A quick catch up :)

Time just keeps flying by way too fast! So here we are on Thirsty Thursday once again. If we were at Russell and Lori's I'm thinking we'd be joining them out somewhere for a few adult beverages! Not this week though. πŸ˜’

We had our usual Champagne Sunday and enjoyed that in the outdoor kitchen once again. This cauliflower pizza is sure addicting for Sundays.

Excuse the pan, my new one was in Mansion. I had the doc's
half. Chicken, onion, mushroom and cheese. Ken's the
combo mainly. Oh so yummy.

It was a beautiful Sunday to be outdoors!

Monday I got another package out to Jacob. Last one took about 2 1/2 weeks to get to him on that big ship. I was beginning to think I'd have to go to a big city Post Office to get the job done, but finally the guy at the second post office in town got it right!

Goodies for him and his friends. Takes me back to when
Russell was on a ship so many years ago πŸ’™

Tuesday we headed for South Lake Tahoe with the car hauler to pick up some firewood from a Facebook Marketplace ad. A tree service was offering it for Free and boy did they load us up. Won't be going back as the rounds are huge and it'll be another year or more before they'll be usable. Mostly pine so we won't burn it in the house but for outdoor fires. A lot of work for Ken getting those rounds off the trailer.

Wednesday, I spent the day working on Adam's taxes. I made sure I can get into our tax program to send to the CPA in Winnemucca too. I need to just get it done and over with.

Today we're dealing with lots of wind here. Ken's been outside most of the day working on the firewood. Power has gone out once already and the internet is still out! Thank goodness for mobile hotspot!

Ken makes his last truck payment tomorrow! Woohoo!

Stole it from FB. Russell, Lori and friends headed to the
beach for a day. Looks like he had a good catch.

Baby Phoenix on his bike πŸ’™

His first time eating french toast, nothing left so I'm
assuming he liked it. :)

Time to call it a day and get this posted. Have a great
evening!

Ogilby Road friends, River Island State Park, Pahranagat camping and HOME!

Last blog we were at Ogilby Road, just over the California line with friends. Now we're home in Yerington. Time just flies too quickly, can't believe we're going into March next week!

We arrived at Ogilby Road on February 14th, Valentines Day just in time for Happy Hour! We got our chairs and enjoyed sitting around for hours just catching up with everyone. We met John and Brenda too for a few hours. Keith, who was heading out towards Canada even came for the night before heading out the next day. Later in the evening we had a fire (thanks Tom) and Ken Wilson serenaded us with songs and his guitar. Ken is a very talented man, not just with the music, but he's quite the baker and gardener too amongst other things too I'm sure.  It was a great evening.

This is actually from Friday as I was bad with pictures. Deb,
Tom, Jerry, Ken and Kim is there too.

Riley, Deb, Kim

Thursday morning we took our time and then near noon, Deb invited us over to see her new to her home. A beautiful fifth wheel that her and daughter Riley live in full time. Before we knew it we had chatted for about 2 hours and then it was time for Happy Hour! Again, another beautiful day with warm temperatures and sunshine.

Friday morning dawned beautiful once again. I could sure get used to this! We just enjoyed time outside visiting. Ken and Tom headed out to look for some wood in the early afternoon. Right around 1400 Jerry and Elva came to visit for the afternoon. Elva and I worked together in the 80's at an elementary school as teacher aides. Several years ago we got together on Facebook through a  mutual friend. They spend their winters in Wellton about an hour from Ogilby Road. It was great they came out as everyone wanted to see them too! A great afternoon was had by all😁

Elva, Jerry, Deb, Tom

Later in the evening Tom got a nice fire going and we enjoyed another night of fire and music courtesy of Ken. Good times!

Saturday morning came all too quickly and it was time for us to head out. Hugs all around and we headed down the road.

A beautiful sunrise out my window

We were hoping to get a spot at Buckskin Mountain once again but the sites that we could fit in were all taken. So we headed to the next park a couple of miles down the road. River Island State Park. A very nice park, but not much of a river view. Of course all their sites were full, but they had the boat parking area they use as overflow. Ok, works for us. $20.00 a night, basically in a parking lot but we don't care. You have access to the dump station, bathrooms, showers if you choose to use them. We have our own, so we didn't.

