A quick catch up!

National Public Lands Day..That's our grandson Adam, left front with the big
smile! They had 30 volunteers come out to help with reforestation project. Looks
like Adam loves his job, doesn't it! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’™

Mason and his sweetie, Chloe. Hoping to get to know her
at the end of the month πŸ˜€

Allissa went to Hawaii earlier this month with her dad and family. Looks
like she's really enjoying that pool! πŸ’–

I love this picture of our sweet Allissa! Jacob will
be stateside soon and they'll be together in Florida for a few months,
before he comes to San Diego! πŸ’—

I got sent this picture of Russell and his friend Jenn! πŸ’™

Last Saturday we left here about 0600 and got to Lincoln at 1030. Ken, Renette and I worked on filling the car hauler with as much of Bryan and Cheryl's stuff that we could. Somewhere around 1300 we left and headed over to Highway towards home.  We stopped in Gardnerville and had an early dinner. Too late  to call it linner..LOL.

We got home around 1800 and then headed to join John and Karen for Happy Hour.

Sunday morning of course was Champagne Sunday, which we enjoyed along with a nice fire in the wood stove on a cool, cloudy day! :)

The glass says it all! πŸ’—

Always loved smoke out a chimney! It needs a cap though

Ken worked on the cargo trailer this week and I've been getting places ready for company at the end of the month 😊

We have a patriotic potty in our cargo trailer, to go with
our curtains LOL.

Tomorrow we'll head for Reno so we can get the cargo trailer registered. We tried on Monday but turns out the company filled out the DMV form wrong so we had to go back to them and they fixed it. Wasn't a total waste as we did a stop at Total Wine. It's in the same parking lot as AAA so we had too! LOL. Actually, I'm taking some wine back to Arkansas for Cheryl as it's so much cheaper here than there. Ken's got to get some blood tests done too.

Saturday we're heading over the hill to get a gun safe that Shawn wanted Bryan to have. Then a quick trip to Lincoln to pick up a freezer and a few items that wouldn't fit in the car hauler. Champagne Sunday will be cut short as we'll be loading the cargo trailer. Darn. hahah.

We're hoping to leave next Wednesday for Arkansas to take some more stuff there. So this trip will be another mission! We need to be back on the 24th. If all goes as planned the trip for Thanksgiving will be a leisurely one. Of course, when am I supposed to do Christmas shopping?!

Today was spent messing with this computer! So frustrating. No time to take it anywhere (and I'm not going to Best Buy)! So hopefully it'll do what I need it to do for a few weeks.

Time to sign off and get ready to spend some time with the furry kids next door. Karen is working long hours to get the store ready to open on the 27th. The furry ones need some play time and we're happy to do it!

Have a great one!

Sidetracked..51st Anniversary, Champagne Sunday, Cargo Trailer, Allissa's camping, Adam's here! Good news from Mason :)

I started this blog Sunday afternoon...and then got sidetracked Sunday and Monday :)

It's Champagne Sunday and yes we did indulge 😁. Since our anniversary was yesterday we still had baloney left over so Ken wanted a fried baloney sandwich for our brunch today. Who am I to argue?!

Got my new Fall glass πŸ’› Other side says Grateful..

Good bye for another year! But so yummy!

Friday we went to Carson City and picked up the new cargo trailer. Ken loves it. I was hoping the v nose was bigger but it isn't. It's growing on me now I have to say. The first thing we'll have in it is Bryan and Cheryl's stuff from Lincoln, CA. Then we'll take it to Arkansas in October sometime. Ken's been working on tie downs today, well after brunch anyway. πŸ˜€

We've got two windows and a 36" door with a screen door

This is what $100.00 will buy you in lumber at Lowe's..

For our 51st anniversary we headed to Fernley we headed to Fernley and Lowe's so Ken could get the material for the tie downs and I could get a couple of curtain rods to make curtains for the trailer. Thank you, Kim and Lance for the Lowe's gift card last year for our 50th anniversary as it bought the lumber!

After we got home we had our traditional lunch of baloney sandwiches and barbecue potato chips as that was our dinner 51 years ago. πŸ’™ Reminds us of where we were and takes us back πŸ’– Gotta say I can only think of two things that taste the same as way back when, baloney and pop tarts, unfrosted of course. LOL.

YUM!

Later in the day we went to John and Karen's as they had gotten home in the afternoon. Sure the doggies were happy to see them.

