Lucy seems to be settling in well over at the Bryan Kay residence in Georgetown. Usually Cheryl is home most days or just gone for a few hours...but unexpectedly the family has been gone from home for more than hours this week. Lucy seemed to do fine, but she really likes her attention, especially from Cheryl.
Ken and I were at Sand Mountain, just enjoying a few days of quad riding and just having nothing to do when I got a text from Cheryl, that she was headed to Kaiser as she thought her dad had a stroke. She kept us updated as yes, he had a severe stroke, and anyurism. They took him into surgery to remove the blood clot.
Wednesday morning about 0530 he left this earth. We planned to head over to Cheryl's but wanted to give them some time. Wednesday night after talking with Bryan and Cheryl we decided to leave and spend a few days with them. We headed to Lincoln where her dad, Keith and his wife Renette lived. Spent several hours there with Renette and Cheryl's sister Kim was there too. We went back to Bryan's, had a late night and then Friday we all headed back out to Renette's. Family is taking turns to stay with Renette, Kim stayed that night and cousins of Cheryl's came in from Washington on Thursday night for a couple of days.
We came home yesterday (Saturday)..Cheryl and Bryan were going to go to Renette's for the night, but Bryan went by himself, to give Cheryl a little time at home. Kim stayed out there too.
Unfortunately, Renette is going to have the sell the place (house on 10 acres)..so we will go back when needed to help her get it ready to sell, or whatever is needed.
Keith was one of the nicest men we'd ever met! He and Ken got along so well, we really thought the world of him. Bryan loved him so much, of course it goes without saying how much Cheryl loved him. He is so missed already....He was a great man...
