We left our motel this am at just past 0800...had a nice breakfast, nothing fancy but cereal, toast, waffles and yogurt. Enough for us.
Had a nice drive along, got lost a few times and ended up going through New York City (which we didn't plan)...and some other way...I'm thinking our 324 hour day was well over 400 miles...any way we found our way here to Newburgh..we should be about 20 mins from West Point.
Had a nice dinner at a place called Irkos Diner..Greek, American, Mexican and others..yummy! We drove around the town, just to check it out. It sits on the banks of the Hudson River. The old town is lovely, just run down. Then you have the ghetto right nearby. Seems like this little town could really be something, but it's not.
Tomorrow we head for West Point and then to Cherry Hill NJ.
That's the one thing about driving, you don't get to take pics..tomorrow though, should be some..
Cheryl texted that Adam got a letter he was selected to be in the National Society of High School Scholars...lifetime membership..awesome!
*just for my mind down the road* The hotel we stayed at was the hotel and conference center. Think it's been along time since they had a "conference" there...old and used..the beds were awesome though! The breakfast this morning, had real eggs, country potatoes, sausage, bread, cereal and bagels..it was awesome! They say they are in a state of remodel, and maybe they are, but I think next time I would stay nearer to Highland Falls.*
