A wonderful Cinco De Mayo and nice days at home..

Saturday, we headed next door to John and Karen's place at about 1600.  John's in Tonopah, NV still working so Karen was hosting. We brought in our 7 layer dip and the beer margarita stuff.  There was already some tasty chips, dips, homemade salsa and deviled eggs on the table. YUM. Karen's mom, Izzy contributed all that and it sure was tasty.
John and Karen's place! Wish I had a before pic..it's
amazing from what it looked like before they bought it. It had set
empty for at least 3 years..

Their yard and plants

Karen and her handyman Enrique poured this concrete.

The backyard fire pit..the wall there will house a huge tv and
be enclosed for outside entertainment

We visited a bit and I got to making the drinks. So easy and so tasty! Thanks, Deb of Celebrating the Dance, they were awesome!  Ken drank some too and he's not a hard alcohol drinker.

After a while we moved to side deck and did some visiting. Joe showed up a little later but Rylee was sick so Stacey stayed home with her. :(  Stacey sent over the beans she promised and some homemade tortillas. We sent Joe home with a plate for her.

Eventually we moved to the backyard where Ken manned the bar b q to cook up some marinated Carne Asada. Karen started a fire in the pit and we just enjoyed each other's company. It was a small group but it was still a lot of fun. Got ourselves home about 2230 and called it a night.

Diane wanted to be the first guest to sleep in the bunkhouse so I went out with her and got her set up.

The bunkhouse with Diane tucked inside..

Sunday morning I was awake about 0500 and a little later got Ken up so we could have our coffee and visiting with our blogging friends. Diane came in around 0800 and said she slept well.  Made some eggs for breakfast and she was ready to leave for Bridgeport about 1000.  We said our goodbyes and off she went.
Love this sunrise..

Ken and Diane

I'll see her again on the 20th when I head over the hill by myself for our Niece Chelsea's baby shower.  The shower is coed but Ken says in his 66 years he's never been to a baby shower, so he's not starting now..hhahah. We're doing Mother's Day at my sister's house but Diane will be working.

I did some laundry so I could try out our new clothesline that put up on Saturday. Love it! We've wanted one for a long time, and finally ordered it. After that it was a pretty laid back day.  Daughter in law, Cheryl called and we talked for a long time catching up on things. Ken bar b q ued some awesome chicken for him and a turkey burger for me. It was a pretty early night for the both of us.
Our new clothesline..

Yes we've got wind..

Not so much wind now..

The sky was amazing!

Monday morning, I awoke at 0500 and started the coffee. We did our usual morning visiting and then got the day started.  After breakfast I started in the back of the house cleaning and putting sheets back on the guest bed. Just enjoyed getting things done.

Ken left about 0830 for a dentist appointment in town.  Then he worked on the 73 Dodge, he decided to put new brakes on the back so he took a trip to town, but they had to order them. They'll be in tomorrow.

He joined me in the bunkhouse around 1500 as I was putting sheets back on that bed. Good to go for the next company!

A dinner of leftovers and we'll enjoy the night watching some tv.  Really exciting here in our little piece of heaven. Just the way we like it.  We had nice warm temps near 80 and it looks like it'll continue.
Came across FB this am..and it touched me..because it's
so true!

Have a great evening!
