Boys are still here :) Walmart and Lowes..Spraying and a quad ride!

Saturday afternoon we headed over to Karen's and visited with her family.  It was later than planned but that was ok.  She had a fence painting project going on so that was great to watch.

She bought lots of paint and gave the side fence to her family to paint however they wanted.  They certainly have talent in that family.  We were invited to paint a section too.  UH NO...there's no talent here! LOL.
Karen's mom Izzie did this scene of Hawaii Sunset..

Youngest grandkids..Nico and Cameron

The heart is Karen's...You are my sunshine..daughter Isabel :)

Dinner was buffet style, eating whenever we wanted.  Aaron didn't come over so about 1800 I ran him a plate home. WE had great dinner of brisket and all kinds of sides.

Easter Sunday we slept in until 0630.  Not much going on so it was a pretty usual day.  Ken, Mason and I ran next door around 1500 to watch the kids hunt for Easter eggs.  Visited a bit and then back home, Ken was bar b quing some pork for dinner.  I bought 2 hams the last couple of weeks, but decided to wait until there's more company to cook them.
Time to look for eggs!

View from the back yard...

Dinner was delicious with pork, mashed potatoes and a mish mash of green beans, kidney beans and great northern beans.  MY dad used to make that concoction up and that's what Mason wanted.  Oh so good!!

Ice Cream, of course for dessert for the boys. :)

I was planning on meeting Lori on Monday to return the boys, but they both texted their moms and they're staying until Friday!

Monday morning I chatted with Christina for a bit and then got the day started.  It was a beautiful clear day but the wind never quit, so temps never got too warm. I ran to Raleys for more ice cream and a few other things.

It was one of those days, I just couldn't think what to make for dinner.  There was some leftover pork and things.  Turns out the boys wanted grilled ham and cheese (no cheese for Mason) sandwiches.  They are so easy, those boys.

Ken and the boys headed out about 1400 for a 2 hour + quad ride. They've been waiting for the wind to die down, but who knows when that'll happen.  They had a good time, finding new places to go.

Tuesday morning woke  to a chilly am.  22 degrees with a feels like 18 because of the wind.  BRRRRR.. it's nice and toasty in the house, Ken kept the fire in the wood stove going over night.  Still say it's the best thing we did to this house, putting that in.
Ken and I headed to Fernley, NV (50 miles one way).  A trip to Lowe's is needed and Walmart too.   We've seen commercials for Papa Murphy's Pizza, there's one in Fernley so we decided to pick up a couple for dinner. Haven't had that in probably 2 years.

After we got home, fixed brunch for the boys and put away groceries. In that order as they were starving :)  They were both working on homework when we got back.

Later in the afternoon the boys took a quad ride.  Ken and I ran 10 gallons of weed killer through the sprayer.  A lot easier this year as his shoulder isn't in a sling :)  Weeds are not bad now, so a good time to spray! Beautiful afternoon for sure.

Pizza was delicious. Not something I'll do again, as I didn't sleep well. By 0300 I was awake.  Finally drifted off nearing 0430 and up at 0600.  We're slow going this am...haha.  Ordered Eric's birthday present and we ordered ourselves a small retro looking fridge for an area in the kitchen. We'll pick it up hopefully next week.

Time to get a move on!  Have a wonderful day!

Easter weekend memories..Ping Pong..going to be a gorgeous Saturday!

Good Saturday morning from Yerington, Nevada!  It's 32 degrees heading for a wonderful 72 this afternoon! Perfect as we plan on spending the afternoon outside!
Loved seeing this yesterday on our drive to Gardnerville! Sure took us back to our
Easters spent at either Sand Mountain or Winnemucca Dunes with our kids and their
friends! Sure do miss those days!

There were several groups of people all over Wilson Canyon

People gathering at the little rest area...made me
so jealous!!

Too much fun!!

I'd love to have a side by side..but probably
not..haven't even used our kayaks yet!

Late Thursday afternoon Karen, Lynzee, Danielle, Niko and Noah came over to play some ping pong and Ken got a fire going outside.  Everyone had fun playing ping pong and with some new people to play against it was fun!

We also enjoyed the fire outside, until it started RAINING!  We had to call it a night.  What a shame with such a great fire. Oh well, fun while it lasted!

