A drive to Silver Springs

Friday morning we're up and about with our regular morning, coffee, computing, treadmill etc.  Ken asked if I wanted to ride to Silver Springs to look at some roofing for our neighbor's mom's project (just going to call her Susan from now on).  So why not?
I ordered a case for my camera and it showed up right before we left.  Perfect fit!
My new case and a perfect fit

We left here about 1100 and headed the 35 miles to Silver Springs.  Mind you, not much in Silver Springs but this local hardware place, a Family Dollar, Dollar General, Pizza Factory, Subway in the gas station and a Casino.

Because of all huge companies such as Tesla and Google coming into the area the powers that be seem to think Silver Springs will be growing..we'll see.

Anyway, it was a quick visit there, they have the roofing and we got a price for Susan's roofing.
East Walker River high and over its banks

River over its banks..and near the road..news calling for
flooding on the roads next week

This is supposed to be a campground near Ft Churchill State Park
only the cows are happy here now..

Campground flooded..

Carson River flooding into the campground and surrounding areas..

On our way home..Miller Lane

Miller Lane again..water will flood next week

We are curious as to what crop is under these covers..Never seen
this in 4  years..

Fields are green and new life popping up..

Piping for the fields that are getting ready to be planted..

If you enlarge you can see all the pipes to be used and lots are already
gone out of there..it's an amazing project here in the
Mason Valley..

Love the green fields..

Nice drive home and just in time for our salad lunch.  After that I tackled the closet and armoire in our room..gotta be done once or twice a year. Got some more stuff to give to Goodwill..haha along with finding some clothes I didn't remember I had.

After that some front porch sitting for a bit.  Ken bar b q ed some pork chops which turned out awesome!
Our front porch view..

Watching the sun set and the wind blow..

Today (Saturday) we're getting ready to head for Hawthorne, NV and Armed Forces Day.  Never been there for that but should be enjoyable.

We have an appointment Monday morning at Carson City Toyota for the Tundra's servicing. Rather than getting going early on Monday morning as it's 70 miles or so to Carson City Ken thought why not take the Jayco to Washoe Lake State Park and stay again for FREE (well almost, theres a $5.00 charge for an extra car).  We'll be taking the Patriot so we can drop the truck on Monday and then go run around. So another 2 night camping trip! Yay!

Popped up on FB..Our grandson Aaron 7 years ago
He's graduating 6th grade with a 4.0 grade average!
Keep it up Aaron!

He still has that smile!

And he's quite the charmer!
