Our sunset tonight!!

Got another late start today..but that's ok!  We went to Pahrump, NV and stopped at Wal Mart...OMG the elderly people in that town..felt like I was in the Florida of Nevada!!  So many people!  That town was a little hole in the wall many years ago..now it looks like they were hoping for growth and planned for it but the recession happened.  Now there may b more growth but it's all based on the elderly...trust me...saw it at Walmart!!

Got out of there and had a beautiful drive!  Really, people don't see what Nevada has to offer but we sure have seen it the last few days (2 days on the road and NO Kindle....that will tell people that no me that there was too much to look at)...

Had lunch (late) at a gorgeous rest stop and then we headed for Searchlight NV which was along the Joshua Tree Highway...Incredible!!  Love the Joshua Trees!

At Searchlight we hit highway 95 and were headed towards Needles, CA and the KOA we've stayed at many times..but I was about 1630 so found a nice little rv park at CAL-ARI_NV (yes that is the name of this town)...$18.00 for the night, full hookups and showers...so here we are..we plan on making Parker AZ tomorrow..but again who knows...Lake Havasu??  so we'll see....like Ken just said...Not gonna sweat it ...as I'm loving my vacation!!

292 miles yesterday and just about 200 miles today...my kind of ride!

On the road...the Barracuda is a conversation starter!!

Lunch at rest stop on 95

Definitely haunted!!

Our site at Amargosa Valley, Nevada...just outside Death Valley

The RV park...
Our view out the back of the camper....

We left home about 1100 this am and headed down 95...about 1300 we stopped and had lunch at a rest area.  Headed on knowing we're going to end up at Amargosa Valley RV Park...we've been here several times and the host, Dennis remembers us!  Such a nice man!

Tomorrow we're headed to the Needles CA KOA where we've been several times.  Then on to Parker AZ and the county park for a day or two...Love that place!

While heading down 95 and in Beatty NV we noticed a group of people outside their RV's  for happy hour I am sure...watching the traffic go by! Awesome!!

No matter where we stop the Barracuda is a conversation starter!  We love it!...when we came back from TN the last time our yard art was the starter...Nice how many people remember "back when I".....

Tie wire...the fix all for everything!

Headed back out to Winnemucca yesterday (Sat) to pick up the little 19 foot fifth wheel. get the rest of the stuff from the property and clean things up.  Got there and Ken greased the wheel bearings on the 19 footer and I vaccummed the shed and got things nice and clean.  We did a little burning on the property and I have to say it looked pretty darn good.

We finished mid afternoon so decided to go visit our friends Ron and Deanna for awhile...had a great visit...they are the best people!  Steve came over and visited too so it was really nice.

Got back about 1800 and enjoyed the evening.

Got up this am, hooked up and cleaned the concrete and got ready to go.

Really kind of bittersweet, because when we bought this property we thought we'd have it for life and eventually build a home there.  It's a beautiful place, with great mountain views and wonderful neighbors who appreciate the beauty as we do.  Believe me, I'm not sorry we had the property, or the fact that we've decided to put it on the market.  We still believe that ending up in Yerington, NV was meant to be. So all things happen for a reason and now it's time to let go.  Don't know how long it will take to sell the property, but that's ok.  We will still have a vacation spot, but it's no longer "home".   Our "home" is in Yerington and we are very happy here.

We left waving good bye to Ruby...our adopted dog when we are there.  She lives down the road, but she must hear our truck, because we are there no longer than a few minutes and here she comes.  Love that dog!

So we left about 1030 this am...not 20 miles out of town towards Fernley..Ken looks in the rear view mirror and the door skin, window, and guts of the door flew off behind into the freeway...Ken pulled over and gathered up all the crap.
So we tie wired the screen door and the frame of the main door and headed down the road.  Then later we're watching out the rear view and something is coming down from the bed..so it's the reflective material sneaking out the frame..so he pulled over just as it dropped out...Now our little fifth wheel is parked and we'll be donating it after we get back from TN.  Have put enough money in it..so time to say good bye.  It's 21 years old so really can't complain much.  I can still remember the feeling signing papers on it (for 116.00 a month) and the butterflies in my stomach.  We've sure made some good memories of the country in that little rv.

We're definitely not done traveling so we're thinking there's one more rv in our life.

Our set up before it blew apart!

