Computer issues, home, Lincoln tomorrow

Well it's Thursday already! I swear they come around quicker every week! We were mostly home other than yesterday we had to be in Reno at 0845 and since it's about a two hour drive we left home early.

Found the place I wanted for my new sign :)

Ken had an appointment at his glaucoma specialist. Eyes are good, the drops are working at keeping his pressures down. :)

After that a stop at Total Wine for a pick up and then to Carson and Walmart. By then it's lunch time so we stopped at Betsy's and had a yummy meal. Then home.

Made some curtains for the cargo trailer

We visited with Karen after she got home from the new store. It won't open until the 27th of October so there's lots to get done. Ken actually helped her on Tuesday get some things hung there.

Today we were home all day. Ken worked on the car hauler putting his side boards on. We're planning on heading to Lincoln to pick up what we can of Bryan and Cheryl's stuff tomorrow. Another early day as it's close to 4 hours from here.  We've got a safe to pick up from my sister's house, but we'll do that in the cargo trailer soon. If all goes as planned we'll leave about the 12th of October for another quick trip to Arkansas. Fingers crossed.

My computer has issues. Going to have to find someone here in town or nearby to fix it.  UHHH. I have some adorable pictures of Aaron and Kenna on Saturday night. It was her homecoming, Russell sent them to me and now the computer won't let me download them on my email. Darn!! It seems to only let me download pictures I sent directly from my phone.

Well, it's getting to be time for Happy Hour and it'll be an early night! Have a great evening..

A week spent mostly at home! SNOW! Jacob and Allissa are in Austria visiting family!

Well, time certainly flies! Today is President's Day in America. Basically it's a day off for state, county and federal workers. Used to love those days off! Now it's quite a awhile before there's another holiday for the workers of America.

A beautiful sight this morning!

Loved the clouds coming down our road today!

Mainly we've been home for the last week. We made a trip to Walmart to get groceries and a few little trips to Raley's in town but that's about it. Baking day, a few fires at night, just enjoying being home.

I did grandson Adam's taxes so he's a happy camper, getting money back.

Mason asked me to come over for a few days in March while his parents take a quick trip to Vegas for their 20th anniversary. Things have opened up in Nevada, no masks required so they should enjoy. I'll look forward to spending a little time with him.

Ken's done a few things here like getting firewood on the porch and getting a few things taken care of in the Mansion.  We took a quick trip to town in Nellie just to start her up and move the wheels :)

Our fire last night in the garage while Ken barbecued some awesome pork steaks!

We had a little wind LOL.

A beautiful sunset to top off the night!

Happy Hour!

We woke up to SNOW this morning so that a was a great way to start the day! It snowed until mid morning and then stopped, but as I'm writing this it's lightly snowing once again. Wouldn't want to live in it, but love what we get a few times of the year!

Later this week we'll head to Reno as Ken has two eye doctor appointments a day apart. Made reservations at a motel in Carson as they are both early appointments. Other than that we'll be home until then.

My cousin Lilli in Austria sent me these pictures this morning 💖 Allissa, Jacob's sweetie is overseas visiting and they'll be in Austria for the next week visiting my relatives. I know one happy young man!My cousins are thrilled to meet Allissa and see Jacob again 💙 Thanks for sending Lilli and keep them coming! 💕

💙

Lilli said they spent the day in Modling..looks beautiful

Looks like an awesome dinner out with family! 💗

Allissa is getting to be quite the world traveler 💖

Canadian Truckers TOO!!

Time for Happy Hour! Have a great evening!

A great trip, but glad to be home!

We got home Saturday afternoon. Last blog we were at Imperial Dam LTVA. If I'm remembering correctly we only stayed one night and then decided to move on. We headed for Quartzsite for a couple of days. I know during the two days we were were there we visited Silly Al's twice since we have no idea when we'll be back that way again. 1st day the pizza was really awesome! 2nd day it was good but not as good. Oh well, still tasty.

Silly Al's I think Ken had meat lovers and mine was double pepperoni! YUM!

It was an IPA for him and chardonnay for me!

Gotta love this place!

Dusty and his son, Owen! 💕 Owen reminds me alot of our grandson Aaron
with his energy on the floor!!

Took a drive from our campsite at Imperial Dam...

Lots of campers down by the lake which was gorgeous!

Parker, AZ

Wind was a blowing! But it was warm!

Finally got Mason's card mailed here!

Our campsite at Q, La Posa South

The night's were cold and the batteries didn't hold a charge so we woke up chilly. He hooked up Mr. Heater only to find it would only stay lit on pilot, well darn that's not helping much. We could run the generator during generator hours then we could run the heater. Days were awesome, temps nearing 80.

We took a drive to find the Quartzsite Arrow..rocks that lead pilots to Q during the 2nd world war.  The rocks were painted white to send pilots to Q and their airport. Also a rocks that showed them where North was! Easy to find once you know where it is!

