Now a teenager! |
I'm hoping to quickly get caught up this morning here in Crossville, TN. We've had a wonderful time at Don and Dana's place in Cornersville, TN. so wonderful I just haven't found time to work on the blog..haha.
From the left...Ken, Bella, Jenny and her daddy..Don.. |
Monday about an hour after we got to the Toyota Dealer in Coumbia, TN we were ready to go. No brakes needed until we got home. Not sure how they measure as they said we had more brakes, than we had in Nevada. Oh well..off we went. We visited Kroeger and Walmart and then headed for US Bank to get some $$. Since it was still early we decided to head to Fayetteville, TN and see if the tire was ready for pickup (our new spare for the trailer). A beautiful drive!
Internet is slow here..so here's a few pictures..
Columbia holds a Mule Day celebration..so loved this mural. |
Pulaski, TN |
It was ready, and it was near 1300 so we thought we'd have a mexican lunch at the La Fuentes there. It was closed for remodel. Ok, what to do now. We decided to head to Lewisburg,TN and found La Fuentes there. Ken and I have been to that one several times over the year of visiting. They were open and it was close to 1500 by now. Delicious and we were headed back to Don's place.
The weather people had been threatening storms all day. Not much in the end hit near Don's place. Thankfully. We enjoyed the evening chit chatting and watching some civil war videos which is always interesting.
Tuesday, because we had done all our running around on Monday we were able to stay home and just do a few things. I got the trailer re arranged, checked the pantry and just those type of things. Even paid a few bills. Back inside the house visited some more. It's cold back here. I think the highs are in the high 40's lately. Wind chill makes it seem colder. Still beautiful though. :)
Wednesday morning, we took our time and left Don's place about 1030. We were heading a couple of hundred miles down the road to visit our friend, Clif in Crossville, TN. He and Ken worked together for many years in Sacramento. Cliff retired to his hometown, Crossville. We try to visit when we can and missed last year. We had a beautiful drive on the backroads (freeway would be quicker, but why would we do that?)...
SNOW! |
Crossville, TN ..Golf capital of TN! |
Cliffs house.. |
We pulled into Cumblerand Mountain State Park about 1530 or so and got set up. They had some snow flurries yesterday but there's still close to a dozen rigs this morning. We love this park, beautiful sites, water and electric or some sites have water, electric and sewer. We don't know the price yet, as the office was closed when we went to pay. No iron ranger.
We headed to Clif's house a bit later. He's only 4 miles or so from the park. He had his special spaghetti simmering on the stove! YUM! We visited for a few hours and had a wonderful dinner. It was getting late and so we left, but are meeting him this am at 1000 to see a few things in Crossville.
Have a wonderful day! A quick catch up.
When I get home I'm going to go thru all your pictures from this trip on the pc so I can see them better. Love the houses......Elva
ReplyDeleteYeah I get a little (!) carried away..it's so beautiful back this way..I can't help myself.
DeleteSounds like you are enjoying your time there, but sure sounds pretty cold, glad we here in Oklahoma.
ReplyDeleteWe're planning on going home through Oklahoma too. Have to have my trip through Pawhuska and Pioneer Woman territory..
DeleteNice that you have arrived at Crossville, TN. Not liking the sound of the weather though. We really have to brace ourselves for those temperatures, it isn't long and we'll be crossing into it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit with your friends.
Yeah it's been cold. I would prefer much warmer, but what can you do..layer up..Glad you're enjoying where you are Patsy!
DeleteLooks like you are pretty much giving Tennessee a quick visit. Lots of 'villes' in these back woods down here. Such pretty little places to visit aren't they? I often wonder how they come up with the names.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit!
Happy Birthday Aaron.
Love TN! Well, kinda like Bobby Joe, Billy Joe etc..just add a ville and you've got the name..haha.
DeleteTerrible that it is so cold. Should be much warmer this time of year. At least no road problems and you're able to get around to visit friends. Glad you're catching up.
ReplyDeleteDo you think if I went to that US Bank they would give me some $$?
Yeah a little warmer would be nice! Beautiful roads here in TN and it nice to see people hopefully once a year for as long as we can.
DeleteLoved all your pictures even the one with the snow, from afar...:)
ReplyDeleteCute, and now handsome, grandson.
Be safe.
P.S. If you have a moment check out my Phoenix, Los Algodones....post there is a picture in it for you.
