We stopped in Jonesboro and ate Mexican again, delicious! There was plenty left over so we heated up 2 nights worth of mexican at the motel and enjoyed! It was raining and muggy outside..thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Isaac..
Got up Friday morning and decided to visit a Cracker Barrel for breakfast in West Memphis about 40 miles away. Usually love their food and if i'm gonna splurge it's on their biscuits and gravy..well that'll be the last time there. The gravy is thick and looks delicious, but...they obviously are using the artificial smoke in it..and ruins the gravy!! Biscuits are still delicious though.
Headed out and outside of Memphis we took route 64 all the way over to the 65 freeway. Certain it took longer but was sure a beautiful ride. Pretty dry until we got near Don's and then hit some rain.
So this am (Saturday) we are up and it's very cloudy and muggy outside. Looks like we're gonna see if we can get out Chinese food fix in today..haven't had any since we left Winnemucca a month ago..
Update: No chinese food! Darn! Every place we found is a buffet, now one place in Lewisburg says they don't use msg and I do believe them..Ken thinks we'd eat too much but we'll see. The other one in Columbia, had such bad reviews and it looks dirty from the outside..so we may be waiting til Winnemucca in November. We took a nice ride (not on purpose) ended up thinking we were heading towards Pulaski on the back road but actually ended up in Columbia so we went to Shoney's in Columbia. The waitress was a ditz..didn't know what kind of salad dressing they had or hot sauce..Ken ordered wheat bun and then it took her 10 min to bring one out. No experience we plan to repeat!
Hurricane Isaac is bringing some residual heat and humidity along with some rain. So alot of people's Labor Day plans are being ruined I think.
Tonight I made my own homemade veggie burgers! They were delicious and so easy..think they will be a staple from now on! Too much wine, one more time....gotta do something about that!!
