Quilt is finished...more bunkhouse work!

Yesterday we headed for Lowe's in Carson City and picked up a few things.  Then on to Mikes it's a sales/ service dealer for ATV's etc.  We ordered an oil filter for Adam's quad a few weeks ago..hadn't heard from them so we went by there.  Well, good thing because it turns out he put in a regular order, instead of a special order whites was supposed to be.  So he reordered it and is supposed to call when it comes in.

Ken had called Sierra RV the other day, because we had dropped off a tire and rim that was under warranty and was leaking.  That was June 30th.  We stopped by a few weeks ago and they said it had just got approved that morning so it should only be a week or so till we could pick it up..not another word.  So he called and a guy told him it had never been put in for approval and he would do it..well, how can something be approved and never have been put in?!  Liars ...

We got a letter in the mail a couple of months ago telling us that our bank was closing in Auburn so we needed to transfer our safe deposit box..long story short, it was the wrong bank so they were going to change it and then I could close it..well, since I was going to CA last Friday I thought I'd close it..hasn't been changed yet!  Was only supposed to take 2 days.  Well, it still hasn't changed yet..interesting why is it that people just can't do their job?

Anyway, enough of that!

Walmart and then Carson Valley Inn for a late lunch! Yum!
Last night we spent some time on the front porch and then moved to the back porch for the sunset!

Today we stayed home, Ken worked on the bunkhouse and I finished the quilt.  Got started on the curtains I'm making for the bunkhouse.  A very good day at home, here in beautiful Yerington.
Got the quilt tied off this morning..not perfect
but it'll work for the bunkhouse..
Material i'm making curtains from...actually in the quilt too!

Thought about going to the Rib Cook Off tomorrow, but thinking we've changed our minds as we'll be in Fallon for the Cantaloupe Festival this weekend..again you never know with us, when tomorrow comes!

How plans can change quickly...

Linda and Bobby were going to Dillons Beach this last weekend.  They rented a house and Dusty and family were going along with Jesse.  She had asked Wendy to go but she couldn't get off on Friday.  Linda had Adam hooked up to watch the doggies at their house for 2 nights..so hmmmm...I called Wendy and said how about we head for Dillons early Saturday morning and spend the night.  After some talking Wendy agreed!  So I met Ken in Reno on Friday, he was headed home (he had mistakenly taken my blood pressure pills with him)..headed down the hill and met up with Adam at Linda's house.  I took him out to Garcia's for dinner and called it an early night.

When Diane and Greg were here we took them to Weed Heights..used to be a huge mining operation...

I picked Wendy up about 0515 and we headed to Fairfield where we had a nice breakfast at Dennys.  I have AARP and get 15% off there..but it was really good food.  Got to Dillons about 0830.  Everyone was home, except Bobby and Dusty had taken a nice long walk.  They all left to go to lunch in Bodega Bay, Wendy and I took a walk along the beach and then back to the house for a late lunch.

Enjoyed the afternoon with everyone, Raiders game on..good food, good drink.
Bobby bar b qued some chicken breasts, Chelsea made some potatoes that were so good, sour cream, cheese and some other stuff..yum..good thing calories didn't count this weekend haha..

Little Owen definitely kept everyone entertained..he's talking up a storm and loves to be outside..

Jesse watching the Raiders game...

Owie!!

Raiders fans!

Jesse enjoyed some bourbon and we were able to sit outside and talk until 2330.  A lot of the talk was about good times with my mom and dad.  :)

The next morning we got ready to go and then headed over to the little cafe next to the Dillons Beach store and Linda bought us all breakfast. Delicious..Don't think Jesse enjoyed it as much as he could have (a little  hangover for the boy)...but it was a wonderful, if not short trip.  Left about 1030 or so, we made a quick stop in Dixon and visited with mom and dad then I took Wendy home and then headed home to Yerington myself.  Long day, but nice drive.

I bought the Kid Rock CD, First Kiss..listened to it over and over on the way home.  I look at Kid Rock that either he's good or bad, I hate the yelling..none of that on this CD, every song is awesome!

So today, I worked on the quilt, Ken on the bunkhouse.  Both are looking good.  Tomorrow it's time to pick up pills, Walmart, Lowe's and of course Carson Valley Inn..another day gone!

Rib Cook Off starts Wednesday in Sparks..Cantalope Festival in Fallon this weekend.
Looks like Cheryl and her sister, Kim will be here Sunday and leave on Tuesday! We're excited about that!..oh and Lucy too of course!

Sunday the 28th was Linda and Bobby's 34th wedding anniversary...

More work on the quilt and just peace and quiet..

Today was a quiet day..up at 0515..coffee, computing and just taking my time getting motivated..made some meatloaf for tomorrow night and salad.

So on to the quilt..today I finished the top and got the backing on.  Now to find a full size sheet and use that for the back and it'll be pretty close to done.  Thinking that's what tomorrow's for.
Quilt top done..there is a pattern of some sort..

batting ...

Not much else going on...just quiet around here during the day.

Dave Alaskan sent this picture this morning of the guys by the camper..looks like a good time..well, at least Lance looks to be enjoying a beer around 1000..

Saw tonight on FB that Seth got a letter inviting him to a trip to DC and New York in April of 17 based on character and /or academics..cost is $2300..so I guess we know what the Kay family will be saving for..Great job Seth!...

A nice visit with Diane and Greg...

My favorite pic of our new tractor in TN...the chicken and the beautiful sunset!
Thanks Don for the pics!
Diane and Greg arrived here mid afternoon with their 5th wheel.  Ken had them pull around and back up on the concrete in the back.  It was hot so we opened all the windows and the door.  They decided to sleep in our second bedroom of the house.  There's an a/c unit in there and so they were guaranteed to be cooler.  We had a good dinner of chicken enchiladas and coleslaw.  Then some good conversation before bedtime.

Made a breakfast casserole for Tuesday morning. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.  We hung around awhile, Ken and Greg went for a quad ride to the BLM land.  After they got back we took them to Weed Heights and the old pit mine.  Not too exciting but it got us out for a bit.  A drive through our little town so Greg could see and back home.

Ken bar b qued his hamburgers and I made the Poblano pepper potato salad, which everyone seemed to love.

This morning, a breakfast of home fries, bacon, sausage pancakes and eggs.  Diane and Greg got ready to pull out and Ken got ready to head for Meadow Lake until Friday.  Waved good bye about 1000 and i'm alone.

Couldn't get motivated for a few hours, then some laundry and cleaning.  This afternoon I worked on the quilt, finished the rows and now we'll see where that leads.  I need a full size sheet for the backing, so might have to wait for a trip to the big city to get it...washed the burlap I bought for the curtains for the bunkhouse so I might work on that tomorrow.

Saw on FB that Diane and Greg made it to Zephyr Cove at South Shore to spend two nights...
