Home and cold...brrr

The other night after I posted we were just sitting in the living room watching tv and our neighbor John on our left side came over and invited us to come enjoy their fire and have a cocktail.  Ok!  They moved in about 2 years ago.  The house was sitting empty and neglected when we moved in 4 1/2 years ago. They have done amazing things with that little unloved shack.  Both he and his wife Karen are really nice people!  WE got back a little after nine and that's when we enjoyed the 15 bean stew that had been cooking in the crockpot! Yummy!  Plenty for leftovers too!

Wednesday morning we got up and got things going after our usual coffees, computing and visiting with blogging friends.  It was a quiet day here at home, I don't think either of us went anywhere.  Ken did some more piping and now it's out by the bunkhouse where the outhouse will be.

where it will be hooked up to the water system

The blocks are so we don't drive over the pipe..
Temporary...

The new cleanup

The water line and the sewer line..now all we need is the
outhouse..

I ordered this little mason jar led light for in the
bunkhouse

Yesterday afternoon we met in the middle and enjoyed some front porch sitting at the bunkhouse. So nice, solving world problems (just kidding).  Either way, enjoyable.  Then inside for the news (why I don't know).
Just some of our clouds..

Had some leftover beans for dinner and they were so delicious.  I'll be making those again!

Last night we went to bed with the window open in the bedroom, then I opened the back door in the middle of the night because it was warm in the bedroom.  It didn't take too long to cool it off.  This morning upon waking it was cold! Had our usual morning and then got the day started.

Someone's getting rain over there

Love the clouds..

Rain over the mountains..

I made some of the apple oatmeal muffins just because i had the stuff.  They'll be good with coffee in the morning. Ken worked outside getting up a big trailer load of ragweed from over by the fence line..looks good!  Now we've got 3 pretty good size burn piles when burn season opens.  Hopefully soon.

Ken wanted a stuff bell pepper for dinner so after our lunch of veggie wraps I worked on that for a bit.

Ken brought firewood up to the front porch as we figured we'd need a fire soon. The weather was really cold today.  About 1500 the skies let loose with rain and hail.  The temperature got even colder.  So now we've got our first fire of the year!!
Rain and cold this afternoon..

Our first fire of the season! :)

  1. I like looking at the property people have so trying to figure yours out. I see the bunky so is the white building with porch your home? What is the large building beside it? Maybe in another post, you could show a picture from back further. I'm nosy that is all! :)
Your disposal pipe is like ours although we aren't hooked up to sewer in the normal way.
