But we had a 1000 appointment in Carson City for the truck's 35000 mile checkup. WE left here a little after 0800 and got there just a few minutes after 1000 which wasn't too bad since all the roads were icy and snow covered.
Dropped the truck off and headed over to Minden, as Ken had a stop to make at US Bank, then on to Walmart in Gardnerville. Raley's for our prescriptions and by then it was after 1300..so of course you know what that means...Carson Valley Inn of course. No half a carafe for me as I knew i'd be driving in a bit. After a delicious lunch we headed back to Carson City to pick up the Tundra.
Again, a slow but beautiful drive home. After getting home we ran the 2016 Patriot over to our neighbor Stacey. Joe, her husband went back into firefighting for NDF. He's in Winnemucca and normally would come home today (Friday)..but because of the expected flooding in Reno and Carson City he's headed over there with an inmate crew for the weekend. Long story short...He took Stacey's four wheel drive to Winnemucca and left her his truck which the 4 wheel drive is out and you have to start it with starter fluid..he talked to Ken yesterday and we are loaning her the car for a few days. If we'd have known sooner she wouldn't have had to do without all week. They are good people and great neighbors.
On the way home..that's mountains there somewhere.. |
This morning we awoke to 9 degrees (feels like 1)...it's cold!
Today is a home day.yay..going to try my hand at making black eye peas and ham (got a ham bone left from the weekend)...so we'll see.
Eric is making a table this week while he's home..turning out awesome. They bought four of the metal bar heighth chairs so he's making a table to fit..looks wonderful so far.
The table in progress..now they're trying to figure the finish... |
I cleaned the cab over camper the other day (possibility Eric could be borrowing it)..and decided to make some curtains for the window over the dining area. Those blinds are done! So bought enough material yesterday that as one blind goes, I can make curtains. The cabover is about 12 years old, so guess it makes sense some stuff will start going.
These pics popped up on my FB page...Looks like Don in Tennessee got his first snow this year. Love this place! Old Delina's Country Store, cute as it can be and delicious food! Can't wait to go back when we go to TN! (There's a video posted too..but I haven't figured out how to post it here)..
Old Delina's flag... |
