Our Grandson, Jacob (Russell's oldest)..going to 8th grade promotion dance..can't tell from picture but he is 5'11" tall...Every time I see him he's grown more! So handsome!
Saturday morning we decided to go camping for a few days! We got the trailer loaded and ready and off we went. We headed for Turtle Rock Campground (the best kept secret in CA)....NOT anymore..Never have we seen so many people, and the draw...disc golf! All these young men throwing what look like frisbees at these wire type cages...hmmmmm....all the license plates in the campground from the bay area...hmmmm...way too many people for the campground so off we went.
We knew there was Crystal Springs Campground NFS...just a few miles up the highway. No one there..I got out to get the envelope and the campground host said where u been I've been waiting for u. Yep guess he was..but after staying one night we decided to move on. The campground is built on a mountain, ant hills all over, couldn't even enjoy a fire as too many ants! We did sleep well though, 0800 when we woke up.
We did take a nice drive to Silver Lake where we used to camp many many years ago. Those sites are really close together and lots of people there too..but still a beautiful drive.
We drove through Turtle Rock thinking those bay area disc people would be packing up...no such luck. So back to camp, hooked up and headed to Bridgeport and Robinson Creek Campground. We were able to get an awesome site right on the creek and we thought about staying 2 nights, but instead came home on Monday afternoon. I'll be heading over to pick up the grandkids (Thursday 8th grade graduations for Jacob and Seth)..Friday i'll get them all and instead of coming to our house, we're going to head for Robinson Creek..Ken is going to take the trailer there on Thursday and we'll be there late Friday afternoon. Then next Tuesday, Ken will come home and i'll run the kids home.
So today, to Gardnerville and Walmart for grocery shopping for the trip. Funny how plans change so quickly!
I've got some pics to post later...but time to get going!
