Thursday morning we got up and decided to head for Gardnerville to pick up a prescription and to hit Walmart for some much needed groceries. After that it was 1300 or so which meant we had to suffer and go to CVI where Carmen greeted us with our drinks and a lovely "Hello Darlings"..she's so cute. She's 70 and still loves working. Then we headed ourselves home where I made up spinach dip and some cheese and summer sausage to take next door to watch the NBA finals with James, who has been watching John and Karen's. Beer margaritas sounded good too, so made up half a batch or so for me and the guys drank their beer. A great time was had by all 3 of us.
My beer margaritas in a special decanter...Thanks Deb D! |
Joe on the other side of us had a couple visiting from Arizona. Keith and Eva are very nice people and have a unique camper and a trailer they're towing. She's done with living in Tucson, AZ so they're headed to Alaska to check it out. The trailer is full of mining equipment as that's what he's into and so is Joe. We invited them to use the bunkhouse and outhouse if they wanted and they took us up on it! We had our first "official" company. Sis in law stayed in it, but she's family so that doesn't count. haha..Not sure if they're staying another night, but they're most certainly welcome.
This morning, Friday I was laying in bed thinking I should get up as it was 0530 when my phone rang. It was James from next door and he was out driving around before he headed for work as Jack and Jill dug another hole and had escaped again! OH NO...Ken's been out several times looking for them, checked with the shelter in town and nothing on Facebook at this time. At this posting, they're both still missing :(( Hopefully there will be better news soon. John and Karen just got home, so Ken's next door talking with them.
I spent the day getting ready for tomorrow as we have to attend our daughter in laws mother's funeral. They have a gathering afterwards so I made a huge poblano potato salad. Not something we're looking forward to, but we have to be there. We've got reservations in Auburn, CA and then we'll head home Sunday.
Yesterday and today were the last days of school for 4 of our grandsons, so a few pics I stole from FB..:) We're trying to figure out what we can do with them this summer. Adam called yesterday and wanted to go hike the Grand Canyon. In checking for an overnight hike you have to have a permit and it may be to late for that. I think Seth and Jacob would enjoy the hike too. Few more years for Aaron and Mason.
From a few weeks ago..Seth's Jr Prom with Jordan taken at the event! |
Pic on the left 1st day of school and then last day of school Mason and Seth.. |
Jacob's 8th grade dance..now he's a Senior in high school.. |
Wow, busy folks. Hope the dogs make it back. Love the grandsons pictures, too cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb we are hoping they come back too..it's the not knowing. Yeah those grandsons have my heart :)
DeleteYou have been busy. Sorry for the family loss.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bill. I treasure the time we can stay home. Just seems it's always something.
DeleteGo go go, do you ever slow down? :)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound like a fence does any good for Jack and Jill other than slow THEM down! Hope they return safely.
Love the last picture of Jacob. Smiling and excited! :)
I love being home but seems there's always something going on. I'm hoping they return home soon. We don't have animals (mainly because we go too much) but we love those two. Kinda like grandkids, spoil em when you see em...but they go home. haha. Yeah Jacob is handsome when he smiles, hard to believe he along with Seth will be seniors this year!
DeleteAs usual you are always on the go, makes life interesting.
ReplyDeleteYes it does George...:)
DeleteThat does it I cannot get behind in my reading again. I am all worn out reading everything you and Ken have been up to...LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying the beer margmarittas. You have officially made me thirsty for one. We are on our way downstate, Lower Michigan, to see our son and his family. Will have to check with our daughter-in-law and see if she has the ingredients. Then she can make a quick batch of salsa and we will be all set. By the way cute glass made out of the water bottle...:)
I love all your pictures of the mounation's on your rides here there and everywhere.
Also, great pictures of your grandkids.
Sorry for your family's loss.
(((hugs))) Tom & Deb
Oh Deb hopefully your daughter in law has all the ingredients handy! Friday night Ken said, how about making some more beer margaritas figuring he's saying that so I would drink them. I said no, I drank them last night so I'm good. He got this sad look on his face..A little while later I said, Do you really want some and he said yeah, but you won't make them for me..He never drinks hard alcohol, but he loves those drinks! So I made another batch..haha. Thanks for reading xoxox