Got ourselves set up and then it's Happy Hour. Another warm day, shorts weather YAY!

River Island State Park

This is where we spent our Champagne Sunday too. I found the cauliflower pizza crust that I thought had mysteriously disappeared. It slipped behind the shelves, folded itself in half and then was behind the vegetable bins. 😱 I only found it because when I pulled a bin out, it wouldn't go back in. We were able to make cauliflower pizza rather than the low carb tortillas. πŸ˜‹

After having brunch we headed out to the beach area where they had a picnic table. Spent the afternoon watching the river and some boats go up and down. 80 degrees!

The beautiful Colorado!

Ken barbecued some burgers for dinner and they were yummy!

Monday morning got ourselves ready and headed out for Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge where we spent the night heading for AZ. No problem getting a site, actually the same one we got before. It was cold, no more shorts or flip flops to be worn! Ken started a fire in the little red campfire for awhile so it was nice to be outside.

Tuesday morning we headed for home and arrived here about 1400. The wind was pushing us all the way. πŸ˜„ We unloaded what we had to and then headed next door to see the furry children. Mugsy and Lila were ecstatic to see us. Karen closed the store early and joined us there. Got caught up on all the goings on and enjoyed a few adult beverages. 🍺🍷

Heading into Hawthorne, NV beautiful Mt. Grant

Yesterday was a day of unloading and cleaning the Mansion for whenever the next trip happens! Seems as though never ending laundry had to be done too! LOL. I'm not a fan of laundromats so glad we had enough clothes with us to make it through.

Ken said in the am why don't we do Linner instead of dinner? Works for me as I prefer to eat mid afternoon like we do when we go out to eat. No dinner needed. We decided on hamburgers and fries.

About 1300 we headed out to the outdoor kitchen and he started a fire in the outdoor fire ring. He got the barbecue going and I started the fries on the griddle. Between enjoying the fire and a few adult drinks we were ready to eat about 1500. Perfect and delicious! Back out to the fire after linner. Around 1700 we headed next door for the evening with Karen and the pups.

So yummy with that anaheim chili!

Today was a day of chores. Ken's been outside all day moving the Mansion to her place, then the cargo trailer and other things! I had most things I wanted to get done finished by 1330 when we had lunch. Blog was next on the list!

Tomorrow we'll leave here early for Ken's cardio appointment in Carson City at 0820. Because my refrigerator is empty, time for a Walmart stop and a few others.

It was an awesome trip, just too short, but better than nothing! Love all our friends from Kingman, to Michigan and Canada!πŸ’—πŸ’— We met because of blogging, amazing isn't it!?! Such a good life we have! πŸ’™

Stole it from FB. Eric finally got to go snowboarding with the
kids! Mason, Seth and Holly! πŸ’™πŸ’™

I need to ask him at 48 how he felt the next day! 😁

Before I go, I forgot to say Thank you last blog to Doug and Michelle for getting us the spot next to you and for the pizza, along with the great time! πŸ’™

Karen's home so headed over for an early happy hour! Have a great evening!

Buckskin Mt, Q with Doug and Michelle, Ogilby Rd with friends!

We left home early Friday morning (9th) arriving at Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge around 1500. It was raining a bit and cold. A nice park,15 sites, with a fire ring, picnic table and cover. FREE!

We settled in and had a zucchini casserole I had made before leaving home for dinner. First time I had made this dish, but definitely will be making it again. It was cold and sprinkled some but nice and cozy in the Mansion.

Saturday morning we hit the road, aiming for LaPaz county park. We were hoping to get a spot there but no luck as they had a couple of rallies going on. I called Buckskin Mountain State Park and they had a couple fo first come first serve spots available. No hookups, but there was a dump station and water available. All we need. Headed there and got a beautiful spot right by the river. We had green grass, covered picnic table and a fire ring. $35.00 a night. A little steep for no hookups but worth it! We were happy! So happy, that we spent our Champagne Sunday there!

Buckskin Mt State Park. Hoping to have the same view
on Sunday!

