Monday morning we awoke to really cold temperatures here in Yerington. It got down to 19 degrees with a feel like temperature of 17! It was cold for sure! The wood stove sure comes in handy.
It was basically a stay at home day for us. Ken ran to DMV because our pink slip had come in the mail from Toyota so we needed to file for a new one with us as the owners! Yay! I ran to Raleys for a couple of things and then came home.
I made some of our veggie casserole that we like. Ken was bar b quing some pork that we've had marinating for a few days. He stated it around 1800 so I went outside to join him at the front porch area. It had warmed up nicely during the day but as the sun goes down, boy does it get chilly.
WE had our Happy Hour out there and once the pork was done inside we went! A great dinner, some tv and then bedtime. Nothing too exciting for sure!
Ken started the coffee at about 0520 this am. Visited with friends online and then we got the day going. Christina, our daughter in law called while I was doing exercises and treadmill so I called her back. We talked for about an hour and a half(!) I know, but we hardly get the chance to catch up so we did :)
Because of power outages in some areas and schools, the kids and Christina were enjoying an unexpected 2 day holiday.
It was 1000 when I got off so Ken had some Posale (?) that our neighbor Karen had sent over the other day. I had some cottage cheese and fruit to hold over until my salad lunch.
Ken went next door to help take some patio furniture and stuff off the huge deck that I'm going to help Karen stain Thursday or Friday. I made some veggie breakfast casseroles for us in the am. We have to leave early for Carson City so Ken can get another cortisone shot for his shoulder.
We were winding down the day when Karen asked us to come over to give and opinion on what she was doing with a walkway out back. She and John are working hard to get ready for her mom's 75th Birthday bash on the 27th. Took a glass of wine with me and Ken took a beer. We saw the walkway and then sat down oh oh..our mistake hahah. Turned into Happy Hour over there and a nice fire! We got home about 1930. Ken snuck home and brought more libations for Happy Hour. What a good hubby!
Just meant after dinner the blog didn't get posted as planned..
Tried posting a few pics..but didn't work :( New learning experience and I think I know what I did wrong..try again later!
Have a wonderful day!!
Grandson Adam sent these pics yesterday (16th) from the Desolation Wilderness, the top of a mountain in California near Lake Tahoe. Crazy kid! He said it was a tough trail but he sure enjoys that stuff!!
Nice relaxing days are good to have , sure sounds cold there keep warm.
