A little work, football and today is September 11th...

Yesterday (Sunday) was all about being lazy.  We started the morning early, Ken headed out back to work on the septic/water line and I headed out front with my wheelbarrow and hula hoe.  Did what I could but then decided to wait a week or two and the ragweed should have turned to tumbleweed and should hula hoe easily.

Ken got quite a bit done, encountering more big rocks in the digging.  He was able to get another piece of pipe and water pipe in the ground.  Now he's across the driving area so he's getting close to where the outhouse will go.

Ken's digging..making progress...

Sewer pipe and water pipe..

Some big rocks had to be dug out...

Then breakfast and I got some munchies together for half time.  The Raiders vs Tennessee Titans game was on at 1000 hrs. and we were watching.  We don't watch a lot of football games but this one we did.  They didn't show the National Anthem on this game, but they showed Houston Texans beginning.  Clay Walker did an awesome job on the song!  They also put the American flag out and had the eagle fly over. Very impressive, had me bawling.

So we enjoyed a Bloody Mary for Ken and I had a screwdriver..it was special you know?!  Munchies at half time and then before you know it..game over Raiders win!  We were actually rooting for Tennessee..maybe next time.

Clam dip, veggie dip, veggies, cheese chunks and a few deviled eggs..

Dusty, Owen and Grandpa Don..You can tell these are some happy
guys!

The rest of the day flew by with not much getting done.  Ken cooked up some awesome burgers and I made oven fried french fries for dinner.  Then of course, some front porch sitting.
Yum!
Our front sunset happening..

From the backyard..

This morning we awoke about 0600 and enjoyed our coffees and checking in with blogging friends.  WE had cottage cheese with fruit for breakfast and talked about what to do with our day.  Decided to stay home and get a few things done.  Ken's outside digging now, while it's still cool.  I'm going to finish this up and do some inside stuff.  We've been talking, trying to decided where to go for our anniversary this weekend.  Haven't decided, but we've still got time.  Tomorrow time to run to Gardnerville, as it looks like some of pills have been filled.  We both have taken Atenenol for high blood pressure for years, Ken has taken them since he was in his 20's and me the last 7 years or so.  Well now there's a nationwide shortage!  So it looks like they'll have to be changed, guess we'll see how that goes.
Seth played football Friday night, Baseball Saturday morning..

I love this picture of Seth

Aaron's team Champions once again!  That's Aaron under the H

Today is September 11th...16 years since that horrible morning that affected so many lives and so many were lost.  Saw this one on FB this morning that Don sent his daughter, Tara.  Once a year on this day, Don flies the same flag that was flying at their house in CA that morning.

It flies in TN now..Always Remember..Never Forget..

  1. Looks like you had some busy-ness and some relaxing time. Love the half time drinks idea! We don't follow sports of any kind, just not our thing. We are all different and it doesn't matter. :)
Watched a program called 9/11 last night and it seemed like it just happened all over again. Horrible! On that day in 2001 I had to keep focusing on my son's 22nd birthday so as not to lose touch with the good things. I didn't want him to be upset about the day his birthday fell on.