Plomasa North Road after mile marker 6 you find a fence..turn there and follow the fence..You'll see rocks

The arrow points North

Then it was on to Parker, AZ where we stayed two nights (Wednesday and Thursday). We had a beautiful sight in the 2nd row so we had a lovely view of the Colorado River.  Guess we were early this year as Pirates Den didn't have their outside bar open yet. :( We enjoyed the sunshine both days and enjoyed some great barbecued dinners.

We took a trip into Parker for a few groceries at Food City. What a great place! We actually bought a couple Porterhouse steaks, which we NEVER do. Our red meat is usually hamburger but thought "what the heck".  Oh YUMMY! Their meat counter is very impressive and prices not bad either! Check them out instead of Walmart next time you're there!

Lake Mead, Boulder Beach Campground

Porter House Steak..oh so yummy!

We caught Karen on the tractor and John loading rocks 😀

We left Parker Friday morning originally thinking we'd go through Vegas then Ken thought about it and didn't want to venture through that town on Friday afternoon so we decided to spend the night at Boulder Beach Campground at Lake Mead.  Yea,h probably good thinking. I think we got the last camp there! Never seen it so crowded there ever!

We sat the alarm for 0500 on Saturday morning, bloggs and showers and then we hit the road. No problem going through Vegas so then we stopped at the exit to Mt. Charleston and I made some breakfast. Then we headed home :)

Between gas, lunch and potty stops we pulled into the driveway around 1500 or so. Not a bad drive at all.  Sorry we didn't get to catch up with more friends but...

We unloaded some things and then got a picture of a fire so we headed next door for a bit 🔥🍺🍷 Nice to catch up with Karen and John 💕

So, Ken has graced me with his cough..yeah..guess that's what living in a little over 200 square feet for 3 weeks will do for you! 💖 Nothing else but an annoying cough. So we're good. He's better so it will just take a few days!

Today we awoke to a dusting of snow. Barely can call it a dusting. Cold temps. Put a pork stew in the crockpot this morning! Ken worked outside until lunch and we've been watching movies since. Lazy day!

Russell asked me a few days ago if I was available near the end of May to head over as they are headed to Florida for their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Of course I am! Not to baby sit as grandson will be 17, but he needs a chef!! LOL. Can't wait! Aaron plays football and needs a lot of calories! This grandma can make that happen! 💖💖

Adam called this evening so had a nice conversation with him :)

It was a great trip, if not expensive! I told Ken I need a different view next year whether it be southern New Mexico State Parks or Texas COE parks. I love southern AZ but it' time for a change.

Flaxseed waffles, Ken's lung check up..change of plans..

Wednesday was a stay at home day.  We got up around 0600 and did our morning readings and then got ready for the day.  It was a nice day temps mid 70's or so. We thought about taking a ride over towards Bridgeport, but then decided there would probably be one on Sunday.  Home we stayed.

Sunrise out my kitchen window 😍

Ken's breakfast yesterday..he wanted a waffle, I usually make almond flour
but was out.  Pinterest and I found flax seed waffles..Sausage really
isn't burned like it looks..

There ya go. Very tasty, lighter than almond flour :)

We each worked separately doing some things.  I need to get out with the hula hoe for a bit, but that didn't happen yesterday.  Ken worked on putting bricks around the 5 plants that Karen gave us.  That's to keep the water from running out and staying in a well around the bottom. Looks nice too.

The plants are looking good

I watered the little garden, so far so good. The wind sure came up in the afternoon.  After lunch we sat on the porch swing trying to figure out where we wanted to go this weekend.  We didn't want to go too far as we only wanted to be gone a few days (see this is why we shouldn't have a garden, we like to go)

We finally decided on a KOA in Coleville, CA.  KOA, not our favorite way to camp but it's about all that's open. It's only about an hour and half from here. We planned on leaving Saturday and coming home Monday.  Well, that's all well and good until you call the KOA and find out yes, they're open but you can only stay one night unless you're an essential worker.  She thinks the 15th they'll be open full time. I took the reservation and then called back and cancelled. 1 night just wasn't worth it. :(

So, we'll make a picnic lunch, go for a drive and then when we get home Ken will bar b que. Hopefully soon more campgrounds will open and it'll be easier to go somewhere.

Ken barbecuend some delicious turkey burgers and I made zucchini fries. YUM! I think they were the best I've made so far. I know the burger was delicious.
Ken's hand made turkey patties and zucchini baked fries..😋

Falling asleep was no problem for me, but at 0230 I was awake and my mind wouldn't shut off..geezz.  At 0530 I got the coffee going and brought it to Ken.

We left the house about 0815 heading to Carson City for his lung check up.  Great seeing Dr. Foster and all good news for Ken! YAY! He'll see him in about 6 months just to follow up once more! :)

Walmart and then home to a late lunch. A little clean up and now we're done for the day.

Happy Hour to begin soon. Have a great evening.
