6 year anniversary! Kitchen update! Eric's coming this weekend!

Wednesday the 13th was 6 years ago that we spent our first night in our little piece of heaven here in Yerington.  Of course when we bought this place we knew we had our work cut out for us.  Slowly we've been turning this house into our home and we love it here.  If you look back to Feb and March of 2013 you'll see how it looked then. :0   My only requirements in finding a house was 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.  Ken got his shop and we only paid $58,000 for the "house" shop and 4.65 acres.  Couldn't touch it for that now.  Yes, we've put $$ into it, but most of it was done ourselves (except the city water).  It's definitely us and our personalities and we love it. (Except the lizards ewww)..haha.

Thursday morning, Ken put the hardware on the rest of the cabinets.  Looks so good, simple pulls but gives it the retro look we're looking for.  I ran to town to buy a gallon of grey paint for the walls and to do a little grocery shopping.  I hadn't heard yet if Eric was coming this weekend so figured Friday would be the morning I would run to town if he and any of the boys were coming.

All the cabinets are painted!

I'm so happy with how they turned  out!

Finished!

These are done!!

Ken had his pre op appointment and all is well with that.  Doctor Danny said his EKG showed an extra heart beat now and then, but that's normal with aging. Of course if he gets dizzy or anything to come back in and they'd follow up on that.  His sodium level is on the low side, which is something we never knew could be a problem. We never add salt to anything, and now we don't buy anything that has added sodium. If I buy canned, I always look for no salt added and most we cook from fresh.  Something else to pay attention too.   But he's got the all clear and another great recommendation for the surgeon!

I got home and did some cleaning thinking I didn't want to start painting after lunch.  As it turned out we pulled the frig out so I could paint behind there and then not have to deal with that in the am.  Got that done and I decided to paint the rest of the wall, (you know how that goes).  Our neighbors Karen and John showed up!  We visited with them for a bit so by the time they left, painting was done for the day and i cleaned up the mess.  That's what tomorrow is for right?!
The original cabinets..

Eric texted and said he and Mason (maybe Seth) will be here Saturday! YAY! Ken and I enjoyed the evening with leftovers of Spaghetti, with spaghetti squash for noodles for dinner.

After a night of dreams, the alarm went off at 0500 this morning (Friday) gotta get this day on the road!  Visited and commented with our friends and then I decided to get this posted quickly this am.  Going to run to Raley's and then home to see about finishing the painting.  Have a great one everyone!
