Mount Hope KS here we come!

September 14th..Cornersville to Carthage MO..Got up early and got an early start as we wanted to get as many miles behind us as we could.  Beautiful drive across MO. today.  We decided we didn't want to go through the big cities of St Louis and Kansas City so we took  hwy 60.    THis was a great road and beautiful. In a few weeks the colors should be awesome.  We followed 44 from Springfield and found us a motel in Carthage.  Stayed at the Econolodge and it was really nice.  Had bedroom doors on the outside so you could park right outside your door, then indoor hallways so you could get to breakfast and the indoor pool.  
We hit rain, rain, rain!

Speaking of breakfast, they had biscuits and gravy and the gravy was awesome! You could tell it was homemade which we all know that's what i'm looking for.  So I did sample a bit.  Will definitely stay here again as I do want to visit the Precious Moments Chapel, so I'm hoping we got back that way. 

September 15th...Carthage to Wichita KS.

Left early as we wanted to see the Razorbacks game against Alabama.  So we decided to go. Had a beautiful drive across KS outside of Joplin MO.  I love seeing the country change and another road (Hwy400) was just a great drive.  Had lunch at a Mexican restaurant in Augusta they advertised 99 cent margaritas, but I know why I don't drink them out, as you only taste the sweet syrup.  Asked for white wine but she brought red, and could barely speak english.  I do have to say the veggie fajitas were awesome! First ones where they have used broccoli. yum..

Well we checked into the motel and watched the game. Well coulda missed it, like 54 to 0...Oh well had a nice afternoon..Tomorrow we head for Mount Hope to see Uncle Lester and celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary!

Hopefully Monday we'll see Maryann and Aunt Ola...

Life is good and I love my hubby!  Happy Anniversary Ken! Thank u for such a wonderful life.

We did hear from Lori the realtor, and she said the bank is having the sellers submit some paper work..and it's still dragging..but that's ok as we are not there anyway!!
