Goshen Springs Campground to Bayou Bodcau Reservoir, Louisiana..Happy Birthday Aaron!

Happy Birthday to our youngest grandson, Aaron! He turns 15 today! Talked with him this evening.  He gets to pick where they go to dinner..uhh. not happening today.  His mom was going to get pizza from Old Town for his dinner and down the road he'll get what he really wants. Happy Birthday sweetie. 6 months to a driver's permit! 😵😳😱💗

Wasn't he just adorable!!!

Awww...

Russell and his boys...💖

We had a wonderful night last night at Goshen Springs Campground! What a great park and honestly if we knew then what we know now we would have stayed longer.

We got out of there at 0930 which is practically unheard of for us LOL..Had a beautiful drive down the Natchez Trace to Jackson, MS.  Our plan was to stop at Walmart and see what we could get.  The first one was kind of scary for us, so we decided against it and drove on.  You've got to go with your gut and that's what we did.  We were afraid we'd come out and everything in the truck would be gone..honestly.

Waterway where they can launch boats

Pearl River and Bennett's Resorvoir..

The colors were amazing! It was definitely a WOW drive!

An awesome drive!

The GREEN was AMAZING!

I loved how the purple popped!!

We ended up at the Walmart in Vicksburg, MS. Nice store, but not stocked with anything.  Ken was able to get beer and I got some frozen chicken breasts.

Our plan was to drive to the Corp of Engineer Park near Shreveport, LA.  We got here and found that all the parks will be closed as of Sunday!  Bummer bummer! We're here but it sure messes with our plans on the way home. New Mexico State Parks are closed too! We'll still enjoy our way home one way or another.

If we get home early..guess I'll see if there's a couple of grandsons available to come for a visit since they're out of school :)

My emails still won't send so I can download those pictures. As soon as we get to better internet I will download them :)

Have a good evening..we're in the Mansion listening to the rain fall..

  1. Beautiful drive today. Happy birthday Aaron! 15 is a great age to be. Too bad about the state parks. I hope this mess goes away soon. Makes you wonder how this country would be if we had a real life threatening disaster. Oh well. Enjoy your journey the best you can and Be safe.

  4. Happy Birthday Aaron! Hoping this delay won't be much longer.
Parks closing might limit where you'll be stopping for the night.
Once you are home you might want to wait to visit with the grands because they might not know they they have the virus and give you.
Hoping things start to clear up soon.
Be Safe and Enjoy the open road.

    It's about time.

    1. Honestly Rick, if the grandkids can come I'm going to get them ASAP. That will be up to their parents. Not gonna worry any about this thing anymore than I would worry about getting a cold from one of them. Yeah afraid we'll be heading home sooner than we want, but will have another vacation as soon as this country comes to its senses :(
