Monday morning we got ourselves up and got going. We were actually on the road by 0820. We were only going about 250 miles but still wanted to beat our normal time of 1100 getting out. LOL.
Our sunset Sunday evening |
Another view from camp |
Lone Rock |
We've seen a few of these vehicles, imported from overseas.. |
Going over the Colorado River |
A nice drive out of Page heading towards Farmington and Aztec, NM. Out of all the times we've been in this area we've never taken this route.
Love watching the changing scenery |
Gas prices are cheaper out this way running around $3.99 a gallon. It was a lot of reservation land we were crossing through. Stopped to get fuel and I thought I'd use their restroom. UH NO. Big sign saying Masks Required to enter! Not happening. As we were driving I could see those signs everywhere!
I called the RV Park in Aztec to see about a reservation and they were full. Ok then. Time for another plan which is how we ended up in Farmington at the fairgrounds.
They have 574 sites with water and electrical. A dump station too. $30.00 a night. It appears they don't charge a separate fee if you just want to dump and take on water as we've seen several people pull in to do that.
I called the office to find out how to pay for the night. She said security comes on about 1600 and they'd be over to get our $$. We saw security, they waved, and at bedtime no one ever stopped.
Our spot for the night..us and one motorhome is all that's here |
We enjoyed our evening, with a little red campfire as there was a small, cool breeze blowing. Ken barbecued some wonderful burgers too.
This morning we're heading out to Santa Fe to play tourists for a couple of days before heading home. We've got reservations at Santa Fe Skies RV Park. Got the last pull thru site, so glad we made the reservation!
Have a wonderful day! Time to hit the shower and get on the road.
It seems no one ever wants to go see New Mexico, but I loved it when I was there ... mostly just driving through, but it was beautiful country. Yes, the Indian reservations are all about Cvid and masks. Beautiful pictures!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, like most states you just have to find the beauty in the ever changing terrain. Yep, the Indians are still scared..
DeleteGreat views! Love that slow easy pace. Safe travels.

We love taking our time, if only we didn't have a deadline to be back :( OH well, there's always the next time :)
DeleteI can't believe there are still mask required signs out there. Have you ever visited Antelope Canyon?
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy, but yes there are signs and they're all wearing them! We have been to Antelope Canyon on a tour several years ago. They appear to be still going strong! The canyon was gorgeous, but we were pushed through like cattle so we didn't really enjoy it. YOU?
DeleteWe did the Antelope Canyon tour several years ago, it is absolutely beautiful!
DeleteYes it is!