A busy week and we signed papers for the Winnemucca properties to go on the market!

Well, it was a busy week...got home Sunday afternoon after my weekend with the grandkids.  Ken made an appointment for Monday to get the windows tinted on the 97 Ford pickup...so we went to the place in Gardnerville and it was closed...they were working out of their Carson City office.  So we headed there, dropped off the truck and headed out for a couple of hours.  They did an awesome job on the truck...I'm going to take the Patriot there and get my front windows done, as they have what's called "Nevada Legal" works for me as this sun is soooo strong.

Tuesday,  we headed out to Winnemucca for a few days to get the property ready and sign with our realtor...which we did.    We painted our little shed just to freshen it up...funny I thought it was fine, until we started painting, and yes, it needed a new coat of paint..

We did have a nice lunch with a couple of our friends in Winnemucca yesterday..Steve (a former Marine) and Deanna (they are not together, she is married to Ron) met us at Las Margaritas and we had a nice afternoon!

Today, we headed home to Yerington, with a trailer full of stuff from the property.  We parked it, and are headed back to Winnemucca to pick up our little fifth wheel and bring it home.  So we'll stay the night tomorrow and then come back on Sunday.   We are trying to get ready to go to TN and TX hopefully by the end of the week!

Weekend with the grandkids!

Well it's been awhile and I have to admit I've been having a bit (well quite a bit) of grandkid withdrawal...I needed a grandkid fix! So Friday morning I headed out...leaving Ken at home with a list of "honeydoos" and headed for CA.  I got to Bryan and Cheryl's house a little after 0900 and then Adam, Mia and I headed for Roseville to meet up with Linda and Bobby for an early lunch at On the Border Mexican.  It was delicious and nice to catch up a bit.  Then the kids and I did a little grocery shopping and headed to Russell's house in Antelope to pick up Jacob and Aaron for the night.  Found a park in Rocklin so they could play some Basketball for a couple of hours and then to the motel room in Rocklin for some Little Caesars pizza for dinner.

Today we got up about 0700 and got us a little breakfast and headed over to Hardwood Palace to meet up with Seth and Mason and to spend the day watching Jacob play some Basketball on his team.  Inbetween games we all went to Woodys for some lunch and then Jacob and Aaron went home with their parents and the rest of us found another park for awhile and then to Wendy's for dinner.  WE're back in the room now for the night and then after breakfast tomorrow we'll slowly head back to Cool and Georgetown and then i'll head back home to Ken.  Monday am we have an appt in Gardnerville to get tinted windows on the 97 Ford truck..time is sure going by fast!!

Glad I got my grandkid fix and spent a little time with the adults too.

Tomorrow is Eric and Christina's 12th wedding anniversary...Bryan and Cheryl just celebrated 15 on the 4th...March is a busy month!

The weather was awesome...mosquitos were out and that sucked! Literally!

Winnemucca Ranch Hand Rodeo and getting stuff off the property...

It is beautiful....just too far away from the gkids!

Our neighbor Matt...

Thought these boys were just too cute with their ropes!
Growing up right and getting started early!

Friday the 28th we left home and headed for Winnemucca.  We got here just in time to have lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant in town and then headed on out.  It was cold but a nice day.  Ken did some work out back of the property and our neighbor, Steve came over and visited with him for a bit.

Yesterday morning we got up and headed out to town for the 25th annual Ranch Hand Rodeo.  We went last year and loved it so figured we best do it again!  It was over about 1500 hours so we came home, loaded it some more stuff in the pickup and headed for the dump..Had a nice quiet evening.

This morning we set the clock for 0500 so we could get to the fairgrounds at 0800 for their Cowboy Church.  We went last year and the same people were doing it this year, so glad we went.  The pastor Bo Lowe and his wife are great speakers.  She has an awesome singing voice and sings with such passion we love hearing her.  He is just so "down home" explains the scriptures so simply you can't help but feel it!

The rodeo started at 1000 and we left about 1500 after our neighbors did their last event.  We were feeling pretty stiff and sore after two days in the hard seats.  Next year we need a cushion.  We love this event!  U see how the "real" cowboys work with the animals..

Tomorrow we've got some business in town and a lunch date with our neighbor Deanna at our favorite Mexican Restaurant in town.  We'll head home on Tuesday but we'll be back next week so we can paint the well house and then get it ON the market!
