Home the last couple of days..

The last few days just been enjoying being home.  It's cold....brrr...14 degrees this morning at 0500.

Monday, Ken was going to put up the Christmas lights outside, but not only was it cold it was very windy ..and when I say that it was WINDY!  So about 1500 he sat down and the movie Fred Claus came on so we  spent the afternoon watching that movie..funny!

Yesterday, it was cold but not windy so he worked on the lights and got them up..love it! I spent the day wrapping Christmas presents and working on a gift.  So now just waiting on some deliveries and a little more shopping.
My cute little house it up!

We did make a run to the Pioneer Casino in town and had their one trip salad bar, which is excellent for $2.95.  Worked for the both of us.

Ken called the new doctors office Monday to tell them that his shoulder was as bad as it had been before.  They have an orthopedic surgeon who comes to Yerington once a week on Thursdays so they'd call back.  They called yesterday morning to say they can't get him in on Thursday but could get him in today in Gardnerville.  As it was we were headed out today to get some groceries etc. So he has an appt at 1100.  We'll see what they have to say.

We had a great day as always at Linda's ..so glad she hosts this every year.  We'll be back at Christmas too.

Headed back to the hotel and then at 0500 I met Wendy, Linda and Adam at Penney's in Roseville, then a few other stops.  Picked Ken up at a little after 0900 and we went down the road to Denney's.  After said goodbye to my sisters and Adam and we headed home.  Beautiful drive on I80 and home around 1400.

Lazy afternoon..

Yesterday (Saturday) cleaned and then we put up our Christmas decorations inside.  Had (too much) egg nog and brandy, put up our tree and watched my favorite movie...The Night they Saved Christmas. Just love it!!

We're in Rocklin, CA...

Yesterday afternoon we took the kids on a quad ride for awhile..It was a cold Tuesday in Yerington, but we went out at the warmest time of the day.  I had been cooking and was wondering if I could find the time, but I did..they're only here for a little while.

We went out on a new trail and then came back to the track.

so he could drive the 400 with the clutch..
He did awesome!
It was a really good ride!  Then we came back and Papa bar b q ed his burgers which were awesome!

This morning after a breakfast of pancakes for the kids we waited until mid morning and then left to head to CA.  The ride was beautiful, no snow but the mountains had some..it was beautiful.

We dropped off Seth and Mason and then stopped by the motel to make sure we had a 1st floor room and then headed to Antelope and dropped off Aaron at home.  Stopped at KFC and got some dinner for the room, and here we are relaxing.

We would have gone by my sister Linda's to drop off food, but since we had a 1st floor room we just brought the ice chests in..Tomorrow Turkey Day!!

Just saw this morning that our neice Chelsea Kay just made 1st LT..so proud of that young lady!  Don and Dana went to the ceremony so hoping to have pics to post!

Happy Birthday Jacob and the Grandkids are Here!

Friday was our Grandson Jacob's 15th birthday!
Jacob!

Saturday morning Ken and I went to breakfast at Dini's before I left to go meet Eric and Christina near Highway 50.  A beautiful drive, some points looked like rain or snow but nothing!
Aaron, Mason and Seth on their way to meet me!

Met them about 1000 hrs and we were happily on our way home.  Eric and Christina headed over to Tahoe and some Rum Runners and then back to Placerville and the Jack Russell Brewery.  Looks like they had a good day.

We stopped at Walmart in Gardnerville on the way home. The kids spent the rest of the day playing video games and a little outside time with guns.  Seth and Aaron stayed up all night and played video games.  Then they took a nap as the sun rose..haha..

Ken worked on the money pit putting a new to him bumper on the back (Thanks KC)..Looks nice as the old one was pretty crooked and beat up.

After lunch Ken got the quads out and we took off for BLM and some riding. Ken and I followed along in the 73 Dodge..we're styling here in the desert!

Probably out for 2 hours, getting cold..but the kids had a great time!

Getting a few pointers from Papa before we head out

After reaching the top of the mountain..Papa, Mason, Aaron and Seth

Awoke about 0400 to the sound of rain on the roof..love that sound, but definitely don't hear it enough here in the desert.  Hpefully it'll quit a little later, as the boys are planning on riding again.  Ken's hoping to teach Mason (who had some lessons last weekend, courtesy of his dad, Eric) and Aaron how to shift on the 400..it's the only one with a clutch and now Seth is the only one who can ride it.

I'll start some prep work for the Holiday this week and before you know it we'll be heading over for Thanksgiving.

My sister Linda had her heart cath on the 17th and is doing well..:)
