A week catch up...Spending time with Aaron and seeing friends! Home again! Russell and Lori in Florida

Me and three of my favorite boys! Aaron, Seth and Mason! Only thing that would have
made it better? If Adam and Jacob could have been there! πŸ’™

Last Sunday we decided to try out our new pizza oven that Russell and Lori gave us for Mother's/Father's day. Never in our dreams did we think that's what they had got us. Russell has one and he loves it!

It was amazing. Somehow the taste is totally different than what you get out of the regular oven! Thanks you two, this will be our new go to on Sundays for sure!

Monday we went to Cal Ranch in Carson City to pick up Ken's new toy. A 37 ton Black Diamond log splitter. We've had a 25 ton for years, but with the new wood he just got he needed something better! This certainly fills the bill and he's thrilled with it.

Tuesday morning we took two cars as Ken had a cardio appointment in Carson and I was heading over the hill for a few days to spend some time with Aaron. His parents are in Florida for the week, she's working, he's playing!

The cardio appointment went just fine. Everything looks good and he'll be seen again in 6months. What a difference from last year at this time. The ablation seems to have done its job!

I stopped at Winco in Roseville and did some grocery shopping before heading for Aaron's house. My car registered 115 for a bit and pulling into the driveway it had been at 113 for quite awhile. Needless to say I was not a pretty picture by the time I got done unloading! Aaron was working otherwise I would have had help.

Ken's sister Diane came over and visited for a bit which was nice.

Eventually Aaron and Kenna made their appearances and enjoyed the evening.

Wednesday morning I was awake about 0500. Laid there awhile and then decided to head to North Highlands and Marie's Donut shop. Picked up some of the best donuts anywhere for Aaron and Kenna. A quick run by Safeway for a few things that i didn't get yesterday.

Marie's Donuts North Highlands, CA!

Wednesday evening we had company for dinner. John and Andrea, Mike and Mel, Allissa along with Aaron and Kenna. A good time was had by all.

Haven't made "real" lasagna in years but it turned out great. Lasagna,
Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Caesar Salad, French bread, Winco chicken
and potato salad. Allissa made a batch of her amazing cookies
for dessert! YUM. πŸ˜€

Thursday I did some running around and picked up some more caesar salad for dinner. We were having more company. Seth, Mason and Diane came for dinner along with Allissa. Aaron was working but got home in time to see everyone.

Friday I was able to meet with friends, Jerry and Elva at Brookfields. It was really nice that they came out from West Sacramento to see me. On top of that they bought me lunch too. :)

Once I left there I headed over to my friend Joanie's place in North Highlands. Joanie and I have known each other since November 1993 when the Service Center opened and she was one of our first volunteers.

We shared a bottle of wine and before you know it time for me to head back to Aaron's place. Aaron and Kenna had taken a day trip to Lake Tahoe. Once he got back we ordered Mexican food from Jalisco's and it was yummy! While I was waiting for Aaron to get home, Gabi, a neighbor popped in for a short visit! She and I had been waving at each other all week so it was nice for a catch up!

They had a great time paddle boarding Lake TahoeπŸ’•

Joanie, she'll be 101 on August 12th. Still lives alone and
takes care of everything πŸ’•

Saturday morning I loaded the car and waited for the kids to wake up. Finally at 1000 or so I woke them up. Waffles with strawberries and bananas were the breakfast of the day. After cleaning up I told them goodbye. Bittersweet as I won't see Kenna again until Thanksgiving. She leaves next week for college at Alabama State.

Had a nice uneventful drive home up Highway 50. So done with I 80 and all their construction and big rigs!

Ken and I had Happy Hour outside by the outdoor kitchen. Later in the evening we had a fire! Yep, hard to believe with the temps, but it really cooled down.

Took a Can Am ride after I got home to check out "Night in
the Country" Looks different than a few weeks ago. LOL.

Hundreds and more of RVs. Pictures don't do it justice.
Thousands of people come out to be cowboys and cowgirls
for the weekend and listen to "country" music. The only
country stars I knew of were Ned LeDeux and Randy Houser.

Yesterday of course was Champagne Sunday. Ken cooked a low carb cauliflower pizza in the pizza oven and it was oh so yummy! I actually took a nap in the afternoon for a bit. Then later we headed to Karen's to get caught up on everything.

Russell and Lori enjoying their last day in Miami, Florida

So what do you do in Miami when the work is finished?

You rent a Corvette for 12 hours and enjoy!!

Way to have fun kids!! πŸ’™

This morning I made easy breakfast burritos and we headed out. Ken had dropped off his car hauler trailer on Friday in Gardnerville for some brake line work. I went to Walmart while he picked it up. We got home around noon.

Nothing too exciting this afternoon but now it's time to get this published and enjoy a warm (hot) Happy Hour! Enjoy your evening! 🍺🍸

Happy Birthday Russell! Spending time with Aaron. Happy 6th Cassidy. Family time :)

Last Friday morning I left home to meet up with Russell and Lori for a late breakfast/brunch at the Donner Lake Kitchen. The plan was for 1100. Russell and Lori got there early and I was on a good schedule to get there early until road construction on I 80 right before the turnoff. I still made it pretty much on time. We enjoyed a good breakfast and a good drink with it. Russell and Lori were on their way to North Shore Lake Tahoe to meet up with friends for the weekend and to celebrate his 46th birthday. 😱 How is my baby 46??!!!

