Freedom Convoy moves on and moves hearts...Jacob, Allissa and family :), special buys

This one got to me...This little guy and the Freedom Convoy!
πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

Another week has drawn  to a close. They are going by way too fast and it'll be March already in a few days.

Jacob and Allissa went out to a Sushi Bar in Austria and had
a nice bottle of wine too. Love this picture of her πŸ’•

Jacob and Allissa were out to dinner at an Italian Restaurant tonight
with my family πŸ’™

The boys dad, Josef, Lawrence and Max πŸ’™

Lawrence, Max, Allissa, Jacob, Lilli, and Zotti πŸ’–
Allissa heads home in the morning and Jacob back to Italy in the evening.
So glad they all got to spend some time together. πŸ’™πŸ’–

Thursday we headed for Reno and Ken's yearly eye appointment with his opthomoligist. All good there! He goes back in a year :)

After that I drove over to Western Skies RV where we bought the Mansion two years ago.  We wanted to get some information on who to contact about the structural warranty.   They helped us with that and while we were there we looked at a couple of new trailers that don't have the Lippert frame. In the sizes that we would like to keep they were nice but NO counter space. Been there, done that. More $$ too. They were made by Winnebago.

That killed some time so around 1400 we headed to Betsy's Big Kitchen for what would be our dinner. A nice time was had and great food.

We then headed for the Day's Inn we like in Carson City.  We ended up with an upgraded room as I wanted a first floor room. They were trying not to rent out the back side because of ice and snow. The gentleman said if we promised to be careful he'd give us that room. Nice!

Friday morning we were up early as Ken had an early appointment with his 2nd ophthamologist that deals with his glaucoma. All good there too! His eye drop is working and pressure is staying the same. :)

Once he was out of there we headed to Winco in Reno and left a nice donation there! I knew I would as I haven't been shopping there in ages!

Then on to Gardnerville and a quick stop at Raley's for prescriptions.

Time for linner so we stopped at Sharkey's Casino for an awesome meal. Homeward bound after that!

Doug, Ken's fish tacos are amazing every time!! Can u
see why over 1/2 of mine came home? :)

Put away the groceries (the part I hate the most LOL).  Ken made a fire inside and we enjoyed the evening watching a couple of movies.

Saturday we slept in until almost 0700.  Blogging, coffees and treats. Ken went outside and worked on firewood until lunch. We both had leftovers from the meals of the last two days. I usually only finish about 1/2 of mine at the restaurant.

This afternoon we went two doors down to pick up a few things for Karen. Our neighbor died a few months ago and his friend is there selling stuff before they list the house on the market.  Karen bought a few things and she found a Youngstown Kitchen cabinet for us. $30.00. What for you ask?

Once this baby is cleaned and painted it will be awesome!
These kitchens were popular in the 40's and 50's! I'm in Love!

The Kay's Kountry Kitchen is being planned for this spring/ early summer! I fell in love with our friend Fred's outdoor kitchen when we visited this winter. Brought it up to Ken and that's our next project. πŸ’™πŸ˜‹ We want it rustic and western. I have a vision and I think we both agree! Can't wait to get started.

While over there I spotted these concrete blocks that Ken always picks up at Lowe's.  For our kitchen he plans on using these with concrete for the outside foundation. Well, we got a steal at 250 of them for $100.00. They run about $2.00 a piece at Lowe's.  40 cents a piece we're paying :)

The 2nd night of the convoy the owners of this establishment fed
everyone who wanted for FREE!! πŸ’™We definitely will be visiting
next time we are in Kingman visiting Doug and Michelle !!

The owners!! Wonderful Patriots!!

An Arizona Overpass! They said this happened all the way across AZ!!

Got us a CONVOY!!!

I hate I40 but what I would have gave to be a part of this!!
If Ken's appointments didn't have to be scheduled 6 months to a year out we
both said we would have gone!! Coming into Amarillo!!

I haven't seen so many American flags since the
day after 9/11 when we were headed to Kansas!
Love, Love this!! Yes, I am obsessed!! πŸ’•

Time to head outside we've got a fire going and Happy Hour! Have a great evening!

