I made up a dinner plate for Karen, ran it over to her in the evening. We had a nice chat and decided to hit up an antique store about 20 min or so from here Saturday morning.
Saturday morning we woke up to SNOW! Not a lot just enough to make it pretty. Karen and I decided to put off the antique store for another day, really no reason to go out if you don't have to. After breakfast just kind of did some cleaning, laundry etc.
A short video of snow...
1300 we had a light lunch of celery, cheese, crackers etc. Then the rest of the day we spent like couch potatoes! Nice once in awhile, but definitely not always! The day stayed cold and dreary and we were nice and toasty with a fire going in the wood stove. Watched a few movies and then eventually a turkey dinner once again.
Today it's Sunday still cold and dreary. Both of us said we're ready for another road trip, but not to be with Ken's surgery coming up. We are heading for Washoe Lake State Park for a few days. Ken has his glaucoma appointment on Wednesday so we figure we'll go over on Tuesday and do some shopping in Reno then stay again Wednesday night, come home Thursday. So at least we'll get a little camping in for a few days. :) Better than nothing!
My little kitchen.and it is little...before makeover |
Someone we know and love sent this collage this morning of their views in Arizona...gorgeous! Thanks, DEB!
Our youngest son and his group Sacramento Beer Enthusiasts did a chili cook off fundraiser for Paradise Oaks Youth Services on Saturday in Sacramento. A great group of people raising money to help kids :) A great brewery, Tilted Mash hosted the event.

ReplyDeleteAww..nice to hear from you guys! I have a picture in my mind of what it will look like, if it even comes close I'll be happy. I'll be sure to post updates, probably bore you to tears hahah. Hugs right back at ya!!
DeleteGetting ready to do your Kitchen and will be so nice when done.
ReplyDeleteLike you said any camping is better than none.
Looking like it'll be raining some while we are there, but could be the same here at home so might as well go and get some things done. Sure wish we had your weather!
ReplyDeleteSome lazy days are good for the body and the mind. I love your kitchen!!! It looks cozy and homey. A few days camping is nice to break the ho hum of every day life. Enjoy your time there, safe travels. Good luck to Ken!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb..we will enjoy for sure along with getting some much needed shopping done. It puts us much closer than 2 hours for his appointment tomorrow. I love my kitchen too, especially for as small as it is, but am looking forward to the "new" look which will still be old if all goes as planned.
DeleteThat's a great deal on Nevada camping. I assume that only applies to residents. :-(
ReplyDeleteHope things go well with Ken's appointments. It will put him in a good mood for kitchen demos! :-)
Cheryl sends hugs!
Yes you have to be 65 and a resident for 5 years. It is great for us and we take advantage for sure! Not exactly demo..but major paint job and that is all mine..he will be surprising! haha. Hugs right back to her!! :)
DeleteWhat a great deal, that park pass for a year!
ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to see what your kitchen will look like. Yay, a new project to keep you going until the warm weather returns.
Looking forward to hearing good news also about Ken's appointments. Take care!
