One happy mom and dad..kids came to visit!

Sunday morning we woke early after a late night next door at John and Karen's. The bar b q was awesome and the company was great!

Bryan, Cheryl and Dustin ( everyone calls him Trip) arrived in the afternoon.  Bryan, Ken and Trip headed out on a little quad ride. I visited with Cheryl and eventually ended up out in the front porch area.  There was a nice breeze so I put out some appetizers just because I could.  The conversation and Happy Hour carried on!
We had a nice rainbow after the rain

Trip heading out!

Good bye Bryan!

John and Karen stopped by to bring an appetizer tray she had made for us.  Very sweet!  They headed home to bar b q and Ken got started on ours.  Papa burgers for dinner along with some fries and onion rings. Once they were finished we had a delicious dinner.
John and Karen..

We were back outside when Karen called and said they had a fire going if we wanted to come over.  Everyone did so we headed over. Much later evening than any of us planned, but a good time was had by all :)

Yesterday (Monday) I was up by 0600, showered and ready to cook some breakfast for the crew!  Bryan had requested biscuits and gravy so that's what was on the menu along with bacon, sausage and eggs.  The gravy actually turned out awesome or so I was told.  I had a little bit with half a biscuit and it was tasty.  You never know with gravy, so I am always happy when it turns out!

It was a late breakfast by the time we were done so it turned out no lunch was needed.
Lucy!

Daisy Duke found a comfy place..these two are the best
behaved dogs ever!

Ken, Bryan and Trip took off on about a 2 hour ride in the desert.  Cheryl went into the bunkhouse, turned on the a/c and read for a bit. I ran to Raley's for a couple of things.

Bryan had requested homemade pizza so I started cutting up all the stuff that was going on them.  Cheryl came in and we made short work it!  She baked a cake for Trip as he turned 35 last week.

Once they were back we sat outside again and I had made some quick appetizers that were enjoyed.  About 1500 Ken's sister Diane made her appearance, just in time for the snacks :)

We all visited and had our Happy Hour (s)...Later in the afternoon we were all treated to a lightning show, thunder and some heavy rain!  It was certainly something to watch and then later a rainbow! :)

The pizzas were cooked and enjoyed on the front porch..good and simple dinner. Then the cake and ice cream were brought out, Happy Birthday was sung and the cake and ice cream were enjoyed!   Trip was surprised as he had no idea!

Two of the 4 pizzas that were made..each one different

One by one people headed off to bed, but Bryan and I sat outside enjoying the star filled skies and just talking.  (Moms of sons you get that right?) :)  He did comment about how proud Popo and Ma would be of Seth. I countered that Yes they certainly would be proud of him! They would also be proud of all their grandsons and great grandsons :) Each one is different and unique in their own way.  All good men! I do sound like a proud mom and grandma don't I?! Eventually it was time to come in so Bryan could eat as he hadn't yet.  We continued talking and I worked on cleaning the kitchen. After a bit we said our good nights.
After the thunder/lightning storm

This morning (Tuesday) I brought Ken coffee near 0630. I had been awake since around 0400 so might as well get up shower and get ready for the day!  More coffee as people started waking up.  Trip wanted pancakes today so got started on those along with sausage, bacon and eggs. Turned out great for everyone who ate.

Nearing 1000 Diane was the first to leave to start her trek to Tennessee. A little after that Bryan and gang headed out to their home in Georgetown, CA.
Trip, Bryan and Cheryl getting ready to leave :(

I spent some time stripping the beds, washing and cleaning the kitchen.  Ken did clean up outside and now we're enjoying the afternoon.

Now to see what the rest of the week brings!  We are headed to Silver Lake, CA on Friday camping until Monday with our friends, KC, Sierra and little Rylee Mae.

My heart is happy that the kids made this visit even though it was short it was definitely enjoyed by all of us.  Hopefully it can happen again soon.  Love time spent with family :) Now to get the youngest son (Russell) to find time to visit us someday! :)

Have a great evening everyone!

Bill isnt as fond of pizza as I am but after seeing your pictures, I want to make some anyway!! Need to pick up all the ingredients first, the biggest challenge! I do get the Moms of Sons comment. :D Does Bryan really eat that late at night?