Happy Birthday Russell! πŸ’—

An awesome screwdriver

I headed down the hill to stay at Russell and Lori's house for the weekend. Ken took his truck and trailer and headed for our friend KC's house to get a huge load of firewood for the winter.

I stopped at Walmart for a little shopping and ended up at Russell's nearing 1600. I made some enchiladas and coleslaw for dinner. Kenna got there later and enjoyed some too. Strawberries, whipped cream and pound cake for dessert.

Saturday morning after french toast, eggs and bacon for Aaron and Kenna, Ken left and I headed out. Had some shopping to do and then visited with my sister Linda and then to Grandma's. Before you know it the day was done!

I've had this picture for awhile. Our nieces visited Ken's mom
when they were up on vacation. Jennifer, Samantha, Grandma
and Zoey..πŸ’—

Jesse and Grandma

I tried to wait up for Aaron but by 2200 I was done. LOL.

Sunday morning I ran to Raley's before Aaron got up. Breakfast sandwiches were on the menu. Little Cassidy, our great niece was having her 6th birthday party so headed over there around 1100. A great afternoon was had by all.

Friends having fun!

Tasha and Phoenix

Miss Cassidy turns 6!

Owen and Jesse

Allissa came back to Russell's and we ordered door dash and mexican food. Aaron got home nearing 2200 and we were up until near 1230. Late night.

Monday morning we planned on pancakes, bacon and eggs for breakfast. Allissa was a little late  but that's just fine! I left for home about 1130. It seemed like an long ride home but that's the way it goes sometimes.

We've been home other than a trip to Raley's in town. Hot!

I marinated some chicken and veggies for dinner tonight so this morning we decided on Champagne Thursday (or as it's called Thirsty Thursday). Made some individual pizzas on low carb tortilla shells and then I cooked up a mess of dinner. It will be yummy I'm thinking.

Low carb pizza

Chicken thighs, breasts and veggies :)

Been looking online for a house in Arkansas for my sister Wendy when she retires next year. Bryan and Cheryl went and looked at one today, which just may be it. :) It's only about 5 miles from where they live which would be perfect! We shall see! :)

Our grandson Jacob's ship. Out in the thick of it all. Lots of prayers going up!

Heading upon 1700 which means Happy Hour! Have a good evening!

Camping next door, Mason and Chloe visit :) Eric and Christina visit too :) HOT!

Chloe and Mason getting ready to head home! πŸ’–

Chloe and I enjoyed a couple of Mimosas in the cool Mansion!

Last week we were going camping with John, Karen and family at Walker River State Recreation Area about 1/2 hour from here. We had reservations since March. Well, the heat wave hit so after a little deliberating decided to cancel and stay home but still camp. The campground is nice with water and electrical hookups, but the only swimming water is the river and it was flowing pretty fast. I wouldn't have gone in any way. LOL.

Wednesday we got the Mansion all packed up and headed next door to a nice water and electrical site that John and Karen have there. Actually, they have 4 spots ready for anytime people want to camp.

Grandson Mason and his sweetie, Chloe came Wednesday evening for 3 nights. They slept at our house because of air conditioning. Friends Dave and Kenna came too and had the bunkhouse (a/c there too).

Long story short we had a great time there. Too much partying but hey why not?! Chloe and Mason left about 0700 on Saturday as Mason had to work at 1200. We packed up the trailer and brought stuff home on Sunday, which was our plan at the campground.

Eric and Chris got us this rug a few years ago. Just too
pretty to stand on 😊

Izzie, Dave and Kenna.

Little Millie showing off her skills to Mason

Round 1 of Conder Ranch bacon, oh so good!

One night they did a LO BOIL, lots of crab and shrimp.
Not for me though. Ken loves it but he's allergic to shellfish

Chloe and Mason enjoyed it!

Chloe and her shadow, Millie

Papa and Mason

John, Sally and Karen

They have a nice 4 foot doughboy so we were able to stay cool by jumping in. Sometimes we came home and enjoyed the stock tank too.

Sunday Eric and Christina came to spend a few days with us which was nice! Partied here too LOL. Just a nice time with family.

Eric and Christina getting ready to head home to
100+ temps there too.

Today they're at the ocean at Bodega Bay 57degrees!

They left Tuesday morning to head back to Cool, CA where it's not cool! We've been in the 105-106 area for the last several days. UHHH.

Bryan and Cheryl decided their chickens needed a bigger coop than what they had. Turned this old shed on their property into a Taj Mahal in Arkansas.

A little cleaning, paint and fencing. Custom made gate too.
Happy Chickens!

Chloe sent some pictures from their ride to watch the fireworks in town from
the mountains. A few more but couldn't get them to download. :(
They went up into the mountains to watch the fireworks
in town.

πŸ’™

Wonder how fast Mason was going here? His curly hair is straight! LOL.

Grandson Adam called a bit ago and he's been assigned to the Shelly fire in Siskiyou
County for security.  He's happy about that $$$$. LOL.
Well, Siskiyou no more. He's headed for San Bernardino and the Vista Fire as
Public Information Officer. He could be gone as long as two weeks.

Well, it's time to head outside with the hubby. It's 104, so it's time for an Ice Cold
Corona Light. Have a great evening
