Congratulations Aaron! We headed back to Georgetown on Wednesday...Camping today!

Congratulations Aaron!!
One more driver in the family!

Monday Adam and Erin left to take a drive to French Meadows.  I was at the house and just enjoyed the day.

Once Adam and Erin came home in the later afternoon we ordered pizzas from Terry's in town. We weren't sure when Bryan, Cheryl and Mia would be back from Idaho but we knew they'd be ready to eat.

It was around 2030 when Bryan pulled into the driveway.  We visited and enjoyed a Happy Hour together.  I didn't go to bed until 2345 with Bryan right behind me.  A great visit!

Cleaning up after the Tamarack Fire along HWY 395

Never have we seen so many Nevada Energy trucks working in one area!

Tuesday morning I was up and outside about 0600. A beautiful morning before the heat hit! Cheryl made a wonderful breakfast of bacon, eggs, english muffins and homemade blackberry jam! Yes, I did enjoy it!

Bryan took my car to the car wash and filled the tank.  Once he got back home he vacuumed the car to get out all the Lucy hair :) I left shortly after to head home.

Adam said to Erin, "Let's go to the beach" so they left before I did. Love their adventurous spirit!!

I visited BevMo in Auburn before heading out. Bryan gave us a gift certificate, which he shouldn't have done. I spent it and more, got a couple of bottles of wine I haven't tried before.

I pulled into the driveway just after 1500.

Ken said Karen had called and she couldn't go camping after all. She had forgotten her mom had a biopsy she needed to take her to.

I looked at my phone and had a text message from Cheryl.  Bryan was coming home in her car from getting chicken food and it overheated liquid spewing everywhere. Oh no, he was waiting for a tow truck for the 2nd time in less than a week! Our plans for camping changed too!

Wednesday morning we left here in two cars heading for Georgetown once again. We dropped off our orange Patriot for them to use for as long as they need it (hoping it doesn't fall apart) LOL.  The garage can't look at Cheryl's car until next Thursday.

We visited for a few minutes and then we headed home.  Once we got to Gardnerville we headed for Sharkey's, a casino with a great restaurant.  It was after 1600, so this was dinner.  YUM!

Hop Valley IPA for him, Chardonnay for me :)

Once we were home, we sat outside and enjoyed Happy Hour watching the sun go down.

Good night from Yerington, NV

We're heading to Walker River State Recreation Area this morning for an overnight camping trip. Karen won't be going, but we figure we were almost ready anyway. Maiden voyage with "Nellie" (the motorhome) and the CanAm. It'll be warm but they do have water and electrical hookups.  A little barbecuing for dinner.

Time to get a move on! Have a great day!

Night in the Country was a roaring success! A few days doggie and chicken watching. Visits from Eric, Ken and some grandkids :)

Got this off of FB this am..Saturday night's concert at Night in The Country in our little town!
AMAZING!  I don't know the artist (Chris Janson) but he sure got the sold out crowd moving!

I did get out of the house by about 1030 and headed to Georgetown, CA where our oldest son and his wife live.  I first headed to Antelope to drop off some beer we've been keeping for our youngest son, Russell from when we were camping. Wouldn't really matter if it was regular beer but this was some craft brews that we picked up specifically for him and Lori.

Night in the Country 2021! Amazing how many show up for this! Ken sent these..

Pools everywhere!

Just amazing! Lots of skin showing everywhere from pics I've seen on FB!
Looking for pics of our old neighbor Stacey, she's supposed to be here
from Alaska!

I was lucky enough to find Lori at home so we were able to chat for a little bit.

Headed to G town and got there around 1530.  Cheryl was just getting ready to text me that it was wine time!  We enjoyed getting caught up and they showed me my duties for the next few days.

They have a contest for best campsite..this one's pretty good!

Two pools and lots of people! Very clever!

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ƒ

Thinking there will be lots of hangovers this weekend...

I just love this! How you stay cool at Night in the Country!! hahah.

Volleyball in the mud! Looks like fun!

Cheryl made a nice salad (always tastes better when someone else makes it) and some zucchini crisps in the oven.  Around 1800 Adam showed up to spend the night. Always nice to see grandsons!

Grandson Adam..he should be on a wilderness hike with another ranger
until Sunday...wildfires would determine..He and Erin will be here
Sunday night!

More visiting and around 2140 we went to bed.

Alice and her baby..visitors to Bryan and Cheryl's..

Adam was leaving early so I set the alarm for 0500 so I could make him a breakfast sandwich for the road.  He left about 0540 as he had about an hours drive to his barracks at work.

Bryan and Cheryl got out of here around 0730 I think headed for Caldwell, Idaho.  The dogs and I had a nice leisurely day here at their home. I did some reading, computing etc.  Stuff I don't do at home during the day because there's always something to keep me busy 😊

After putting the chickens to bed I was going to have a glass of wine outside, nope too hot.  So the dogs and I enjoyed some time together in the house. They don't like being out in the heat either πŸ˜…

One of the reasons I am here...Daisy Duke πŸ’œ

Found out Raider doesn't like having his picture taken...even though he's a handsome devil!

