Where do the days go?!

I have no idea how the days go so fast!  Sunday was another hot day in Yerington.  So after working a little bit outside the rest of the day was spent inside in the air conditioning.  Ken started digging up the septic line where it will go to the future outhouse.  I am hula hoeing some of the tumbleweeds around the yard area.  I will only do this early in the am before the lizards come out and scare me..and they do!  Sunday is short and sweet, because I am old and forgot what we really did.  hahah

Monday we started the day the same, he worked on the line and I did some hula hoeing.  I was going to make some apple oatmeal muffins and banana bread but it was already too hot to fire up the oven.  I just made the batters and then put them in the oven this morning.  We had picked up a tri trip at Winco the other day.  Honestly can't remember the last time we cooked a tri trip.  We had some at our son Bryan's probably 2 years or more ago.  I marinated it in italian dressing and then turned it all day to make sure it was all covered and flavorful.  Yesterday afternoon there was a breeze so joined Ken outside by the bunkhouse and just enjoyed for a bit.

Later we moved ourselves to the front porch and Ken started to bar b q the tri trip, low and slow.  So we enjoyed the sun going down and a little wine and beer.  A perfect evening.

Yumm...

Once we sat down to dinner, it was ohhhh so good.  We had tri trip, corn on the cob, homemade mashed potatoes and some green beans.  What a feast!  Then off to bed.  Again we've been in the spare room, just too hot!

Ken and our neighbor's dog Mugsy..he escapes and
comes over to play when he can!

He is a cutie..thinking he needs a good haircut for the desert
weather..

The moon rising!

Our dinner..I had some great northern beans with my potatoes..

This morning we got up and went about our outside workings, breakfast and then decided to head for Fernley so Ken could get more of the piping he needs for the septic and water lines. We thought we'd get back home in time for lunch but time moved on so we went to Chinese in Fernley.  Good, but not as good as Carson City.  Turned out to be a good thing we ate there as leaving Fernley the Highway was closed due to a fatal accident.  We had to take the long way home which probably added another 40 minutes to the drive.
Part of the line Ken's dug and backfilled

40 more foot of septic pipe and 50 feet of water pipe..

Leftovers for dinner so now just trying to catch up.

  2. Okay, I'm afraid that I don't know what a tri tip is other than maybe a steak?
Nice sunset photos and Ken is making progress on the trench he is digging. You are still in the heat while we are still in the cool.
