Just getting a few things done at home....Boomtown tomorrow!

Stayed home Tuesday and just worked around the house...I cleaned the cabover so it's ready to go again and Ken made a spot for the Jayco in a different area of the property.  We want to buy (or make) a cover for the trailer and the cabover, but pricing on internet they are expensive so he may be building  it himself.

Today Ken went to the dump with garbage cans and I painted the threshold of the back door.  One of those things that got missed when we painted the house and today was the day to take care of that..looks much better!

Because our medical expenses are the one thing we can deduct (except for the 1st 10% of your income....Thanks Obama)...I made a folder for receipts and monthly expenses..something I've wanted to do for awhile, so that when I'm getting taxes ready I don't have to take days to figure it out.  So I'm happy with my folder..

Monthly we get flyers from Boomtown with really cheap room and food rates... they always put us in the North Tower which has awesome rooms.  So we are taking tomorrow and spending the night at Boomtown..they have the buffet for $3.99 a person..can't beat that.  Friday we'll stop at Winco in Reno on the way home and do some grocery shopping.

May is going to be a busy month, Adam's birthday party on the 9th..Mothers Day the 10th and then I'm gone with Grandma to Chelsea's graduation from the 18th till the 24th..that month will be done before you know it!

For those of you who believe...or don't...(We do)...

I took this pic of Adam just a few seconds b4 the pic below
with his dad...same camera same everything..honestly I thought the
pic was just blurry and I was disappointed...but...after the pic below
I think this was the energy (ma and popo)..coming into the pic...I know
some of u will think it's the flash or whatever..but it's only seconds away
from the pic below....and it's a point and shoot camera..hmmmm

If u blow this up (click on pic) u can see orbs on Adam and on the wall..
in the hutch behind them...

Cheryl's pic of Adam and Bryan...look on Adam's right leg next
to his hand..u can see a green hand next to his..holding his
hand as he begins a new chapter in life..driving and the
conference in DC...
For several years we went to Mule Days in Bishop, CA. Adam was about 2 when we went the first time.  At 3 we bought him his first chaps and hat...so obviously he was so adorable people noticed him. One was Jerry Tindell who taught the horse management classes.  We were in the barn and took several pics with Adam and Jerry...later on we processed the pics and Cheryl noticed the orbs...everywhere in the pics!  So yes , we believe!  I posted the above pics here and on Facebook...Cheryl noticed orbs right away, I am so glad she is "gifted" to notice these things....Love u Mom and Daddy!! I so believe you are here watching all of us!!

A visit with Eric, a trip to Folsom with Adam driving and Bryan's 42nd Birthday!

We left home on Saturday about 1000 waiting for the chain controls to be lifted over I80...made it no problem, stopped at Yuba Gap and ate lunch at the scenic view..

The view from the camper for lunch

and our set up for the weekend

Then we headed to Eric's house for a visit, as we had his birthday present from a week ago..caught him putting up new blinds they had ordered in their kitchen and then along the front of the house.  They look really nice...faux wood color...hopefully easy to keep clean.

Eric's home brew....Sierra Madre Pale Ale..

His kegerator

This was a stout...no thank u ...but Ken liked it

Their new blinds...nice!

After a couple of hours visiting, we headed up to Bryan's house with the cabover on the trailer and were going to spend Saturday and Sunday nights there.  Had a nice evening visiting with them!  Sunday morning we got up, I made breakfast and eventually Adam and I left for the Outlets at Folsom. So into the truck we went with me in the passenger seat and him in the driver's!  He was a little tense at first (as was I) but he got the hang really quick...and all was good.  We got to Folsom, and I said "Well, I'll find u a parking lot and we'll pull over and I'll drive...."   Adam,   "Oh Grandma I got this...I'd really like to be able to say I drove to the Outlets." ....so he did...good job Adam!  He parks the truck better then Ken or me!  His first time!
Folsom Outlets....Adam's first parking job
After a few hours at the mall, we left and had a late lunch at Red Robin and then headed home, with him driving...all good..!  Had a nice night at Bryan's ...I made El Sombreros and Super Burritos..I picked up a cheesecake and we proceeded to enjoy the evening.

While we were shopping, Cheryl had to work, and Bryan and Ken put up a security door on the front of Bryan's house..Looks really good, just sorry I didn't take pics of it!

Adam and his Dad...found the suit at Von Huesen in the Outlets..

This morning, I let Adam drive to school...good job Adam!
Adam....getting ready to drive to school...

We headed home, got to Minden about 1300 and decided to stop and have lunch at the Carson Valley Inn...yummy!  So now we'll see what's up for the week ahead.
Carson Valley Inn...23 ounce Sam Adams ($3.50) and half a carafe
of chardonnay...($4.00)...

Cheryl called while we were at lunch.  El Dorado Savings (hers and Adam's bank) sent Adam a check for $100.00 towards his DC trip....awesome!  Grandma Gardetto donated $100.00...three members of the PTA board at Golden Sierra donated $25 a piece and a friend of Bryan's at work donated $100.00.  Really nice to see that people appreciate a young man doing well and realize what an accomplishment this is to be invited to this conference....Thank you all!  She has a few more letters out there, so maybe there will be a few donations in the future...last payment of $1220.00 is due May 15th...Can't believe how time is flying!

Our niece, Chelsea sent us a beautiful invitation to her graduation from West Point next month, which I am fortunate to be able to attend with Ken's mom.  So proud of her!!

Trip to Gardnerville and Minden...

Woke up this am and I headed to Gardnerville and Minden Nv...about 50 miles from our house.  First headed to Walmart in Gardnerville and did some grocery shopping for the weekend.  Sunday we're having El Sombreros at Bryan's for his birthday so I got the stuff for that.

The mountains were so pretty (wish I would have taken the camera)...it was snowing way up high and just a pretty sight!

I needed to go to Bank of America in Minden and talk to some people so that was done.  They sure seem alot nicer than the people in Carmichael..but of course to be fair it's been about 5 years since I've dealt with them..anyway, some paper work I've got to find and next week we'll go back.  Hmm..Tightwad Tuesday maybe....

Then I went back to Walmart and got my hair cut...driving me crazy so got out of there about 1430 and headed home...then time to cook some chicken and hamburger for Sunday so I don't have to do it then..

Tomorrow we'll head out and hope we can get over the summit...they're expecting snow..so we'll see...plan on taking Adam Sunday to the Outlets at Folsom..he needs a suit for the DC trip and there's supposed to be a store that sells them..and he has $$ from his birthday burning a hole...so Nike I'm sure and then who knows..if all goes well we hope to see Eric and family too...

We're home...now some pics I didn't get to post!

We got home yesterday about 1600 from Great Basin NP.  Nice ride, weather interesting and even more so after we got home.  Think we got more rain in a couple of hours here in Yerington than we got all season.  So it was an awesome homecoming.

Love to go but it is nice to have our little home to come back to even if it is only for a few days.  Saturday we'll head over the hill and spend Saturday and Sunday night at Bryan's house for his 42nd birthday.

Adam has his permit, his driving instructor can't get to him yet but is supposed to go by the high school tomorrow and sign something off so he can get started driving with all of us. He wants to go to Folsom Outlets on Sunday to spend his birthday money, so I'll go with him and let him practice driving the Tundra....brave aren't I ?!   No he won't be driving in major traffic to start just some of the back roads..
