A great trip and now some down time in Yerington...

Monday I had a nice drive over the hill to pick up the grandkids.  Picked up Adam who drove to pick up Seth and Mason and then he drove to Bridgeport.  Gotta say with experience he has turned into a good, cautious driver..(I base this on how many times I had to tell him to slow down)..hahah..much better.

We stopped for a quick lunch in Gardnerville and then headed down 395 for Bridgeport.  It was a beautiful drive, Topaz Lake was gorgeous and nicely filled.  The rivers were running high and fast.  Stopped at Walker Burger and got Seth and Mason some shakes and Adam wanted a diet coke.  On we went...Bridgeport came quickly and into Lower Honeymoon Flat campground and found Ken set up in #4.  Nice and shady, mosquitoes were out in force so with a little Off we were good.  The kids took off fishing immediately..no luck..nice dinner and fire and off too bed.
Instead of Highway 50 to the campground we went around Sly Park and hit Hwy 88..
This is at the dam of Caples Lake..

Seth, Mason and Adam..looking at the water..

Beautiful Caples Lake..

Branches hanging over the fire pit..No more!

Tuesday morning, Ken took the kids to Twin Lakes to fish for a bit..no luck..I had watched the planting truck dump quite a few fish into the creek..yay!  The boys came back and took off fishing...no fish..what the heck.  Every time we've been there they've always caught fish.  Yes the water was running faster, but still across from us it was really nice.  So they fished their little hearts out..dinner, fire and try again tomorrow.

Evening campfire..

Even camping the boys get their special pancakes..helps to have a
frig to keep the ice cream cold!

Across from our site..the boys sizing it up...

Seth and Adam..

Wednesday, off they went again..no fish..so we headed over to Bridgeport Lake..which last year looked horrible from the drought..this year it's gorgeous.  After talking with the camp host he had said people were doing better over there.  No fish..so back to camp..and no fish..Now the only thing I can say..we saw lot's of fishermen, and only saw one guy walking back with one fish..

Smorfes  before dinner..waiting for Adam to get back..he went back to  the
lake to take some pictures..

Thursday morning, the boys didn't fish at all..thinking they were pretty disappointed.  So we got ready and were home about 1130.  Nice.  The boys are enjoying the wifi here at the house.  So glad we finally did it.

So the last day or so, has been pretty slow around here..Tonight, Papa's famous burgers and then in the morning, i'll head back over the hill and take them home. This summer vacation seems pretty piece meal..there's a few days here and there, but no really long period for a really good trip..but we'll see.

Thinking if it works out...Ken and I will head over to Sand Mountain later this week for a few days.  We bought the season pass last October and haven't been back yet..

Adam has senior pics on the 14th..Eric, Chris and boys leave for their trip on Friday.  Fun for them!

Cheryl sent these pics of her new little flower bed and transplanting of plants..love it!
