Last blog we were at Ogilby Road, just over the California line with friends. Now we're home in Yerington. Time just flies too quickly, can't believe we're going into March next week!
We arrived at Ogilby Road on February 14th, Valentines Day just in time for Happy Hour! We got our chairs and enjoyed sitting around for hours just catching up with everyone. We met John and Brenda too for a few hours. Keith, who was heading out towards Canada even came for the night before heading out the next day. Later in the evening we had a fire (thanks Tom) and Ken Wilson serenaded us with songs and his guitar. Ken is a very talented man, not just with the music, but he's quite the baker and gardener too amongst other things too I'm sure. It was a great evening.

This is actually from Friday as I was bad with pictures. Deb, Tom, Jerry, Ken and Kim is there too. |

Riley, Deb, Kim |
Thursday morning we took our time and then near noon, Deb invited us over to see her new to her home. A beautiful fifth wheel that her and daughter Riley live in full time. Before we knew it we had chatted for about 2 hours and then it was time for Happy Hour! Again, another beautiful day with warm temperatures and sunshine.
Friday morning dawned beautiful once again. I could sure get used to this! We just enjoyed time outside visiting. Ken and Tom headed out to look for some wood in the early afternoon. Right around 1400 Jerry and Elva came to visit for the afternoon. Elva and I worked together in the 80's at an elementary school as teacher aides. Several years ago we got together on Facebook through a mutual friend. They spend their winters in Wellton about an hour from Ogilby Road. It was great they came out as everyone wanted to see them too! A great afternoon was had by allπ

Later in the evening Tom got a nice fire going and we enjoyed another night of fire and music courtesy of Ken. Good times!
Saturday morning came all too quickly and it was time for us to head out. Hugs all around and we headed down the road.

A beautiful sunrise out my window |
We were hoping to get a spot at Buckskin Mountain once again but the sites that we could fit in were all taken. So we headed to the next park a couple of miles down the road. River Island State Park. A very nice park, but not much of a river view. Of course all their sites were full, but they had the boat parking area they use as overflow. Ok, works for us. $20.00 a night, basically in a parking lot but we don't care. You have access to the dump station, bathrooms, showers if you choose to use them. We have our own, so we didn't.
Got ourselves set up and then it's Happy Hour. Another warm day, shorts weather YAY!

River Island State Park |
This is where we spent our Champagne Sunday too. I found the cauliflower pizza crust that I thought had mysteriously disappeared. It slipped behind the shelves, folded itself in half and then was behind the vegetable bins. π± I only found it because when I pulled a bin out, it wouldn't go back in. We were able to make cauliflower pizza rather than the low carb tortillas. π
After having brunch we headed out to the beach area where they had a picnic table. Spent the afternoon watching the river and some boats go up and down. 80 degrees!

The beautiful Colorado! |
Ken barbecued some burgers for dinner and they were yummy!
Monday morning got ourselves ready and headed out for Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge where we spent the night heading for AZ. No problem getting a site, actually the same one we got before. It was cold, no more shorts or flip flops to be worn! Ken started a fire in the little red campfire for awhile so it was nice to be outside.
Tuesday morning we headed for home and arrived here about 1400. The wind was pushing us all the way. π We unloaded what we had to and then headed next door to see the furry children. Mugsy and Lila were ecstatic to see us. Karen closed the store early and joined us there. Got caught up on all the goings on and enjoyed a few adult beverages. πΊπ·

Heading into Hawthorne, NV beautiful Mt. Grant |
Yesterday was a day of unloading and cleaning the Mansion for whenever the next trip happens! Seems as though never ending laundry had to be done too! LOL. I'm not a fan of laundromats so glad we had enough clothes with us to make it through.
Ken said in the am why don't we do Linner instead of dinner? Works for me as I prefer to eat mid afternoon like we do when we go out to eat. No dinner needed. We decided on hamburgers and fries.
About 1300 we headed out to the outdoor kitchen and he started a fire in the outdoor fire ring. He got the barbecue going and I started the fries on the griddle. Between enjoying the fire and a few adult drinks we were ready to eat about 1500. Perfect and delicious! Back out to the fire after linner. Around 1700 we headed next door for the evening with Karen and the pups.

So yummy with that anaheim chili! |
Today was a day of chores. Ken's been outside all day moving the Mansion to her place, then the cargo trailer and other things! I had most things I wanted to get done finished by 1330 when we had lunch. Blog was next on the list!
Tomorrow we'll leave here early for Ken's cardio appointment in Carson City at 0820. Because my refrigerator is empty, time for a Walmart stop and a few others.
It was an awesome trip, just too short, but better than nothing! Love all our friends from Kingman, to Michigan and Canada!ππ We met because of blogging, amazing isn't it!?! Such a good life we have! π

Stole it from FB. Eric finally got to go snowboarding with the kids! Mason, Seth and Holly! ππ |

Before I go, I forgot to say Thank you last blog to Doug and Michelle for getting us the spot next to you and for the pizza, along with the great time! π
Karen's home so headed over for an early happy hour! Have a great evening!
