Happy 21st Birthday Mason!

Mason and his sweetheart, Chloe πŸ’–
Happy 21st Mason!

Friday morning we were at Ken's appointment at 0800. It went very quickly and we were out of there. We'd eaten hard boiled eggs and toast in our room so no reason not to get on the road to Sacramento.

We did hear the next day that his ejection rate has stayed steady for the last 6 months at 45 to 50 percent. Much better than a few years ago before the ablation! Thank God!

We had decided rather than spend Saturday night we'd just stay Friday night at Russell's and then after pizza on Saturday we'd head home.

When we got into town, we stopped by Russell's and dropped off our baggage. Russell and Lori were at work. We had left over Chinese from Thursday so made that our lunch. YUM.

We went over and spent a few hours with Ken's mom and Diane. It was a nice surprise for Grandma. A good visit for us. πŸ’–

Once we left Grandma's we headed to Rocklin and Russell and Lori's favorite place, The One Spot. We hadn't told them we were coming in on Friday and they had other plans so we didn't see them there. We still enjoyed ourselves though. We met the owner's father so we had a nice visit with him.

We left and were headed back to Russell's when we heard from them, but it was time to get going. We prefer not to drive in the dark if we don't have too.

We ordered pizza for dinner and they came home a little later. Had a great visit with them and Lori and I went to bed before Russell and Ken.

We left about 1030 on Saturday to head up to Auburn and be at Old Town Pizza at 1100. A very enjoyable visit with everyone and the birthday boy. Hard to believe our baby grandkids are 21! Aaron in March is the last one!

It was cute, when the server first asked what he wanted to drink, he said "water". Haha. Well. he didn't know what to order as the server was at the table pretty quickly.

Christina (his mom) asked the server, "Aren't you going to card him? He wasn't as he figured it was a 21st bday. He said, well I have to now! LOL.

There he is enjoying his first beer at a restaurant. πŸ’™
The day continued  and ended with Chloe throwing
a party for him at one of his friend's house.

It was a nice turnout of people for the beginning of Mason's
day!

Holly the cute blonde looks adorable pregnant. Our great
granddaughter is really growing. May 8th is the expected
date πŸ’•

John and Karen (end of table) came from Plymouth, where
John is working to surprise Mason. πŸ’™

WE finished near 1330 and after hugs all around we headed towards home. About 3 1/2 hours later we pulled into the driveway.

Of course, Sunday morning brought Champagne Sunday. I made a quick potato salad and we had some boneless pork ribs that we like for brunch. Turned out amazing!

We had one day last week with no wind (a bad four letter word
out here) so we enjoyed a nice outdoor fire instead of the
outdoor kitchen. Can't say the same for today.

Ken's been working on the Mansion last few days. Always something. Hoping to get it going so we can go somewhere soon.

Getting close to Happy Hour so I'll get this posted! Have a great evening!

Ken's skin cancer surgery, Adam visits for his long weekend, Surprise visit on Saturday! Stitches out!

Here it is another week has gone by! Last Wednesday we headed out about 0530 for Carson City. Ken had his (mohs) skin cancer surgery that morning. It went well and they got it all. Not pretty though. He's a good patient and does what they tell him to do.

Adam came over Wednesday evening after he got off work. He had a four day weekend and wanted to come spend it with us. πŸ’™ There's a gym in town, Anytime Fitness which he belongs to so he can go anywhere there is one. Luckily there's a small one here.

Mugsy and Lila love it when Adam
or any of the boys visit!

Nothing too exciting just some fires outside and we visited with John and Karen who surprised us by coming home for the weekend and a little more.

With all the storms across America companies are sending crews to help get the power back on. His company is doing that, which means he didn't have any crews for inspections. He and Karen left yesterday to head back to CA.

Saturday afternoon I was just finishing up making enchiladas for dinner. I turned around and screamed because I had Seth and Mason in my living room! They had been snowboarding and the snow wasn't any good and decided to come for the afternoon!! πŸ’™πŸ˜€ Luckily, when I make enchiladas I make a bunch! (The only picture I took didn't come out!)

We braved the cold and headed outside to the outdoor kitchen for the afternoon until dinner. They left around 1900 and got home safely. Nothing better than grandkids wanting to come visit! πŸ’™

Sunday morning Adam left to head home. He thought about staying until Monday morning but the roads are icy that time of day and so dark, he made the right decision!

Well, you know what that means. Champagne Sunday! We enjoyed being lazy and enjoying the day.

I grate alot cheese (enchiladas). Found this on Amazon,
my new favorite kitchen grater! In seconds you have lots
of grated cheese and different sizes too.

Mimosas of course!

Decided on burgers again this Sunday. Anaheim chilis instead
of jalapeno this time. Oh so  yummy!

Ken's plate :)

Monday and Tuesday we were home. Ken's spending a lot of time moving the wood he bought to where he wants it. It's alot of wood so it'll take awhile.

This morning Ken had an appointment at 1000 to get his 7 stitches out. It was a quick appointment but still not pretty! He goes back in May. Then a Total Wine and Walmart run.

He's got an EKG on Friday morning at 0800 so we're staying in Carson tomorrow night. Last week taught us that's the best thing to do especially in the winter for these early appointments.

Grandson Mason turns 21 on Saturday so we'll head over to Old Town Pizza in Auburn to help him start his celebration! πŸ»πŸΊπŸ·πŸΈπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Adam and his beautiful fiancee Erin, went out for
dinner and beers after he got home. This was in Murphy's CA.

Well, I see Ken's got a fire going outside so it's Happy Hour time! Have a great evening! πŸ’™

A catch up, finally!

Well, it's been awhile! The computer thing for pictures took awhile to resolve. Hopefully it's fixed. Not really very many pictures since Christmas. Honestly, we've been home most of the time.

Had 4 cords of lodge pine delivered this morning for our
outside fires and outdoor kitchen :)

Ken's has had a few doctor appointments this month. All are certainly much better than a few years ago. His glaucoma is acting up in his left eye, pressure at 28. He's got new eye drops to try and an appointment in a month.

He has a dermatology appointment tomorrow morning at 0815 to remove some skin cancer from his nose. An EKG at the end of the month to see where his heart function is at now. I'm sure dermatology will want a follow up probably in February.

We try to incorporate as much stuff as we can when we're in Carson City or Reno as one is 70 miles away and one is 90 miles. The joys of country living!

We did make it to Virginia City for pizza one day with Karen and her sister Heidi. Awesome pizza, but forgot to take a picture. LOL.

It's been cold, mornings in the teens and afternoons in the low 40's. We had a dusting of snow about 10 days ago. that's it, no moisture at all!

Had a nice but small New Year's next door.

Izzie (Karen's mom) Karen and her sister Heidi πŸ’–

That's about it. Can't believe it's the 20th of January already. Going way too fast!

We still have our "Champagne Sundays" and enjoy the outdoor kitchen with the fire going all day!

This was actually on the 11th, but was so good we did it
again this last Sunday! JalapeΓ±o burgers, cheese was added
after this. YUM!

Of course, Mimosas! YUM!

YUM! Ken's plate

Got this sweet picture on the 11th. Jacob and Allissa on their way to church πŸ’™
I love getting these surprise pictures! Makes this grandma's heart Happy! πŸ’–

Rosie's Mexican Restaurant in Smith Valley raised money to
have this 80 foot tall American flag installed along with the
smaller flags of the branches of the military and a Nevada
                  flag! Very impressive!
