At about 1030 the snow quit and we made the decision to leave figuring the interstate would be clear and it was...for a few miles...then STOP....we figured an accident..and obviously a couple of hours later of sitting on the freeway we saw a couple of big rigs on tow trucks with front end damage....gee what does that tell ya?! After about 4 hours we moved on and then a few miles again we stopped....damn...and we waited...and we waited...and then we moved on..then the sun is setting and it's getting cold and dark...well that means black ice on the highway...so .....we're waiting one more time...geezzz...then we move on...and we're climbing a hill...tires slipping...4 wheel drive...up we go but we're seeing the big rigs aren't making it...no lie..we're headed over the hill and they're not moving...so off we go...but it's ice and we know..so we made it to Cline's Corner NM...and decided to boondock there...so to bed we went..and then in the middle of the night...it's cold ...of course it was cold when we had dinner..checked the internet and it was 10 degrees...but we ran out of propane in the night and the heater stopped working...we had tons of blankets so we were ok...but still cold in the am...really cold! It was 13 degrees but felt like -2...yep! We went into the little store and got coffee and then after a bit we decided let's go...it was fine..