Monday around 1200 we got out of there, stopped for some ice and gas and hit the road for Quartzite, AZ to meet up with friends Doug and Michele at Hasslers RV Park! 😁 Luckily it was under 40 miles to get there.

We greeted each other with hugs and smiles. It's been about a year and half or so since we've seen each other. Pulled out the lawn chairs, a couple of adult beverages and talked the afternoon away. Once it cooled down we moved the party to their motorhome. I don't even know for sure what time we called it a night, but it was a great evening!

Visiting with Doug and Michelle at Hasslers RV Park

Love these horseshoe sculptures throughout the park

Finally a picture of Doug! 😍

Tuesday morning I made breakfast burritos for us all and after that we loaded into their car and headed for the desert and some desert golf with several of their friends. We did drop in at the air park, saw Bill and made plans for later in the day with him and Patsy.

A great group of people!

Spent the next two hours or so, playing golf. Of course, I'm the only one who plays left handed and all the clubs were right handed so it was interesting playing with a backward club. Found that worked the best for me rather than attempting to play right handed. By the end I wasn't doing too badly. 😁

We got back to camp, chatted a bit and another adult beverage. Doug got on his ZAP scooter and went down to  the fleet market and came home with a left handed club for me πŸ’— Left it with them in case they find someone else who is a lefty! Hopefully i'll get to try it out next year!

I got to ride Doug's ZAP and it's so much fun! Like riding a big tricycle but not having to push the pedals! LOL.

A few minutes before 1500 we headed for Outback Pizza. Bill and Patsy were there, so after hugs we all went inside and ordered. It's a different place than Silly Al's but we all liked it and the pizza was delicious!

They had a band playing so it was hard at times to hear what everyone was saying, but the music was good. Once again it was time to say good bye until next year. Hopefully then we'll have more time to spend!

Back at camp again we were outside until the chill pushed us inside. I wasn't able to last as long as the night before so about 1930 we came home.

We were up for a bit and then crawled into bed.

This little cutie turned 1 on the 11th!
Happy Birthday Phoenix!

I'm finishing this post from Ogilby Rd in CA where we met up with Tom, Deb, Ken, Kim, Deb and Riley. We got here Wednesday afternoon and all too soon we'll be leaving tomorrow. Having a wonderful time and the weather is perfect! Elva and Jerry will be here about 1400 for a visit this afternoon! πŸ˜€

Have a great day!

A very quick week! On the road this morning!

It's hard to believe it's been another week since I have updated this blog!

Grandson Jacob got liberty for a few days. Much deserved
I am sure! πŸ’™

Last Sunday was Champagne Sunday and we enjoyed the whole day. Ken had two fires going and we had the shades down on the front half of the kitchen. Nice and toasty! We decided on cauliflower piazza again, I opted to follow Ken's lead with pepperoni, cheese and mushrooms.

Good Morning!

What's better than one fire? TWO!

A little snow

It was all delicious. We enjoyed brunch, but because the weather was snowy, we hung out in the outdoor kitchen watching movies. A great day, not something we want to do everyday but it sure worked for this day.

Ken had a cardiology appointment scheduled for the 7th, so we took our time getting the Mansion ready for a southern AZ visit. They called on the 6th to cancel and reschedule for the 23rd. Darn πŸ˜₯ We thought we had until March for our little vacation.

So Wednesday we headed for Reno and Total Wine, Walmart and groceries.  We had a late lunch at Betsy's and then home.

It's been a cold and snowy week

Thursday we both spent the day getting the Mansion and truck ready for leaving today.  The day flew, so there's still a few things to do this morning. We normally go through the  Vegas area, but the Super Bowl is happening this weekend, and we hate to see that traffic! Going to see what we can do to bypass it! We'll see where we end up tonight!

Hopefully next week we will meet up with our friends, Doug and Michelle, and Bill and Patsy in Quartzite. Then we will move towards the Yuma / CA area and see Deb, Riley, Tom and Deb, Ken and Kim and anyone else there. Hoping to meet up with our friend Elva and hubby Jerry too.  A quick week, but a fun filled one. Hopefully next year we'll have more time!

Grand nephew Phoenix turns one on Sunday. How time flies!

Time to wake the hubby and get going! 😊