Because it's Easter weekend and we will be celebrating with Karen and family on Saturday we needed to do some grocery shopping.  Ken and I got out of here early on Friday morning and made the drive to Gardnerville to spend some $$ at Walmart.  A quick run to Raleys too and we were home just after the boys got out of bed!

Breakfast was made and enjoyed by them.  They love the waffles and bacon so that's what they got.  Aaron had 2 waffles and they're pretty big. I never buy juice (except Ken's V8) but there's been a lot of orange and apple juice drank this week. 💜

Once that was done and groceries put away it was nearing 1300. Time for mine and Ken's lunch haha.

The boys decided to head out for a quad ride about 1330.  Beautiful afternoon so they enjoyed.  I took this time to change the sheets in Mason's too.  I didn't realize he was sleeping on a pink sheet (and it's one I hate anyway) he appreciated the change LOL.  Straightened Aaron's bedding out too.  Boys don't seem to care where they sleep, but making the bed is the 1st thing I do in the am.

Once they got back, Mason and I headed next door to check out what Ken was doing. Karen wants a garden this year, so Ken was putting up a chicken wire fence around the area.  Looks good and will hopefully keep rabbit s out as the garden grows.

The girls and the younger ones were at the outside table coloring Easter eggs. Mason sat down with them for awhile. There will be an egg hunt Saturday afternoon.

Miss Amelia.. :)

Easter egg coloring

Headed back home for a bit and then spent happy hour over there.  Aaron wasn't much for socializing but that's ok.  He was fine at home.

We enjoyed our visit and then headed back home. Lynzee wanted to take a quick drive to the BLM so Mason got on the quad and followed them, they were back in 15 minutes or so.
Ice cream for my boys

Again, not real pretty but oh so tasty! The boys
want me to make more of these "Cheater fried ice cream"
No frying needed! Made with crushed vanilla wafers..YUM!
I'm thinking I just felt a small earthquake a few minutes ago..I'm sitting on the bed filling easter eggs with candy and the bed started shaking back and forth a
bit.  We shall see...

Have a  great day everyone! Time to make some breakfast for Ken and me. Looking forward to a gorgeous day! 💜😎

The week flies by...

Good morning from Yerington, NV.   It's Thursday already, where does the time go?!! Looks foggy out there, Ken opened the door and it's raining a bit..

Pretty much it's been the same all week, with nowhere to go but the grocery
store, we've been home.

The boys like to stay up until all hours and so most mornings we don't see them until 1100 or so :) Then it's time for a late breakfast, I give them the choice of breakfast or lunch, they always pick breakfast.  Bacon, (lots of bacon) LOL.  Then it's either french toast or waffles or both. When they're here, I cook them whatever they want as we don't get to see them that often.

Later in the afternoon they go for a quad ride out to the BLM.  Phones are with them in case there's a problem but they are safe and cautious drivers now that they're older.

These don't look like the picture I made them from LOL..but they are
chocolate covered strawberries deep fried in waffle dough..Mason had
one, Aaron ate the rest..hahah.  Guess they don't have to look good
to taste good! Today we're trying deep fried ice cream..

The weather hasn't been great with lots of wind and chilly.  Hoping for a warming day so we can go to BLM and do some shooting or the range.
Aaron getting ready to go..Ken's putting gas in Mason's

Time to head out!

Because of the wind, Ken has a moveable bar b q.. LOL

Eric and family gave this cast iron cooker to Ken a few years ago..
Makes ONE HUGE burger!! Thanks guys!

We had a night of ping pong championships which will need to continue. There's been movie watching in the evening.  Aaron picked Joker yesterday at Red Box and another.  After an hour or so, I went to bed.  Ken stayed up and watched with them. :)

Anyway, that's about it.  Taking it easy, some baking, and of course Ken finds himself plenty to do!

Have a great day!

Easter Sunday in Florida..probably 1962 or so..

Easter Sunday..Carmichael, CA.  I was in the 6th grade..

Loved our tent dresses! I remember we got these out at Denio's Auction
or as daddy called it  "Okie Farms"...most Saturdays we'd head out there
just to see what they had!

Out front of our house..modeling our dresses! haha.