Talked with Bryan for a bit.  They had a nice long drive but they made it! He sent me a couple of pictures with Cheryl reading to the little grandkids..thinking they're glad grandma came to visit / babysit.

Cheryl and the grandkids πŸ’™

We went to bed about 2130 or so.  Raider on the chair in the room I'm in and Daisy started off on the bed with me.  Sometime in the middle of the night she left. About 0430 I was awake and feel this big bump on the bed, tail wagging Raider jumped on the bed to finish his night πŸ˜„ I laid there awhile and at 0545 got up for coffee.

This morning's smoky sunrise at home...

Another slow, hot day.  Ken should be here in a bit.

We had a nice surprise, Adam came to spend the night again. I made some tacos and we all had an enjoyable evening.

Sunday morning Adam left to go to work for his "Friday".  Ken left in the morning after breakfast to visit with his mom in Carmichael for a bit before heading back home.

I had headed to Mar Val, the grocery store next to Bryan's property and got a call from middle son, Eric.  He was at Bryan's house so I quickly picked up a few things and hurried back.  A little later grandson Mason came to visit too! :) We had a nice visit for quite awhile.

Eric drove the 61 Chevy Impala...his project car.

Mason in his little red truck, with a great sound system...

Adam got back here around 1600 with Erin not too far behind. Visited awhile and then I ordered Chinese from the place in town. I cheated on Ken! We haven't had Chinese in over 18 months, I couldn't resist! Yum and way too much food.

Szechuan chicken...Ken will get some of this tomorrow!

Right before we left to pick it up, Mason called so I took his order and by the time we got back he had just pulled up. A really nice evening with the kids.

Blurry...but, Erin, Adam and MasonπŸ’™

Talked with Bryan and they'll be heading home Monday. Hopefully they're taking a different route home, just because they can!

This morning (Monday) I was up about 0530 waiting on coffee LOL.  It's warm and a bit overcast.  Did my chores getting the chickens fed and out of their coop, gathering eggs, watering the veggies and some plants and playing with the doggies.  By then Adam and Erin were up.

I made egg sandwiches for them as they discussed what to do with their day together. They've decided to head for French Meadows and some swimming. Those two love to go! Raider isn't happy, he misses his "boy" when he's gone.

Bryan, Cheryl and granddaughter Mia will be here later today and I'll head home in the am.

We're planning on an overnight camping trip with Karen and her grandson Cameron on Wednesday.  Our first time taking the motorhome out and her first time taking her vintage 1972/73? motorhome out too. Quick trip but better than nothing :)

Just a little group that represents Night in the Country!
Happy people out for a good time!

Have a great day!

Staying home mostly..Tamarack fire..smoke fills the air..Heading for CA today!

God Bless the Firefighters...these are fighting the Tamarack Fire..which is now almost 44,000 acres

Here we are almost another week has flown by!  We've been home mostly other than a trip to Raley's or in Ken's case, True Value.  Ken's helping Karen with her pool filter etc. We've been inundated with smoke from the Tamarack Fire near Markleeville, CA.  Seems there are fires everywhere and the firefighters are certainly keeping busy!

The view out my kitchen window...

Most afternoons look like this now 😟

I've cleaned some closets only 1 left and for some reason I find other things to do so I don't have to clean the last one haha. Saving the worst for last.  Not that bad, just where my extra comforters etc seem to get stacked.

Another gorgeous sunrise...

These were really faded after a couple of years in the outhouse..

So I didn't have to clean the last closet, decided to whip these up instead..

Much better πŸ˜ƒ

Today, I'm heading for Georgetown for the weekend. Bryan and Cheryl are heading for Idaho for a quick trip to see her grandkids in the morning.  They've got dogs and chickens so I'll be there to keep an eye one them.  Ken will head over sometime during the weekend and stay a night or two.  Adam will come visit after he gets off work on Sunday. Hopefully Erin too.  πŸ˜„

A beautiful sunset helped by smoke in the air...

We should be looking at mountains....

Not the best picture as I took it while driving..but Night In The Country is
back this year! Our little town is inundated with RVs and thousands of wanna be country people! 3 days of partying going on! Cody Johnson headlines tonight..I do like him! A great money maker for the Boys and Girls Club...

Bryan's car broke down on him coming home from work the other night and Cheryl's a/c went out on her car, so I'm loaning them mine for their trip.

They'll be back sometime Monday with granddaughter, Mia coming home with them for a visit 😊 Other than pictures, I haven't seen her in a few years.

Time to get this posted and work on getting out of here around 1000. Have a great day!

Jacob's promotion pinning.. Doug and Michelle visit! The back porch is done..

