A quick catch up :)

 Time just keeps flying by way too fast! So here we are on Thirsty Thursday once again. If we were at Russell and Lori's I'm thinking we'd be joining them out somewhere for a few adult beverages! Not this week though. 😒

We had our usual Champagne Sunday and enjoyed that in the outdoor kitchen once again. This cauliflower pizza is sure addicting for Sundays.

half. Chicken, onion, mushroom and cheese. Ken's the 
combo mainly. Oh so yummy. 

It was a beautiful Sunday to be outdoors! 

Monday I got another package out to Jacob. Last one took about 2 1/2 weeks to get to him on that big ship. I was beginning to think I'd have to go to a big city Post Office to get the job done, but finally the guy at the second post office in town got it right!

Tuesday we headed for South Lake Tahoe with the car hauler to pick up some firewood from a Facebook Marketplace ad. A tree service was offering it for Free and boy did they load us up. Won't be going back as the rounds are huge and it'll be another year or more before they'll be usable. Mostly pine so we won't burn it in the house but for outdoor fires. A lot of work for Ken getting those rounds off the trailer. 

Wednesday, I spent the day working on Adam's taxes. I made sure I can get into our tax program to send to the CPA in Winnemucca too. I need to just get it done and over with. 

Today we're dealing with lots of wind here. Ken's been outside most of the day working on the firewood. Power has gone out once already and the internet is still out! Thank goodness for mobile hotspot! 

Ken makes his last truck payment tomorrow! Woohoo!

Saturday in Auburn with family, Champagne Sunday, cauliflower hash browns?

 Saturday morning we left home about 0730 to head over the hill to Auburn, CA. We were meeting Russell and family along with Eric for lunch. 

Back in December when Jacob came home for the holidays we loaned him our 2008 Jeep Patriot so he'd have something to drive. Now it was time to get it back and it worked out perfectly on a Saturday. 

We had a great lunch too at Old Town Pizza in Auburn. Before you know it though it was time to head out as we don't like to drive in the dark and it was still a few hours back to Carson City where we were spending the night.

Sunday morning we were awake early and left the Days Inn around 0745. We got to Betsy's Big Kitchen where we were having breakfast. Perfect time to get there as there weren't many people there yet. Weekends the place is packed from breakfast on! 

We headed home after and of course it was Champagne Sunday. We had an open bottle but he couldn't find anymore! Oh no! 😂 We switched it up a bit and he enjoyed a couple of bloody marys. It was definitely a good day. Nice to relax and have basically nothing to do.

I knew there had to be more somewhere! LOL. 

That doesn't last too long for Ken as he's always finding something to do. 

Yesterday I saw on FB a woman was grilling on her Blackstone and mentioned cauliflower hash browns. Hmmm...so I made some and we had them for breakfast this morning. Not like hash browns, but delicious. Ken told me I can make them anytime I want. Only 2 carbs per serving. Win!

Ken's been out getting more wood chopped. Good thing we have a log splitter LOL. Now he's working on changing out our electric jack on the Mansion. It stopped working on the way to Arkansas last time. The last two days have been beautiful here. That changes tomorrow. 

Tomorrow we head for Carson City for an echocardiogram for Ken in the am. Then it's Total Wine and Walmart for some groceries. The day and the month will be gone by then. They just go way too fast!

Saturday we headed for Home Depot to get some more flooring to finish up the house.  

Sunday was our weekly Champagne Sunday. LOL.  It was a beautiful day here. Nothing like the last weekend when we had to be inside because it was just too cold.

Saturday I had prepped all the fixings for our cauliflower crust pizza. Oh so yummy!  I tried to cook it on the griddle, but it looked like the crust would burn before the toppings were done, so took it inside to the oven. 

We did enjoy being outside, Ken made a fire and it was perfect. 

Later in the afternoon we went next door for an early Happy Hour, even though I was pretty happy before going there! 🥂🍾

Monday and Tuesday were spent on getting the flooring finished. Tuesday at just about 1700 the last piece went down! 😁😁 Happy people here!

Today was spent on finish work and I did some painting of baseboards and of course now the door jambs look dingy so gotta get those done. 

Ken was able to get his workshop off the front porch and we're getting things back to normal. Tomorrow is a trip to Home Depot, we need one more transition for the hallway into the laundry room and a few other things. 

Last night we had a yummy dinner. Broccoli cheesy stuffed chicken breasts. Saw this recipe the other day and had to try it. We'll be having it more often.

Last Friday night we spent in Wendover, UT right at the Nevada border. There's lots of Casinos to stay in that town, but no place for parking a trailer. We ended up at the Motel 6 which was ok. Lots of parking for the trailer. 

We got started really early on Saturday so we could end up at home that afternoon. We got to Fallon, NV around 1300 and stopped at Stockman's for lunch. It was good, but the prices are so jacked up high we probably won't go back.

Pulled into the driveway around 1430 and got some stuff unloaded. Then it was Happy Hour and since we hadn't seen the neighbors and Mugsy and Lila in awhile we headed over for the evening. 

We were home for Champagne Sunday and enjoyed the day. Not a lot got done, but that's ok. It was cool and rainy, such a change! Later in the evening Ken started a fire in the outdoor kitchen, because it was really needed!

and other tie downs. Darn this wind!!

Monday was a trip to Gardnerville for some serious grocery shopping LOL. 

Yesterday morning we left here about 0615 to head for Sacramento and some visiting. Ken's brother Don is here visiting from Tennessee for the week. 

We had a nice couple of hour visit with him along with friends Jim and his brother Brian. Jim and Ken went to high school together and Don and Brian were best friends then too. Brian lives in Idaho and corresponded his trip during the time that Don is here 💙 I can't think of the last time we've seen Brian probably a good 30 years, or even more. Jim, we actually saw last September out at our house. Always nice to visit.

We left there and headed over to Antelope, to pick up my car that grandson Aaron has been borrowing for a few months or so. He got a new to him one a few weeks ago. Picked it up, freshly washed and cleaned inside along with a full gas tank. Thanks Russell and Aaron! 💙

From there we drove up the hill to Carson City. We got a motel there as Ken had to be to the cardiology center for a stress test at 0645. Beats a one way 90 minute drive that we'll do tomorrow and Friday. Those appointments are later in the morning! 

We were home today by 1200 so we pulled out some leftovers and had lunch. Watched a movie and then we separated to our own chores. Mid eighties so it's really nice. 

It's official! Our son Bryan is officially retired from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office! Congratulations Son!! They've got a heat wave going on in Heber Springs, AR. Just checked temps and it's 98 feels like 112, a little cooler than the last couple of days LOL. Thank Goodness for air conditioning! 

Last but not least, Jesse sent me this picture the other day. Owen attended his first Oakland A's game with his dad and Uncle Jesse :)
