Linda Collins Celebration of Life..seeing family and friends..

Friday evening we were talking and Ken got me a glass of wine.  Then he said, "How about making a batch of beer margaritas?" I told him I was good as I had had them the night before when we were watching basketball.  I thought he was just trying to get me to make them, so i would drink them. Later I asked him if he really wanted some and replied, "yes, but you wouldn't make them"...haha..so a few minutes later we were both enjoying these delicious cold concoctions ...Thanks, Deb D!
YUMM!!

Joe came over and needed a little help with loading up his friends stuff into the trailer, so over Ken went for a bit. Keith and wife, Eva spent one more night in the bunkhouse and were leaving yesterday to start their trek towards Alaska.

We got up Saturday morning at 0430 to be able to head out the door near 0630 for California.  As we were leaving we saw two people in the field not too far away from home, and there was Jack one of the missing dogs from next door.  The two people were our neighbors Karen and John.  Jack was trying to find his way home and was locked in the field.  John lifted Jack over the fence (which was no easy feat) to Ken and while they found their way out of the field Ken walked Jack home. We lost a few minutes of time, but so glad Jack is home. He looked really tired and hungry.

We arrived at the funeral home with about 20 minutes to spare before the ceremony.  It was a very nice service. Christina (our day in law) put together a very nice slide show with music to got with.  Once it was over and saying hello to people we haven't seen in forever we all headed out to Roseville and a very nice park to have an incredible lunch and afternoon.

Denise and Tasha

The temperature was hot! Lots of shade, along with ez ups so it wasn't too bad. The afternoon wound down and in the end we were the last ones left talking with Eric (our son), Tom (Linda's brother) and Bobby (Linda's husband). He seems to be doing as well as expected after losing the woman he spent the last 41 years with. :(  He's got a lot of people who love him, along with family. I can't even imagine the pain.
More family members

Little Devyn..:)

We got our room at the Super 8, the same one I was in for Chelsea's shower. Jumped into the shower and then just relaxed until we fell asleep.  This morning we're up and going as we're meeting Eric and family at Edelweiss before we head home once again.

Adam texted and wants to drive over on Monday and spend the night. We're happy about that.

Looks like temps here will be about 100, it's 72 degrees right now at 0700..bummer.

We got home at about 1300 after a nice drive home.

I've been meaning to post these since last week..Bryan met some of the guys from work (and retired) for lunch.  Since Bryan's not camera friendly most times I had to steal these from FB..:)
From Left...Van, Rex, Stephen Bashiki, and our oldest Bryan

  1. Nice you got to spend time with family and friends, even on a sad occasion. Remembering good times.

  2. Yay! Thank you Shirley for the smiles!! :D
Great pictures, we know how tough it can be at a ceremony like that but celebrating Linda's life is what she would want for everyone.
    Enjoy your time with Adam.