Sunday we had our coffees and got ready then headed out to the outdoor kitchen. I cooked some bacon for later in the week and then the baloney and some fries. Yep, not good for us, but there's tomorrow.

When we went to Carson the other day I was looking for a smaller table to have in the outdoor kitchen. When we have company the large table is nice, but when it's just Ken and me a smaller one would be nice, especially when it's fire time. Karen said she probably had the perfect one for us and yes she did. They dropped it off this afternoon. It actually folds down to about 8 inches wide when not in use!

This week was all about potties! Ken replaced the one in the
Mansion and we bought this one for the cargo trailer LOL.

Cute wreath from the Midtown Marketplace in Carson..

Got a call this am from Grandson Mason who said they'd probably be out at the end of October. Perfect! That's John and Karen's Halloween party so a great weekend to visit! I told him he made my day! πŸ’—

Monday,  other than a quick trip to Raley's it was a day at home. Adam came to visit to start his weekend off.  That's why the trip to town. Ken's going to be barbecued some chicken breast and pork chops. I made veggies and rice pilaf. It was all delicious.

Got these pictures the other day from Allissa (Jacob's sweetie). She and some girlfriends were camping at Prosser Lake off Highway 80. Looks like a beautiful site and lake! πŸ’—

Beautiful site, makes me want to go camping. Her dad actually
pulled the trailer up for the girls. Sweet dad πŸ’™

Our sweet Allissa πŸ’– Another young lady we are blessed to
have in this family! She said she went by Russell's house before
leaving and he taught her how to tie on her hooks and everything else
she needed to know. He did good!

Grand nephew Phoenix turned 7 months already, earlier this month. Here's a smile for your viewing pleasure πŸ˜€πŸ’™

He's enjoying eating some solid food finally!

Not so much on this one 😊

After breakfast this am Adam took off for Bridgeport. It's only about an hour and a half from here and he's looking for a hike. Ken's using the Pit Boss and cooking a pork roast and a beef roast. I made Pioneer Woman Restaurant potatoes and we'll have some veggies πŸ˜‹ Should be a good evening!

Going to get this posted before some bad influence distracts me again! 🍺🍷

Helping Karen move from store to store, Babysitting the furry kids next door, Cargo Trailer is on the lot!

Time is sure flying by here in Nevada! We've been home mostly. Last week I spent 3 days helping Karen to close up her shop and get things over to the new shop down the street. Ken actually spent 4 days. You don't realize how much stuff you have until you're moving. We made several trips filling our car hauler with inventory. The new shop is larger and right on Main Street, so definitely will be a good move for her.

Loved this picture with the dark clouds in the background
Not today though

One of many loads

We wanted to get her done by Saturday so she could head over to California with John for the week. She'll have the week to relax with him until the real work begins this Monday.

We are baby sitting the hairy kids for the week. 😊

Yesterday we went to Reno (Total Wine Run) and Carson City. We stopped by the trailer place to get a better idea of when our cargo trailer would be in. They said it's on a trailer in Utah waiting for a truck. We're thinking another week or two. Got a nice surprise this afternoon, they called and said it's on the lot!! Going tomorrow to pick it up!

Went by our favorite little vintage and collectible store and picked up a few things, even one little Christmas gift. Dollar Tree because I wanted a few things to put in the outdoor kitchen, Fall related.

Ordered this material to make curtains for the outdoor
kitchen, turned out cute :)

Guess I'm ready for Fall even though the temps aren't
quite there yet!

Linner and then home to spend some time with Mugsy and Lila. We were planning on staying ever other night, but they're so sad when we leave and so excited when we come over that we're staying every night and then going home in the am. Definitely not a hardship LOL.

Ken's mom has been ill for the last several days and went to dr. Looks like she has pneumonia. Ken talked to her today and she sounded better, so thinking the meds are working. Love you Grandma and you're in our prayers. πŸ™ πŸ’–

Adam and Erin went to Oregon this last weekend for a concert and he sent me these pictures from there.

Adam and Erin πŸ’™

Beautiful river near Bend, Oregon

Love this pic of Erin, not only is she naturally pretty
She's just as sweet πŸ’— and she Loves my grandsonπŸ’™

We're next door and I've got an anxious puppy that wants in my lap, so I'll sign off for now! Have a wonderful evening, I know we will. πŸΈπŸΊπŸ•πŸΆ

Father's day at Sand Mountain, Family visits! A surprise purchase. :) A great week!

