Fort Churchill State Historic Park ....

Finally got the boys out of bed near 1030.   They love to sleep in..made them their breakfast and got going to visit Fort Churchill State Historic Park near Silver Springs so only about a 30 mile drive.  We had considered taking the trailer and spending the night, as these boys really want to go camping. Glad we didn't after visiting the campground while we were there.  

Paid our $5.00 day use fee and spent an enjoyable couple of hours visiting the ruins of this fort...very interesting place!

We were going to bar b q in the picnic grounds, but once we got out we were ambushed by tons of gnats or some little creatures, could have been baby flies, not sure but we loaded back up and headed for another part of the park that wasn't so close to the muddy water of what is left of the Carson River in that area.   Sunny and no bugs, till we got the bar b q out and they started swarming, so we drove home and had a bar b q then...

Later a few rousing games of ping pong and declaring Jacob the winner!  Ken bar b qued some awesome chicken...I had made potato salad earlier in the day so it was a delicious dinner.  It was a good day!  

Today it looks like we'll head to another part of the BLM land and see what we can do!  Then tomorrow time to take these boys home and pick up the other 3!
