A busy week and now we're home without grandkids..:(

Last Friday morning Seth, Jacob and me headed for Auburn for the 1030 basketball game. Aaron and Mason didn't want to come so they stayed home. (Turns out Eric and Chris came and picked him up while we were gone, after they went to the bay area to buy Seth a new to him dirt bike).  Diane came and watched too. They won!

After the game we headed for the Folsom Outlets..yeah I know not too bright, but this Grandma is wrapped..haha..we met Adam at La Tapitio Restaurant and had a good lunch and then headed across the street to the Folsom Outlets, actually not as bad as I feared.  Jacob had money he wanted to spend and spend he did! Got himself a nice jacket and some Levi's.  Said good bye to Adam and we headed back to Antelope.  Grilled ham and cheese for dinner for the kids and they were happy.
Jacob and his new duds...

Saturday morning I got them up fairly early and we headed for Marie's Donuts in North Highlands for some of the best donuts ever.  They wanted to go fishing so we headed over to Arden Pond for a couple of hours. No fish but they seemed to enjoy the time.  Then to Walmart for a some shopping and then back home to wait for Ken.  He got there about 1400.

I started making some New Years snacks and while doing that some old friends that used to live on Russell's street stopped by.  We used to go quadding with them along with some others from the street.  Jason and Michelle along with their son Derek...really nice to see them as they live in Redding now and work for the state.  Good for them.
Derek who used to live on the street...
Everett, who was the baby of the street..
his family moved to Rocklin..

So we had a nice night, the kids had sloppy joe's for dinner and then snacks. We made it until midnight..actually more like 1 am and then time for bed.  Don't know when the kids hit the hay as they were still up..
Ham, veggies, clam dip, salami and cheese and other stuff..

Jacob and Seth

Aaron thought he'd like a bloody mary...

Sunday morning, getting ready for the Raiders / Broncos game and more snacks. They lost but still we had a good time watching with the kids. I tell you Aaron knows it all about sports.  Just enjoyed the evening as we left the next morning.

We left Russell's about 0830 and headed for Eric's to take Seth home. Russell and Lori were on an early flight and landed about 1000 hours.  Seth had a new dirt bike to ride, and even though it was snowing (yes snow in Cool)..he rode it a bit anyway.

We got on the road about 1000 and then headed up 80.  Low snow! Lot's of traffic...but worse going west..so glad I wasn't stuck in that horrible traffic, so we agree we made the best decision possible.
Low Snow

Traffic going west bound near Verdi...
stopped all the way to CA ag station ..

Eric is off this week so today he and Mason headed up the hill to Cabela's parking lot to meet with someone with a quad for sale for Mason.  He outgrew his so they were looking at a 250. Got a picture and they got it!  So Mason's a happy camper.

Eric's trip to Cabela's today

Two new bikes in the garage..lucky kids

So the kids are enjoying their dad being home, Aaron started back to school today, Jacob has basketball practice all week and Adam may drive over if the weather improves.  So kinda different not having the grandkids here after New Years, but that's how it goes.

So today Ken washed all three of the vehicles that have been in the snow lately.  I cleaned kitchen cabinets and got rid of all the empty containers i've been saving for leftovers, Thanksgiving etc..looks much better, but probably like my purse it'll last about 2 days.

Got an appointment Thursday to take the Tundra in for its 35,000 mile checkup, so that day will be full.  So we'll just enjoy our time at home tomorrow.

Got a few more pics to load..so i'll b back..
