Christina and I got to Linda's house and started covering tables, putting out chairs and decorating for the party. We got the things done and people started arriving. It was a beautiful day and some of the kids went swimming in her beautiful pool. ( and I didn't get pictures :( ) Eric arrived and we cut the huge sub sandwiches and put out the fried chicken. Buffet style so everyone could eat whenever they wanted.

Once we got there a few things along with the left over food were unloaded. After that Happy Hour at Eric's fire pit. Eric started a nice fire, as it had really cooled off outside. Even though we were tired, ended up staying up until 2330! We said our good nights and off to bed we all went.
Sunday morning we slept in until about 0630. Had our coffees and visiting with blogging friends online. Ken jumped in the shower and I headed up to the house to see if Mason wanted grandma to fix breakfast. Yes, he did. I fixed him pancakes and an egg sandwich for Eric. Later as Ken came in I fixed ours. Christina is on a liquid diet as she's having surgery next week. No breakfast for her :(
Slowly got ourselves ready to head for home. About 1100 we both headed out. I followed Ken up highway 50 and at Hope Valley he pulled over and we had lunch in the trailer. Then I headed in front of him as I was stopping by Raley's to pick up his prescriptions. Then I headed home.
When I got here, he asked how my drive home was? I told him I was so tired I thought I was going to have to pull over and take a quick nap. He said the same thing happened to him, guess all that hanging out partying with Eric for two nights did us in :) haha. We only unloaded what was needed for the evening and then relaxed a bit. Karen had texted and we decided to get together for Happy Hour and we were anxious to see what had been done in her yard since we were gone. Had a nice visit but not a real long one as we were all tired.
Came home, got some dinner and pretty much called it a night.
This morning we slept in until almost 0630! I got up at 0600 and started the coffee. We enjoyed our morning and then time to get things done. Because it was going to be about 90 degrees today I did a little baking. Banana bread for Ken and flourless peanut butter cookies. We have missed our little morning treats. Time to clean the trailer and refrigerator. Ken kept himself busy all day as did I. This day went way too quickly!
Picture is red because sun shining through my red and white kitchen curtains..my breakfast of 90 second almond bread and egg beater omelet with radishes..oh yummy! |
Flourless chocolate chip cookies..yum |
We are invited over to Karen and John's for a bar b que. John surprised her by coming home for a day or two before he has to go back to work in CA. We'll head over there in a bit.
