Q mountain, our last happy hour for awhile..

Yesterday morning, (Sunday) we set the alarm for 0445 so I could get the coffee started. Coffee, blog reading and then getting ready to head out the door after breakfast.  We wanted to be a Q mountain at 0800 but it was a little later when we actually got there.

It was still a cool morning and we started the climb up to where someone had planted an American flag.  Up we went and then about half way, I looked up and said, "That's it, I'm done"  Looking up to the last 10 to 15 feet it appeared you had to climb up a rocky, sandy area.  Nope not me. I told Ken I wasn't a monkey and it wasn't happening.  Of course he said it wasn't bad and I could do it.  Na not me.
The view from the top of Q

Not much wind today..(yet)..

Another view from the top

I enjoyed the view I had and watched him go up..I could have sworn I saw him have to crawl to the top.  I knew I was right in not going.  Now, while I'm watching him another guy starts another trail not too far from the one we took. He was able to walk all of the way up without crawling. He took a couple of breaks sitting on rocks but he never crawled.

I could see Ken taking pictures and then he started back down..looked to me like he was crawling down that area too..hmmm.  He did admit, as much as he didn't want to that I was right, there was some crawling and holding on to rocks in that section. Maybe we /he should have taken the other trail, but who knows. Maybe next year we /he can try the other trail.
Lots of atv area for sure..

Walking back long and tall..:)

On the way to George's..free camping area..14 days.

After that adventure we headed towards Tyson Wells and were going to look for some hooks that George had suggested for a shade cover on the awning. Didn't find what we were looking for but they suggested RV Lifestyles and off we went. They didn't have it either so we decided to see where George and Suzie's place was. Found it, but didn't see anyone outside so we went on (turns out Suzie was there, but missed her somehow).  Went ahead and headed back to camp. We took the long way and saw Rick and Kathy's rig but no one outside.  Also, passed Dave and Cheryl's but they weren't outside either so we went home.

Time to put together Ree's casserole (for Monday's breakfast) at Ken's request and made a salad for lunch. It was getting close to 1400 so we decided to head back towards George and Suzie's so we could tell them good-bye.  We thought we'd be staying near them on Monday night, but as plans are made in jello/chalk we decided to go ahead and head out on Monday instead.   We had a short but nice visit with them , hugs all around and then hopefully we'll see them next year.  They will be  heading back to Canada and are planning on some part of TN so you never know.
A happy couple!

George and Suzie's home..

Love this pic of them!

George and his new $7.00 shirt!

He models it for us complete with the vest!

Came home and there was a blue truck parked at Tom and Deb's. I told Ken that's Dave and Cheryl's truck. Sure enough they were there.  Took our chairs over and settled in for a nice chat. Another wonderful couple that the conversation just flows!  What a way to end our last night here!
Great group at Happy Hour.  From left, Cheryl, Ken, Dave
Tom and Deb..:)
George took this pic of us..

This morning we're up and the sunrise that's greeting us is incredible.  We are going to miss this area and our wonderful group of new friends we've made this year. We're heading about 75 miles to Lake Havasu today. Tom and Deb are moving out towards Palm Canyon and George and Suzie heading out tomorrow. By the grace of God we'll be meeting up again in our travels down the road.  When we all met earlier on this trip we were bonded by our blogs..now we're bonded by friendship and that makes us incredibly happy!

Our last morning this year in Q..gorgeous sunrise!

Have a wonderful day!

  5. You're right Shirley. Crawling up the mountain is no way to go. Beautiful pictures of The Q area from there though. Worth the hike.

That George is the only guy I know that can look good in that shirt with a vest.😂
