We're home and the week just keeps flying! Grandsons pictures..

We left around 1000 Monday morning and had a beautiful drive home! Unloaded some things and then decided it was happy hour and the rest could wait until Tuesday.

I didn't take many pictures on the road home, as we
go this way so often. Gotta love these beautiful
snow covered mountains!

It was cold, so we went out to the outdoor kitchen and Ken started a fire in the wood stove for our Happy Hour.

Had a beautiful sunset welcoming us home πŸ’—

Tuesday we unloaded and cleaned everything. The Mansion's ready for company this weekend.  πŸ˜€ In the evening we went next door to visit with John and Karen.  He's home this week for the Halloween party Saturday.

Wednesday was  a day of running around. We headed to Reno for a visit at Total Wine 😁 and then we dropped a nice fortune at Walmart. Ugh!

Linner at Betsy's Big Kitchen  and then home. We had a nice fire at John and Karen's again. 😊

Talked with our oldest son, Bryan and he finally got a date for his hernia surgery in December! About time!

Today was a day of cooking for me. I got all the fixings together for enchiladas and coleslaw for tomorrow night's dinner. Deviled eggs, sausage balls and seven layer dip for the party on Saturday. Tomorrow I'll throw it all together and we'll have that on Saturday along with all the stuff Karen's making!

Today was Karen's mom, Izzie's 79th birthday. I ran to town and got some cupcakes and gave her a card. Had a few $$ so she can enjoy at the casino LOL.

Ken worked outside all day and it never warmed up! We've had a fire going inside all day long. So that's the week so far for us.

Had some good pics of a couple of the grandsons I'm including today.

Jacob in Italy at the Navy Ball..gotta love a man in that uniform
especially when he's your grandson πŸ’™πŸ’™

πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒLooks like flasks are very popular LOL.

And now his younger brother Aaron #20 πŸ’™

I love this one!

So intense in this pic...

Aaron and his proud parents at Senior Night πŸ’™πŸ’™

They play tomorrow night and I'm hoping they go to the playoffs, so we can get over the hill next week for a game!

Have a great night, time for Happy Hour 🍷🍺🍸

Snow at Ghost Mountain View Area, More snow across Utah, Spending the night just outside Ely :)

We awoke  Sunday morning at the Ghost Mountain Viewing area where we spent the night. The lovely rain we fell asleep to turned into snow overnight! We had a good 2 to 3 inches on our steps outside.

This morning at Ghost Mountain, UT

Ken started the generator and it warmed up the Mansion nicely. 28 degrees this morning!

Coffee, breakfast, showers etc I went to close the slide and it started "jumping" I told Ken and he realized there was snow on the slide. He cleaned it off and we got out of there just about our normal time of 1100. LOL.

A beautiful drive across Utah, but climbing the grade it was snowing more. We took our time, and Ken did an awesome job of driving in the snow and the grades. Never expected any of this! We did see a semi that had hit an embankment and a car that was off the road. Of course Utah has an 80 mile an hour speed limit 😱and some idiots just don't care what the weather conditions are. It was slow going, but gorgeous.

Honestly gotta love the traffic compared to 80, 10, 8 or 40!!

A little slow going here, but that's ok!

We really didn't hit any more active snow, but the views were incredible with snow covered mountains! I told him "it looks like Christmas"..not what he wanted to hear Hahaa. (Cause you know I'm decorating the bunkhouse after the 1st of November LOL)...

We pulled over and had a late lunch at a pull out. We were heading for Sacramento Pass and the campground there. We gained an hour coming into Nevada, it was cold and windy so decided to move along to just outside Ely, Nevada another hour or so. We pulled into wildlife viewing area for the night that's for Ely Elk.  As soon as we pulled in it started snowing pretty good! Beautiful.

We had some great  phone chats with Christina, Bryan and Adam tonight. πŸ’—

Highway 50 out of Silica

Climbing a bit before Ely..

Coming into Ely, NV..

Our view when we pulled into the wildlife viewing area for the night.

Originally we planned on staying at Illipah once again on the way home. Snow and cold has changed our minds. Monday we'll head on home. Ken can barbecue there just as well 😊

It's been a great trip and I wouldn't change a thing. We had a wonderful time! Surprising that winter came so early, but it's oh so beautiful.

We've got company coming this week for John and Karen's Halloween Party on Saturday, so a good reason to get on home!

I wrote this Sunday evening, but not posting until Monday morning, so you can see our morning view! I know my Canadian friends don't want to see this!

                                          Waking up to these

                                          temps this morning.

Our view this am

Ice crystals on the inside windows. We are warm and toasty though!

The generator ran all night and so did our heater! Testament to a Honda generator! Pipes are frozen except for the kitchen, so it looks like we'll be quicker getting out of here than our normal time! LOL. Showers will have to wait :(

Since it's our last morning out, we're heading for our favorite restaurant in town for breakfast. That should hold us until we get home this afternoon.

Have a wonderful day! πŸ’—

Pagosa Springs, CO to Moab, Utah and Ghost Mountain, Utah, Homeward Bound!

Good morning Ghost Mountain, Utah! 😱😊

Fell asleep to a gentle rain, woke up to a little SNOW! πŸ’™

Rest area at mm 117..Ghost Mountain, Utah

Friday the 21st we left the campground and headed just a few miles to Pagosa Springs, CO.  Such a cute town and the guy in the office told us not much had changed except there was a Walmart on the outskirts of town. Town was still adorable, and the Walmart was quite a ways out. Much better than Santa Fe, NM.

We visited Walmart for some stock up and then it was time to play tourist. We parked down near the river and visited the Chamber to see what they had. We got a recommendation for Linner from the gal in the office.

We walked the stores for an hour and half or so..touristie, but much better than Santa Fe. Ken bought a belt at the thrift store for Halloween. That was it though.

Around 1330 we headed for Beny's Mexican Restaurant. OH so yummy! Ken had a 32oz beer and I had a great pour of wine.  The food was excellent along with their homemade salsa.

We took our time and then headed back to camp where Happy Hour continued.

Saturday morning I set the alarm for 0530 and then woke Ken nearing 0545. We left the park around 0900. We've got to head towards home now as we've got company coming on Friday. πŸ˜ƒ

The drive from Pagosa Springs to Moab was awesome,  so many farms and ranches. We followed highway 191, instead of an interstate. Lots of passing lanes so we never had to worry about that. Of course WE don't really pass anyone LOL. We had lunch in the trailer near Moab, and the drive was awesome from there to the rest area on I-70/50 at exit 117. We have avoided freeways so far, but this is one of the best. Little traffic and semis.

Chimney Rock National Monument..closed for the season

Coming up the entrance to Mesa Verde NP...we were there a few
years ago. Amazing place!

Coming into the Moab area..Just an incredible area!

First one of these I've seen, a small fifth wheel on the trailer and
room for your ATV too!!

Around 1600 we pulled into the rest area at mm 117. We were able to run the generator and watch a few movies, keep the heater going and just enjoy the evening. We will be falling asleep to gentle rain on the roof. Does it get any better?? We could be home on Monday, but think we're gonna slow it down and make it Tuesday. Gosh darn I love vacation, but love going back home!

Time to hit the road 😊