Cold and windy! Pictures from Allissa in Austria..Freedom Convoy 2022

Not much has happened here the last couple of days except it's still COLD! Next week it'll warm up some, or so they say!

Jacob and Allissa seem to be having a wonderful time in Austria and we're so happy for them to be together and spending time with my cousins and families. πŸ’• I keep thinking how this would have made my mom so happy to know her great grandson has a relationship with them and is able to introduce his sweetie to them tooπŸ’™

Allissa has sent some pictures so I just HAVE to share them. The main reason for the blog today. πŸ’•

I love this picture of the 4 of them..Allissa, Max, Lawrence and Jacob πŸ’™
Allissa made chocolate covered strawberries and bananas for them πŸ˜€

They visited Schonbrunn Palace yesterday

Jacob and Allissa πŸ’—

Thought this was so cute..Max and Lawrence..πŸ’—

Pretty much the same pose Jacob and Aaron πŸ’™

πŸ’–

Looks like some great food and wine. You only have to be
18 over there to enjoy!

When it's cold and windy outside might as well cook! Enchiladas and coleslaw for dinner!

A few snow flurries off and on..

Tomorrow we'll head for Reno early and the first of Ken's two ophthalmologist appointments. Sure we'll find some other things to keep us occupied. Home Friday afternoon 😁

I have to admit I've become obsessed (well, that's what Ken says) with Freedom Convoy 2022! Just saw on the news that they're saying the truckers and others are headed to DC to cause big problems. WRONG!  All in how the media wants to portray it which is why I hate the news!

Seeing all the American and Canadian flags being flown in solidarity just makes my heart swell and tears come to my eyes!  I love seeing so many people and flags on overpasses all across America! How can that be bad?! Just my feelings.

Have a great evening! Happy Hour time 🍷🍺

Just saw the convoy from CA going into Kingman tonight is 65 miles long at this point and it just started this morning!! WOOHOO AMERICA!!

A week spent mostly at home! SNOW! Jacob and Allissa are in Austria visiting family!

Well, time certainly flies! Today is President's Day in America. Basically it's a day off for state, county and federal workers. Used to love those days off! Now it's quite a awhile before there's another holiday for the workers of America.

A beautiful sight this morning!

Loved the clouds coming down our road today!

Mainly we've been home for the last week. We made a trip to Walmart to get groceries and a few little trips to Raley's in town but that's about it. Baking day, a few fires at night, just enjoying being home.

I did grandson Adam's taxes so he's a happy camper, getting money back.

Mason asked me to come over for a few days in March while his parents take a quick trip to Vegas for their 20th anniversary. Things have opened up in Nevada, no masks required so they should enjoy. I'll look forward to spending a little time with him.

Ken's done a few things here like getting firewood on the porch and getting a few things taken care of in the Mansion.  We took a quick trip to town in Nellie just to start her up and move the wheels :)

Our fire last night in the garage while Ken barbecued some awesome pork steaks!

We had a little wind LOL.

A beautiful sunset to top off the night!

Happy Hour!

We woke up to SNOW this morning so that a was a great way to start the day! It snowed until mid morning and then stopped, but as I'm writing this it's lightly snowing once again. Wouldn't want to live in it, but love what we get a few times of the year!

Later this week we'll head to Reno as Ken has two eye doctor appointments a day apart. Made reservations at a motel in Carson as they are both early appointments. Other than that we'll be home until then.

My cousin Lilli in Austria sent me these pictures this morning πŸ’– Allissa, Jacob's sweetie is overseas visiting and they'll be in Austria for the next week visiting my relatives. I know one happy young man!My cousins are thrilled to meet Allissa and see Jacob again πŸ’™ Thanks for sending Lilli and keep them coming! πŸ’•

πŸ’™

Lilli said they spent the day in Modling..looks beautiful

Looks like an awesome dinner out with family! πŸ’—

Allissa is getting to be quite the world traveler πŸ’–

Canadian Truckers TOO!!

