A beautiful morning hike and now we're in Lake Havasu State Park!

Wednesday am..we set the alarm so we could get up and get out before it got too hot!  So off we went uphill...but it was beautiful.  We went to the top of the trail and then over the freeway on the people overcrossing to check out the trail on the other side.  Ken's done that trail before, but I hadn't..so we got over there, hiked up the hill (uhhhh) and so I said, well it's only a mile so why don't we continue...yeah I know not the brightest statement.  So off we went, and other than one scary point on the trail, it was certainly beautiful and I am glad we did it!

It was a nice trail!

Got back to camp and it was only 0840!  So breakfast, showers and buttoning up the trailer for our 25 mile drive...grueling!  We left camp a little before noon and headed over to Lake Havasu.  Got our spot and off we went to town to pick up a few things.  Well, that wasn't fun, because this town is very busy this time of year with snowbirds.  Tomorrow will be our day to be tourists...

Back to camp and I made potato salad to go with the awesome burgers Ken was bar b quing..

Then we sat outside and watched the water for awhile.  It was really windy so eventually we came inside, but we have the same view inside looking out with these windows in the trailer!

Talked to Russell last night so it was good to get caught up on the boys, basketball and Sacramento Beer Enthusiasts!

Our last day at Buckskin Mountain..all day enjoying the beauty!

Got up to another beautiful day here at Buckskin Mtn State Park!  We took our time this am as we weren't going anywhere.  Took an early bicycle ride around the park as we figured later it would be too hot.  

Spent some time down by the water just enjoying the peacefulness of the water today...I read my kindle...love that thing!

A nice lunch of chicken sandwiches for Ken and I had salad..yumm...Then some more front water sitting until it was time for the RV walk...Really windy this afternoon, which we hadn't really had before, so we're inside a little earlier than normal this evening.

Tomorrow am we are taking a walk up the mountain, it's a trail that Ken has been on before and I haven't, but figure if we get up early and it's cool i'll go...uhhh...looks like beautiful views though..then we'll get ready to head to Lake Havasu State Park for two nights..

Cheryl talked with Adam's counselor who wholeheartedly endorses the conference Adam has been invited to in Washington, DC so now to find a way for all of us to make that happen for him..

A drive to Parker Dam on the CA side....

Got up and decided to go to Parker and find a laundromat...NOT!  Funny there's so many rv'ers here in this area and we found 1 laundromat in all of Parker..never in my life have I have seen so many people in a laundromat!  So we turned around and left...decided to go to Walmart and get a few items so we don't need a to do laundry for a few more days.   uhhhh...Safeway for some food...


Then we headed for Parker Dam, just crossed over the Colorado River and headed about 17 miles to see this dam.  Really nice ride, 2 lanes and amazing how many rentals and rv's are along this route.

Returned back to the trailer, had a quick lunch and then sat outside just enjoying the view!  A nice RV walk this evening and then Ken bar b qued some awesome burgers for dinner!  One more day here and then to Lake Havasu for 2 days before heading home.  Decided against trying to get the Tundra serviced there as it appears they couldn't accomodate until Saturday...so nope, Carson City Toyota in the near future..

Internet was very spotty at La Paz...so this is catchup for a couple of days...

Friday we ran to Safeway in Parker to pick up a few things and didn't want to fight the crowd on Saturday.. Back to the hard life of camping along the river..a bike ride or two and then we decided to head to the Roadrunner for lunch.  WOW we got there about 1330 and was so suprised to see how crowded the place was!  Figured by then most people would have had lunch...guess not!  Spent a while there people watching and eating some awesome food!  Ok and a drink or two...then back to camp.

Friday evening we decided to walk back down to the Roadrunner and see how the night life was...tons of people again..I wanted to take a picture but figured it would be rude but these old people can party hardy!  Us not so much, so after a couple of drinks back to the camper.  We knew we were setting the alarm (what!) so we could head to the swap meet in the campground next door and see what treasures were to be had.

Saturday...7th...We got up and rode our bikes to the swap meet and walked around a while..got a few things..some old milk bottles and a few more goodies.  Got back to camp and by 1130 we were outta there..

A quick 4 or 5 mile drive (if that far) we are back at Site A here in Buckskin Mtn State Park.   Love this place..We'll be here till Wednesday and then we're heading another 30 or so miles to Lake Havasu State Park for 2 nights.  Going to see if we can get the Tundra serviced as it's almost time for its first 5000 mile service.

Thinking we may drive to Lake Havasu tomorrow just because.  Today it's just sit and enjoy this lovely weather (supposed to be 84 today)...

Cheryl called and said Adam got a package from the National Student Leadership Conference inviting him to represent Golden Sierra High...(of course they don't pay for it, but guess it's a big deal to be invited) Cheryl's doing some more checking, but thinking that would look awesome on his resume for college or even a Military Academy..so we'll see what happens with that..guess that 4.0+ grade point average helps out!  

Day trip to the Big Q...

We knew this am that we were going to head to Quartzsite today just to be nosy and check out how many RV'ers were still there.  We had a nice bike ride around the campground before we left.  

Had a great drive to Q.  The traffic coming north was incredible.  We did see before we left Parker that there were lots of RV's boondocking near town!  What's going on...?  Turns out there's a big race the Parker 425 going on this weekend.  Lot's of big money in town!

Amazing the amount of people still here...with the flea markets..

So we headed to Quartzsite about 1030 or so and it's only 35 miles or so from here.  We were surprised when we got near how many rv's are still there!  So we played tourist and stopped at the flea market in town.  Saw lots of stuff...but nothing really jumped out at us and anything that did we couldn't afford.  We would like to buy an ore cart, but the one Ken liked was $1000.00 or more...so no on that...

I found a milk glass with cream separator that I liked so got it...Thanks Grandma Gardetto used your Christmas $$ on that.  

We went to lunch in Q at the Stagecoach Restaurant...nothing fancy but it worked...probably wouldn't go back..then headed back to the campground.  

Nice and warm, but when the sun goes down..really cool temps..
