A great weekend in Silver Springs! Finding our costumes, We're going on our Anniversary vacation! :)

Love this picture of Aaron. back at his first football game
due to a hamstring injury!

We had a wonderful weekend in Silver Springs! We saw old friends and met some new ones! A great ride for all of us on Saturday.  πŸ˜Š Every time we get the chance to ride, I'm so glad we bought the Can Am.

Part of the gang at Keith's place..

Getting ready to head out!

Beer break LOL.

Pretty dusty out there!

An old corral

Our destination "The Caves" about 30 miles out from camp

We took the trail there up to the caves.  John said to walk on the outside near the
cave as a rattlesnake just crawled under a rock. Well, guess who turned around and
almost ran down the hill.  I was kind of nervous about going in the first place, and
that did it!

Cave pictures courtesy of Ken, who did go in!

Beer break!

Another camp on the way back..

Some of the other campers at Keith's place.

Here we are

They call this mini van flats..LOL. Used to look more like a mini van, but been
shot to hell.

Tiffany and grandma..πŸ’—

Pumpkin..wish I would have got a picture of him in the side by side. He
looked like he was really enjoying himself.

There's Captain Morgan on Randi's lap..

The cutest couple ever! Grandma and Papa Keith, Keith's parents

Randi and Captain Morgan, he enjoyed the ride too πŸ’™

Happy Birthday Keith! πŸŽ‚

Time to enjoy the fire and the company!

Keith and family supplied an amazing taco dinner for everyone.

We headed for home about noon on Sunday. We did enjoy our Champagne Sunday for a bit after getting home. Then we did a little work in cleaning Nellie and emptying the fridge.

Keith's place. He's got a flush toilet and sink in the little house. His container
has a bedroom area and plenty of room to store anything.

Later in the afternoon Karen invited us over for Happy Hour. We decided to barbecue some hot dogs and hot links, so we came home and got the stuff while Karen started the barbecue. Simple, with potato salad that I had made, but we didn't eat over the weekend.

Monday we spent at home finishing the cleaning of Nellie and other things. Later, we had a nice fire outside.

Yesterday we decided to head for Dayton to visit a few thrift stores to see if we could find the rest of our costumes for the Halloween party.  We want  to be Bonnie and Clyde.  πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒ We were able to find what we needed, quicker than we thought we would.

Walmart, Lowe's and then Betsy's for linner. Headed home and that was that for the rest of the day.

We don't have to help John move this weekend so we've decided to take our Anniversary vacation instead.  πŸ˜ŠπŸ’– Where are we going? Not sure yet haha. We know we're leaving tomorrow and have until the 25th or 26th to be home. Keep ya posted! We're not happy about the gas prices, but again one day we won't be able to do this.

Happy Hour! Let's figure out where we're going! πŸ·πŸΊπŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Adam visits, Heading for Silver Springs and Best in the Desert Race this week

A quick blog post as we're leaving this morning! Yay! It's that time of year again for Best in the Desert, Vegas to Reno.

Adam called on Sunday wanting to know what we were doing on Monday. I told him we wouldn't be home as we were going to Reno.  He decided to come anyway and spend the night.  πŸ˜πŸ’™

We got home from next door just as he was getting out of his truck. Monday morning we all left about the same time. He headed for Bridgeport and possibly camping and we headed for Reno and Total Wine.  Then Walmart in Carson City for some grocery shopping. It was about 1400 when we walked into Betsy's Big Kitchen.

I sent Adam off on his drive with a sandwich and chips...

We pulled into the driveway and Adam's truck was there.  He got home about an hour before us. Because of the smoke in Bridgeport he didn't feel like hiking or camping so he came back.  πŸ˜ƒ

We visited awhile and Ken cooked some chicken for him.  Went next door and visited with the doggies there for a bit.  Some tv at home then bedtime.

Lila loved Adam...

So did Mugsy!

Tuesday morning after breakfast Adam headed home to CA.  I followed Ken to Silver Springs to drop the 73 Dodge off at Johnny's property.  Johnny, Kelly, Joel and Randi had just arrived when we pulled in.

Someone had a very bad day at Washoe Lake State Park!

Nothing left, even started a small fire in the trees surrounding
the area...

We had a nice short visit while they were getting set up and then we headed home.

I spent he afternoon making 7 layer dip and some deviled eggs to take to the gathering in Silver Springs.

7 Layer Dip...

Ken brought the Mansion to the driveway so it'll be easy to load up.  We're leaving this morning.  It's only about 1/2 hour away which really makes it nice.  The only drawback to this trip is the heat!  They're expecting triple digits all week!! Hopefully there will be a breeze, but we'll see.

Not much cell or wifi service in Silver Springs.

Thursday we will meet the group in Gabbs, NV for lunch about 105 miles away from the camp.  They'll take their side by sides on a backroad ride. We'll take the truck and whoever else wants to ride in a/c...LOL.

The race is on Friday and we'll be home on Saturday.  Should be some fun filled days!

Time to get a move on!
