim

The biggest night ever over 5000 howlers!
It was fun, but off the bucket list

Monday morning we knew Jim and Barb were leaving early as he had a dentist appointment in Mexico. We talked some more and then hugs were exchanged and we waved good bye. We really enjoyed the short time with them as we've been following their blog for years and always wanted to meet. I'm sure we'll all see each other again!

Once we got packed up we headed over to Imperial Dam where we met up with Dave and Debbie. We've known Dave since high school. We visited and enjoyed that time too! We spent one night there and headed over to Ogilby Road to find some more of our friends. Jerry and Elva were here when we arrived visiting with group. They left later in the day to head back to Wellton.

We stayed two nights here and headed out this morning. It's been a nice relaxing time, just visiting with friends. 💖 Last night we had a roaring fire next to Doug's rig, The White Lion. Hugs all around in the howling wind this morning.

Thank you Eric and Christina! 💙

A great fire last night! 😁

We left our friends and headed for NextCare an urgent care facility in Yuma. Ken has had a problem with a boil/lesion on his lower back for over 6 days now. It leaks but gets bigger with swelling moving across his back and over towards his chest. Today was the day to get that taken care of. Doctor came in and said right away he's going to drain it. Won't give you the gory details, but it was! 🤮😱Bandaged it up and then gave him a shot and an appointment tomorrow to redress it and another shot. CVS had the prescriptions but wouldn't be ready for a while.

Since we were pulling the trailer we headed to Pilot Knob LTVA a little west of Yuma. Dropped it, had some food and back to Yuma. CVS had two of the three prescriptions, so we'll hope for the antibiotic tomorrow.

After watching the procedure, Ken may not be feeling much pain right now, but he will be! Just glad there wasn't more involved.

After his appointment at 0940 we'll do laundry and then head for Imperial Dam to see Dave and Debbie again.

For some reason I didn't take many pictures, but hope to get some of friends down the road.

Happy Hour with the hubby in our Mansion! Have a wonderful evening 🍷🍺

A wonderful visit with friends!

After finishing the blog yesterday morning we had a good breakfast at about 1030. Yep, we're getting good at these later mornings LOL. Scrambled eggs with ham and cheese. YUM! Late enough we wouldn't be needing lunch.

Ken has determined we need a new battery for the Mansion. We got ourselves ready and headed into Quartzite and RV Lifestyles. We figured they'd be pricy and they were. We'll wait until we're in Yuma to see what we find. We've got 1 good one so we're good.

Took a quick ride to the Dome Rock area, there's still quite a few people out there.

Then it was time to go visit Bill, Patsy and meet Gibbs. It was quite a welcome with hugs all around. It's been 3 years I believe since we've seen them. Just like old home week and the time just flew by! Before you know it, 1700 hours and time to head home. Hopefully we'll get one more visit in before we leave this area for good. Hoping to see Dave and Cheryl too while we're in the area.

Patsy, Bill and Gibbs on Ken's lap 💙 A wonderful afternoon with great
friends we met through our blogs 💖

Gibbs is quite the photogenic pup! 💙
There's an adorable picture of Ken and Gibbs on Patsy's
blog, but I can't figure how to steal it!

It was nice day temp wise, but the sun didn't show it's face until it was almost time to go down. We sat outside and Ken made another small fire. Nice and toasty, a wonderful evening.

Beautiful views from our site!

Good night from Q

This morning it was 0700 when I started the coffee. We're in no hurry obviously LOL. Today it's a short 90 mile drive to Yuma where we'll set up at the Howling at the Moon grounds. It's a new adventure!

I'll get this posted and then some breakfast going. The sun is shining and they're expecting 77 in Yuma! YAY! Have a wonderful Saturday!

Pahrump NV to Plomosa Road LTVA for two nights

Thursday morning we were up around 0500 and had a our coffees and read our friends blogs. Then we got moving and got on the road at 0900. We were hoping for earlier but didn't pan out.  Oh well.

Our site at Lakeside Casino and RV Park. A Passport America Park.

A beautiful, non eventful drive from Pahrump. We pulled over for lunch in the Mansion about 1330. Our goal was Plomosa Rd LTVA for 2 nights.

When we see this bridge in Parker, we know we're close :)

Barely any wind..

We pulled in at around 1530 and got ourselves set up in a nice spot. We enjoyed an adult beverage outside in the warm sun. 🍺🍷 It's been months at home since we were able to sit outside without UGGS and heavy jackets! LOL.

Our home for the next 2 days

Definitely not as crowded as we've seen in prior years

Later in the evening Ken started a cowboy fire and it was lovely! No big roaring fire needed. 😊

Good night!

This morning you find us sleeping in until 0630 (0530 at home which is about right). We've just been enjoying the comforts of the Mansion. 😊 Later today we'll enjoy a visit with friends 😍😊 and tomorrow we'll head to Yuma, AZ. Life is good, no it's great! 💖😁

Yerington, NV to Pahrump, NV

We left home this morning just about 0800. Got almost to the road and Ken asked if I had my keys for the truck. NOPE. Luckily it wasn't any farther than the end of the road. We turned around and got them. Figure it's always a good idea to have two sets just in case.

Got on the road driving into the sun. Not fun. A great drive, got gas in Tonopah and then on to Armagosa Valley and the rest area there.

Coming into Tonopah, one of my favorite towns with great memories!💖

It appears things are being done to the old Goldfield Hotel.

All new windows on the bottom..hopefully they are bringing it back
along with all the ghosts!!😊

We came into the Mansion and had a simple lunch of sandwiches I made last night. It was already a lot warmer than our 12 degrees at home. 😁

Saw these cuties on the road in Beatty, NV

The white car was stopped and I'm sure feeding them

I made reservations at Lakeside Casino and RV Park while we had lunch. It's a Passport America Park. They have huge sites and it you get the standard it $29.00 a night for full hook ups. Very nice park, we've stayed one night a few years ago. It was 60 degrees when we got here 😀

We'll be on the road again tomorrow as Yuma is our goal for Saturday. Friday we've planned a Happy Hour with Bill and Patsy 💗

Having Happy Hour in the Mansion with my sweetie right now! 🍷🍺