We had a great Father's Day weekend at Sand Mountain. Took the Can AM out for a bit, watched the crowd go up and down the mountain, just what we wanted. All the boys called Ken on Sunday. Got messages from some of the girls in our lives too! πŸ’—

Four special guys in my life...Ken, Eric, Mason and Koa πŸ’™

Monday, after getting ready we headed home. Nice that it's only about an hour and half from us. While we were driving Ken looked out the side view mirror and noticed that something was flapping in the wind. Oh oh. Once we got to Yerington he pulled over and found some of the siding on Nellie had tore off, not good! She is a 1989, runs like a top but this could be expensive if it's even fixable. So she may be parked as a guest room now. We only paid $1500.00 for her, so can't justify a lot of expense. We shall see.

Champagne Sunday at Sand Mountain..my glass says it all!

Tuesday I told Ken we needed to go grocery shopping as Mason and his friend Koa were coming on Wednesday for a few days.  Eric was off too, so he was coming on Thursday bringing his Can Am.

We left a sizable donation at Walmart and while driving home we stopped at Carson Trailers. Looked at a 16x7 cargo trailer and decided to buy it. It'll be white with two windows and a screen door. Made by Wells Cargo and very nicely done! We went with the 16x6 1/2 foot height. Hoping for it to be built in about 6 weeks! This definitely will help with the move we hope to be doing soon for one of our sons and then in a few years another! 😁 In between we hope to do a little work to it and be able to use it for the Can Am fun πŸ˜€

An example of ours, only white

Around 1400 on Wednesday Mason and Koa arrived and then they went out on the Can Am and later on the atvs. Dinner was hot links, potato salad and macaroni salad. Delicious and easy. LOL.

Eric brought Ken his Father Day gifts..just perfect! Thank
you Eric and Christina!

Eric got here Thursday afternoon and we enjoyed visiting. The boys took that side by side out for awhile. Enchiladas and cole slaw for dinner. We visited with John and Karen at their house later.

Friday we all went out for a ride to some of the back country. We actually found a concrete building we've never seen before so that was great. It's so beautiful back there and so many roads to be taken.  Cheese burgers and tater tots for dinner. A nice fire and conversation on the back patio.

Mason, Koa and Ken..you can't tell but of course they're
standing near an edge!

Would love to know the story of this concrete building in the
middle of nowhere, NV!

My sandwich board out at Sand Mountain

Saturday Ken and Eric went out in his side x side for a ride before Eric had to head home. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast along with eggs. 😊 I mentioned it to Eric the night before and the boys said that's what they were going to ask me to make, so worked out well.  Eric left nearing noon.

Eric  let Ken drive his hot rod Can AM!

Ken and I went for a ride with the boys to "observation point". Not my favorite ride, don't like edges LOL.

Got a nice surprise when Adam said he was coming on his way home from the Grand Tetons. Really special having all these boys together. 😍

Saturday night Karen barbecued ribs for all of us. Macaroni and cheese and I brought a caesar salad. All tasted yummy!

Sunday morning was chocolate chip pancakes done on the outside griddle, with bacon. The boys rode off and on through out the day. Makes it nice having BLM at the end of our road.

3 of my guys..Adam, Mason and Ken πŸ’™

Mason and Koa getting ready to go for the last ride, before
Eric had to load her up!

Ken barbecued pork chops and I made veggies on the griddle along with mashed potatoes. :)

Monday morning was sausage and egg mc muffins on the outside griddle (HOW I LOVE THAT THING).  The boys came out with me and it was just a nice morning before everyone left for home.

Once they left Ken and I headed for Carson City to drop off the deposit for the new trailer.  Then on to Total Wine and Linner. A good day.

Breakfast started on the outdoor griddle..so much better
than cooking this and more inside!

Love that we had 5 days with Mason and Koa. A great few days with Eric and Adam. We really enjoy  having family visit when they can! Ken's sister Diane and our nephew Jesse will be here Sunday evening and then later in the month Lori, Russell and friends will be visiting for Russell's 45th birthday!πŸ’™

Sure hope these darn mosquitos are gone by them. They are making our lives miserable! We've never had such a problem in the ten + years we've lived here!

Just a couple of pictures from Adam's trip to Grand Tetons.

Adam on the right working the El Dorado County Fair πŸ’–

Here are the boys getting ready to say Good Bye

Ken just got home from helping John with something, so it's time for Happy Hour! Have a great evening! 🍷🍺
