Catch up post..Windy days, Good bye to new friends..Wonderful Happy Hours

Monday morning (thanks for the correction Deb) after breakfast and all that normal morning stuff got ourselves dressed and ready to go.  Not knowing for sure what we were doing, but we were ready. Ken talked with George and the sweetheart that  he is had gone into town already to an RV place he knew and asked them about our thermostat.  He came back with a price of over $150.00 and I had checked online and can get one for about $50.00 so we'll wait. That was so nice of him and greatly appreciated!

We headed into town to get some ice and whatever else was needed. On the way we were talking about getting a Mr Heater, little buddy.  We've got one at home we use in the bunkhouse and we love it.  I made a call to Ace Hardware in Blythe and they had two left in stock for $94.00. We made the decision to head that way.

A nice drive along the interstate and about 28 miles or so from here. GIP got us to Ace and we quickly were helped and within a few minutes we were out of there!  As long as we're there let's pick up a few things from Smart And Final. I love that store!  It's an extra store so lots of fresh fruits and veggies! Time to head back to camp.
Beautiful downtown Blythe, CA

Love this store!

We were "hosting" Happy Hour today so Ken and Tom positioned vehicles to help with the wind. The wind still found us haha. Deb brought over some chips, dip and her specialty Beer Margaritas YUM!  I had some summer sausage and cheese ready to go too.  Kim and Ken will be leaving us on Tuesday to head further south.  We have really enjoyed getting to know these two and hope to see them down the road.

It was getting to be bar b q time for George and Suzie, not too long after Kim was cold so she left and then Ken after a bit.  Tom and Deb invited us over to their place to get a tour of their beautiful Stinger B.  WOW!  What a beautiful rig.  We enjoyed some more conversation with them and just enjoyed! A bit later time to head home for a quick dinner and bedtime.

Tuesday morning I was awake about 0500 and got the coffee going close to 0600.  Read our blogs and enjoyed the leisurely morning.  Sure glad we don't have to go to work anymore, we'd never get there! haha.

Grandson, Adam sent me his w'2's so I'll probably see if I can get that done for him. We've got wind this am and temps of 52. Should be somewhere in the 60's later.

Read this am one of the bloggers we have read for several years passed away last week. We figured something happened as he posted daily and they stopped. Rest in peace, Tioga George!

I'm not quite sure why, but even though it seems we don't do much these days fly and I don't get posted! Uhh..

We said good bye to Kim and Ken late yesterday morning. Hoping we'll see them down the road! We ran into town to get some gas and water.  At 1500 we headed over to the Stinger B for Happy Hour.  It was really windy all day so Deb invited everyone inside their beautiful home. Conversation flowed and a little later we had more company!  Rick and Kathy (It's About Time) joined the party. Was really nice catching up with them for awhile.  George and Suzie left and Ken and I stayed awhile longer. A little after 1900 we headed home for dinner.
All of us saying good bye to Ken and Kim

Wednesday morning,  it was windy all night, but now it's calm. It's only going to be about 55 degrees but we'll see what kind of mischief we can get into.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

A wonderful few days there in Q. Too bad about the thermostat but at least you have an extra heater now. Keep on enjoying.

  2. Your welcome guys I thought the Gambler might have your thermostat but it is pretty pricey. But now you have a heater, that is so quiet and efficient we loved our Mr. Heater as well for 10 years.
The days just fly by and even though cooler today with clear blue sunny skies it will feel much warmer.
