That was a nice surprise! The heat is on!!

Tuesday morning Ken left for DMV at 0630 to be there at 0645. Lines are crazy right now, outside, social distancing..blah blah blah.  He waited in line on Monday for 2 1/2 hours in 97 degree heat only to be told at 1630 that computers were down. There were still 20 people behind him and he was 2nd from the door.
I had admired Allissa's purse a few months ago..She bought me one
just like hers..๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’– Too sweet!

He decided to get there early and wait for their opening time at 0800. He was #5 at 0645.  He finally got the truck registered that we bought in TN in March. People are coming from all over as the lines are too long in Reno and Carson City. Those are the only ones that takes appointments. Our little DMV does not and so this is the problem. He came pulling into the driveway at 1030.
Russell's favorite birthday present (mine too)! Allissa made him a reversible blanket
This side in support of Jacob.  She is a special young lady ๐Ÿ’œ

This side for Russell's service! Made me tear up to see the pictures..can only
imagine what it did to Russell ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’–

I was just hanging up from talking with Adam. He was headed for Bridgeport, CA camping for the night.  I had told him if we knew sooner we would have joined him.  He said he would have told us, but he just decided. He was bored. haha. I told Ken and he said "Let's go!" You don't have to tell me twice! It took us about 2 hours to load food, clothes, firewood and everything. Stopped in Yerington for a couple things and gas and off we went. It's just about 80 miles for us.

We got to the campground and Adam was just sitting up his tent. He had to take a double spot as that's all that was left!  No discounts on double sites, but $40.00 to spend the night with a grandson..priceless!!
Bridgeport Reservoir..looks nice for kayaking

I love this view!

He's all set up with his little car

Adam's got his National Parks book his sweetie Erin got him ๐Ÿ’™He's got a trip to Yellowstone
next month with her.  Cool little thing that heats up stuff quickly! Expensive to buy, and then cheap fuel..

We visited, I made him a sandwich and he took a little nap. Ken barbecued Papa Burgers for dinner along with french fries I made. Adam was happy, he said that's what he wanted.  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Later in the evening it actually cooled off enough that we could have a fire and enjoy the stars.  We all headed for bed about 2300.

Adam came inside the Mansion about 0645 Wednesday morning.  I was awake but just enjoying laying there.  Got the coffee started and later he wanted pancakes. No problem I brought some mix just in case. We had an enjoyable morning and then he took off, taking the long way home over Sonora Pass and then to Calaveras Big Trees. Our gypsy never takes the shortest route. He had to be at work today so only one night out. He'd been running around the day before visiting other places. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Adam getting ready for a new adventure!
Adam and Papa..
Once he left we made the decision to head to Lake Lahontan State Park.  We got there, found a spot and had a late lunch. It was so hot! 104 degrees.  Originally we thought we'd spend the night, Ken would run home in the am and grab the kayaks and we'd spend another night.  After lunch we sat watching people playing in the water and both of us had a little nap in our chair. Before we fell asleep Ken said he was feeling "woozy".  Just not quite himself. After waking he wasn't feeling good so we decided to come home.  After a/c he was feeling better. Just too darn hot and with no hookups we couldn't run the a/c in the Mansion.
One more beautiful view!

Families having fun in the heat! Wish we could have enjoyed
the water with our kayaks. But 104 was just too much!

Lot's of families camping! Nice to see the little ones

This group was having a blast!!

Once we got home we unloaded just what we needed for the evening and enjoyed the cool of the house. About 1900 it was cool enough to go outside for a bit. He barbecued some hot links so it was a simple dinner.

We both were really glad we came home.  Over night we slept with windows open and the fan going on high. We debated going into the guest room with a/c.  We would have been miserable at the campground as we couldn't even run the fan there!

I needed to get my hair cut but honestly had no desire to visit a salon. This morning Ken and I gave me a little cut I found on Pinterest..how to cut your own hair. Really turned out better than I would have thought.  Hopefully in a month or so i'll want to visit the salon in town. We will see...

Got the Mansion emptied and ready to head for Reno next week on Thursday for some warranty work. I did my thing and he did his ๐Ÿ˜Š  He was going to take the car hauler to get more rock, but found a flat tire. Upon changing tires he sees he needs a tire. That way he'll have 4 good ones on the ground. Tomorrow we head for Carson City to get that done along with a few other things.

We spent part of the afternoon getting some accounts set up online so we are able to pay extra on the Mansion and Can AM. Always nice to see where your money goes.
Pretty wicked looking skies!

Love this one!

Looks like a little later when it cools a bit we'll have Happy Hour with Karen and catch up on things. Have a great evening!
An unexpected dust storm came through!

John and Karen's flag flying high!!

For Ken it seems the heat gets to us easier then when we were younger.

  3. You guys are certainly fly by night people and I love that. We're much more set in our ways, not a good thing. I'm sure Adam was thrilled that he also had someone cooking for him! :) Burgers and pancakes sound good to me! :)
The heat is hard on us for suree but that water looks beautiful. I would have been in it floating on a noodle. Haha

    1. Adam is funny. I asked him what he had for food. Almonds, beef jerky and cream cheese buns for breakfast. Which he ate all of that before he got to the campground since he knew there would be food! haha. Hoping to get out to the lake once the temps are closer to 90..