Jacob had his promotion ceremony on Tuesday in Italy.  πŸ’–  He sent me these couple of pictures (so did his dad).

Jacob being pinned as an E4, NCO...Such proud grandparents!

I'm sure his gorgeous smile is under there somewhere...damn masks!

Tuesday,  we got a text from Doug and Michelle that they were on their way from Topaz Lake! About an hour later we saw them coming down our road with hands waving from behind the window of their beautiful blue motorhome. Reminds me of Tom and Deb's Stinger B..you can't miss it anywhere!

We had them pull in next door at the J and K Rocking Ranch RV Park. John and Karen have some RV spots with water/electric and 50/30 amp.  Because of the temps nearing and over 100 degrees it was nice they offered up the spaces.  WE took the Mansion over a few days before.

Doug and Michelle's beautiful motor home

After some hugs and visiting we took them over to our house for some sandwiches and cooler temps.  They brought me 3 bottles of wine and Ken a twelve pack of his favorite IPAS.  Very sweet of them πŸ’—

Then over their way for the start of Happy Hour πŸ’–πŸ·πŸΊπŸΉ Later we joined Karen out back so Ken could cook up some chicken. Enjoyable times. We went back to the rigs later and a text for "nightcap?" came through...over we went, of course!  πŸ˜

Doug and Michelle with Mugsy on Doug's lap 😊

Wednesday morning we had invited them all over for some breakfast burritos. 0900 was the time and the goodies were done just a few minutes earlier. Everyone enjoyed making their own burrito.  More conversation just flowed!  We made plans for a little later to take them to see the sights of Yerington πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‚

Just about 1115 we piled into Ken's Tundra and off we went. IF you've been to Yerington, you know the tour doesn't take very long LOL.  The town of Yerington is just a little main street. We did go out to the dairy and that was interesting to see. Wish they did tours, that would be fun (not on a 100 degree day though).  They didn't realize we are, "The onion capital of the West". I'm thinking they saw more onion fields than they ever need to see again 😁

A little after 1300 we pulled into El Superior for what turned out to be linner.  More conversation flowed.  My taco salad was delicious. Doug is looking for the best fish tacos and these didn't live up to his expectations, but they were good. Keep looking Doug! They like Rubios in San Diego. Thank you Doug and Michelle for lunch! πŸ’–

After lunch we drove down Main Street and saw Karen's truck was still there.  We pulled into the parking lot, saw Karen at her favorite machine inside and then went over to The Cellar and had a couple of 🍻🍷 there.  Ken and I have been there a few times but not in a few years,  so this was nice with friends. We headed home after that.

We all retired to our respective rigs and just before 1630 got a text that Happy Hour had started next door! Be right there.  It was an enjoyable evening and too much wine was drank LOL..sure was fun though!

Mugsy sure took a liking to Michelle..and vice versa πŸ’™

Thursday morning we had them over for more burritos as there was plenty left from the day before. I made up some more eggs, but really didn't need too. Conversation flowed as it has for the last few days.  Karen came in to tell them good bye. All too soon it was time for them to hook up and go.   They were headed for Beatty, NV as their destination for Saturday night. I like their way of thinking..they don't like driving over 4 hours a day! Sounds good to me.

Doug and Michelle! Such a great couple! πŸ’—

Good bye you two!

Good bye! Come again soon!

We probably never would have met this couple if it weren't for blogging. He read my blog a few years ago and when they were in Carson City reached out to us.  We met for the first time there and had lunch at Carson Valley Inn. We've seen them a few times in AZ in the winters after that. They like to go for sure!  They're just coming off a two month trip and we were finally able to make it happen that they got to spend a few days with us.  Gotta love when a plan comes together! πŸ’™

After they left, we headed for Carson City Lowe's to get the 3 pieces of tin to finish the porch out back. ($120.00) As long as we're that close might as well order and pick up at Total Wine in Reno.  Back to Carson and Betsy's for linner.  A little later we headed over for a visit (Happy Hour) with Karen and to thank her for having our friends and us there for the past couple of days. 😊

This morning (Friday) after visiting with blogging friends Ken went and got the Mansion from next door.  Breakfast and then he headed out to get to work on the tin. We have a back porch again as of this afternoon!

James, a friend dropped one off at Karen's. I told her I'd like one, he dropped this off at our house.  No charge, just his joy in giving πŸ’™πŸ’™ Got to find a place to
display it!

Grandson Adam with his dad (our oldest) Bryan πŸ’•

Just a cute picture of Bryan and Cheryl 😍

We've had fun the last 6 weeks or so with 2 weddings, a reception, 4th of July party, camping with family, friends visiting, now it's time to get back to work.  Ken has been working on the porch in-between and I got the porch area painted. Time to work on painting the rest of the house! In-between some more fun! Life's too short to spend it all just working! πŸ’œπŸ˜Š

Have a great evening!
