Parker to La Posa South...Spending time with friends, meeting new friends..Life is Good!

We left La Paz County Park at around 1100 on Friday to head for La Posa South in Quartszite, AZ. Not  a long drive for sure. Ken went inside the office and paid the $40.00 for camping for 2 weeks. Before you know it, we see the landmark we're looking for the Stinger B!  Yay, we're here.  We pull in and see George and a big smile..Hug #1, then Tom, Deb, Ken, Kim and then Suzie.  We hadn't met Kim and Ken before, but felt like we already knew them from blog reading.
The desert is so green this year!

Still lot's of RVs down here

The beautiful Ocotillo near camp

Got the green and a little red..:)

Kim and Ken's nice home...

Our little home away from home

Tom and Deb's Stinger B..

George and Suzie's home!

We chatted a bit and then got set up in our spot.  It was warm enough I was able to sit outside a bit in shorts and read a little.  Before you know it I see Ken taking a chair across the way to become more acquainted with Ken and Kim who were outside. Ok, me too!  Happy hour ended up  being over there. George and Suzie left about 1730 to get their dinner started.  The six of us hung out until it was dark and cold..hahah..die hards that we are!

We came home, started the heater got warmed up!  We're getting dinner ready and I noticed the trailer was sure cooling down, heater wasn't coming on so I pushed the thermostat up some more..nope, that's it! Ken checked some fuses etc but looks like the thermostat is broke!! So, dinner and bed.

Saturday morning we didn't get up until 0700! AZ doesn't do daylight savings time, so it's an hour later here than NV.  Nice in the evening but it does stay darker in the morning hours.  Got ourselves up, ready, breakfast and then out the door to Q for some running around.  Headed to the gas station for some ice and then the little grocery for a few things. Last stop was RV Lifestyles to see if we could get a new thermostat.  Nope they don't carry what we need. WE did make an appointment for next Thursday to get a little welding done on a part of the sway bar.  We'll be here til Friday when we'll move on a little further south.
Dome rock, lot's of RVs out there too!

Shopping in Q still some vendors there..

Coming home

Once we got home I threw together some cheese, summer sausage and crackers for Ken and I finished the chicken salad we had for lunch the day before.  I decided to make some cheesy sausage balls for Happy Hour, so got that done.  I noticed George and Suzie outside with their drinks a little after 1500 so I headed over with Ken following a few minutes later.  It was windy all day and overcast but that didn't stop us! Haha.  About 45 minutes later Ken, Kim,Tom and Deb joined us after coming back from a Jeep ride. Conversation flowed and we all enjoyed until about 1730 or so.  Ken went home to start the bar b q and not too long after it started raining. Then it quit so he told Tom and Deb to come on out.  They joined us until it got too cold and dinner was done.

Inside for a late dinner and it was delicious! Pork chops, potatoes for Ken and green beans for the two of us.  Bedtime a little later.

Sunday morning dawned with not a could in the sky, can hear the wind but temps are nice.  Not a lot, if anything planned for the day.  We read blogs, had our coffees and then to start off a nice Sunday we watched Paul Harvey's "So God made a Farmer" on you tube and Louis Armstrong's "What a wonderful World".
Our view this am :)

Happy Sunday Everyone!

  3. Daylight savings time starts on 10 March this year. The reason you have an hour difference is because Nv and Az are in different time zones.

Nv is Pacific Time Zone while Az is Mountain Time Zone. Here in Tennessee we are only 1 hour off from Tara in Az but 2 hours off from you in Nv.

Then, when daylight savings kicks in we are 2 hours ahead of Tara.

    1. I really wish the rest of the country would do as AZ and just stay the same all year. I love the extra hour in the evening!

  4. Time zones can get really confusing if you don't know the boundaries.
Glad you made it Safely and Enjoying time with the gang. We seem to be allergic to the cold but will swing by soon.