Time for Happy Hour! Have a great evening!

A great trip, but glad to be home!

We got home Saturday afternoon. Last blog we were at Imperial Dam LTVA. If I'm remembering correctly we only stayed one night and then decided to move on. We headed for Quartzsite for a couple of days. I know during the two days we were were there we visited Silly Al's twice since we have no idea when we'll be back that way again. 1st day the pizza was really awesome! 2nd day it was good but not as good. Oh well, still tasty.

Silly Al's I think Ken had meat lovers and mine was double pepperoni! YUM!

It was an IPA for him and chardonnay for me!

Gotta love this place!

Dusty and his son, Owen! πŸ’• Owen reminds me alot of our grandson Aaron
with his energy on the floor!!

Took a drive from our campsite at Imperial Dam...

Lots of campers down by the lake which was gorgeous!

Parker, AZ

Wind was a blowing! But it was warm!

Finally got Mason's card mailed here!

Our campsite at Q, La Posa South

The night's were cold and the batteries didn't hold a charge so we woke up chilly. He hooked up Mr. Heater only to find it would only stay lit on pilot, well darn that's not helping much. We could run the generator during generator hours then we could run the heater. Days were awesome, temps nearing 80.

We took a drive to find the Quartzsite Arrow..rocks that lead pilots to Q during the 2nd world war.  The rocks were painted white to send pilots to Q and their airport. Also a rocks that showed them where North was! Easy to find once you know where it is!

Plomasa North Road after mile marker 6 you find a fence..turn there and follow the fence..You'll see rocks

The arrow points North

Then it was on to Parker, AZ where we stayed two nights (Wednesday and Thursday). We had a beautiful sight in the 2nd row so we had a lovely view of the Colorado River.  Guess we were early this year as Pirates Den didn't have their outside bar open yet. :( We enjoyed the sunshine both days and enjoyed some great barbecued dinners.

We took a trip into Parker for a few groceries at Food City. What a great place! We actually bought a couple Porterhouse steaks, which we NEVER do. Our red meat is usually hamburger but thought "what the heck".  Oh YUMMY! Their meat counter is very impressive and prices not bad either! Check them out instead of Walmart next time you're there!

Lake Mead, Boulder Beach Campground

Porter House Steak..oh so yummy!

We caught Karen on the tractor and John loading rocks πŸ˜€

We left Parker Friday morning originally thinking we'd go through Vegas then Ken thought about it and didn't want to venture through that town on Friday afternoon so we decided to spend the night at Boulder Beach Campground at Lake Mead.  Yea,h probably good thinking. I think we got the last camp there! Never seen it so crowded there ever!

We sat the alarm for 0500 on Saturday morning, bloggs and showers and then we hit the road. No problem going through Vegas so then we stopped at the exit to Mt. Charleston and I made some breakfast. Then we headed home :)

Between gas, lunch and potty stops we pulled into the driveway around 1500 or so. Not a bad drive at all.  Sorry we didn't get to catch up with more friends but...

We unloaded some things and then got a picture of a fire so we headed next door for a bit πŸ”₯🍺🍷 Nice to catch up with Karen and John πŸ’•

So, Ken has graced me with his cough..yeah..guess that's what living in a little over 200 square feet for 3 weeks will do for you! πŸ’– Nothing else but an annoying cough. So we're good. He's better so it will just take a few days!

Today we awoke to a dusting of snow. Barely can call it a dusting. Cold temps. Put a pork stew in the crockpot this morning! Ken worked outside until lunch and we've been watching movies since. Lazy day!

Russell asked me a few days ago if I was available near the end of May to head over as they are headed to Florida for their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Of course I am! Not to baby sit as grandson will be 17, but he needs a chef!! LOL. Can't wait! Aaron plays football and needs a lot of calories! This grandma can make that happen! πŸ’–πŸ’–

Adam called this evening so had a nice conversation with him :)

It was a great trip, if not expensive! I told Ken I need a different view next year whether it be southern New Mexico State Parks or Texas COE parks. I love southern AZ but it' time for a change.
