A week catch up...Spending time with Aaron and seeing friends! Home again! Russell and Lori in Florida

Me and three of my favorite boys! Aaron, Seth and Mason! Only thing that would have
made it better? If Adam and Jacob could have been there! πŸ’™

Last Sunday we decided to try out our new pizza oven that Russell and Lori gave us for Mother's/Father's day. Never in our dreams did we think that's what they had got us. Russell has one and he loves it!

It was amazing. Somehow the taste is totally different than what you get out of the regular oven! Thanks you two, this will be our new go to on Sundays for sure!

Monday we went to Cal Ranch in Carson City to pick up Ken's new toy. A 37 ton Black Diamond log splitter. We've had a 25 ton for years, but with the new wood he just got he needed something better! This certainly fills the bill and he's thrilled with it.

Tuesday morning we took two cars as Ken had a cardio appointment in Carson and I was heading over the hill for a few days to spend some time with Aaron. His parents are in Florida for the week, she's working, he's playing!

The cardio appointment went just fine. Everything looks good and he'll be seen again in 6months. What a difference from last year at this time. The ablation seems to have done its job!

I stopped at Winco in Roseville and did some grocery shopping before heading for Aaron's house. My car registered 115 for a bit and pulling into the driveway it had been at 113 for quite awhile. Needless to say I was not a pretty picture by the time I got done unloading! Aaron was working otherwise I would have had help.

Ken's sister Diane came over and visited for a bit which was nice.

Eventually Aaron and Kenna made their appearances and enjoyed the evening.

Wednesday morning I was awake about 0500. Laid there awhile and then decided to head to North Highlands and Marie's Donut shop. Picked up some of the best donuts anywhere for Aaron and Kenna. A quick run by Safeway for a few things that i didn't get yesterday.

Marie's Donuts North Highlands, CA!

Wednesday evening we had company for dinner. John and Andrea, Mike and Mel, Allissa along with Aaron and Kenna. A good time was had by all.

Haven't made "real" lasagna in years but it turned out great. Lasagna,
Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Caesar Salad, French bread, Winco chicken
and potato salad. Allissa made a batch of her amazing cookies
for dessert! YUM. πŸ˜€

Thursday I did some running around and picked up some more caesar salad for dinner. We were having more company. Seth, Mason and Diane came for dinner along with Allissa. Aaron was working but got home in time to see everyone.

Friday I was able to meet with friends, Jerry and Elva at Brookfields. It was really nice that they came out from West Sacramento to see me. On top of that they bought me lunch too. :)

Once I left there I headed over to my friend Joanie's place in North Highlands. Joanie and I have known each other since November 1993 when the Service Center opened and she was one of our first volunteers.

We shared a bottle of wine and before you know it time for me to head back to Aaron's place. Aaron and Kenna had taken a day trip to Lake Tahoe. Once he got back we ordered Mexican food from Jalisco's and it was yummy! While I was waiting for Aaron to get home, Gabi, a neighbor popped in for a short visit! She and I had been waving at each other all week so it was nice for a catch up!

They had a great time paddle boarding Lake TahoeπŸ’•

Joanie, she'll be 101 on August 12th. Still lives alone and
takes care of everything πŸ’•

Saturday morning I loaded the car and waited for the kids to wake up. Finally at 1000 or so I woke them up. Waffles with strawberries and bananas were the breakfast of the day. After cleaning up I told them goodbye. Bittersweet as I won't see Kenna again until Thanksgiving. She leaves next week for college at Alabama State.

Had a nice uneventful drive home up Highway 50. So done with I 80 and all their construction and big rigs!

Ken and I had Happy Hour outside by the outdoor kitchen. Later in the evening we had a fire! Yep, hard to believe with the temps, but it really cooled down.

Took a Can Am ride after I got home to check out "Night in
the Country" Looks different than a few weeks ago. LOL.

Hundreds and more of RVs. Pictures don't do it justice.
Thousands of people come out to be cowboys and cowgirls
for the weekend and listen to "country" music. The only
country stars I knew of were Ned LeDeux and Randy Houser.

Yesterday of course was Champagne Sunday. Ken cooked a low carb cauliflower pizza in the pizza oven and it was oh so yummy! I actually took a nap in the afternoon for a bit. Then later we headed to Karen's to get caught up on everything.

Russell and Lori enjoying their last day in Miami, Florida

So what do you do in Miami when the work is finished?

You rent a Corvette for 12 hours and enjoy!!

Way to have fun kids!! πŸ’™

This morning I made easy breakfast burritos and we headed out. Ken had dropped off his car hauler trailer on Friday in Gardnerville for some brake line work. I went to Walmart while he picked it up. We got home around noon.

Nothing too exciting this afternoon but now it's time to get this published and enjoy a warm (hot) Happy Hour! Enjoy your evening! 🍺🍸
