More electrical work and I made some throw pillows

Had a good day on Friday.  We stayed home except Ken ran to the dump.  After that he got started on drilling out for the electrical to continue in the bunkhouse.
I cleaned the house and then decided to find a project.
Ken working on the wiring..

I had some left over material so got on pinterest for some easy pillow tips and then made 3 pillows for the bunkhouse.

We're heading for Fallon and the Country Friends sale..they should have a bunch of vendors there so will be looking for bargains.

Our neighbor, Joe told us about a bluegrass band that is in Yerington on Saturday night so we're planning on attending that little concert.  Woohoo a night out in Yerington!  We do love our little town!

Need a trip to Lowe's to get some more bunkhouse stuff..but probably not tomorrow.

Don sent a few pictures of their property..love it!

These benches were made by a Mennonite crafter..beautiful!

Don finished rocking the road through the trees..should make
travel easier after the rains..

Found this oldie but a goodie on Facebook of Russell and boys...

Lucy's goggles came yesterday!  Isn't she adorable?!

Work on the Bunkhouse and bed frame

Ken got started early today on the bunkhouse and it's looking so good! Between the wood, insulation and electrical I can hardly stand it (the waiting)...!

I made some spaghetti sauce from Cheryl's tomatoes that she brought when they came, so we'll see tomorrow how it turned out.  Tonight we're having her squash with some mushrooms and onions on shish kabob.

I painted the bed frame we bought about 6 months at the antique fair in Fallon..I love it!  The frame reminded me of the bed that was on my Grandma's sleeping porch in Arkansas.  I am a happy camper!  Saturday we're going to the fair again in Fallon..hoping for some bargains!

A little more work on the bunkhouse and the Mazda sold!

Ken woke up with his arm hurting pretty badly.  He's had some pain going on for  a while now and thought maybe it was his rotator cuff (internet searches)..and this was different..some Motrin and off he went to work on the bunkhouse.  Has to baby his arm but you just can't keep him down for any length of time. He did say this am it's not as bad as yesterday.

So he got insulation up and 1 sheet of plywood on a wall of the bunkhouse.  It's coming together nicely.

Tuesday night Ken's phone rang and it was someone asking about the Mazda.  Pretty much we'd given up on selling it and was just waiting for the listing to run out on Craigslist.  Figured the truck was so far down no one would go back 3 weeks or so to find it.  The guy calling was looking for a vehicle for his son and said they'd be over to look at it.  Well, they took it for a test drive and took it by to show it to the son's wife.  They only live a couple of miles from us.  Came back and said they wanted to buy it!  Yay...Ken told them bottom line was $1300...then he remembered the rock pit in the window so took off another $100.  So they said they'd be back in the am to get it and pay for it.  So Wednesday evening we were cautiously optimistic that it really was sold.

Thursday morning about 1030 Sam and his wife Heather showed up to buy the truck, money in hand.  They had moved from Mariposa, CA to Fernley and then to Yerington.  They have 2 small children.  She works at the hospital in Fallon and needed something economical to get her back and forth, as last Friday her car motor blew up..very nice and likable young people.  He doesn't seem afraid of working on the vehicle and had already looked up parts and prices.  So off they went along with the Mazda.

After they left, Ken asked if I minded that he had taken off another $100?  I said not at all, cause I really liked them and probably would have sold it to them for $1000.  Guess that's why we're not really good at selling stuff!  Anyway, that $1200 just about paid for the new to us tractor we'll be picking up in TN!

Ordered Miss Lucy a pair of goggles for quad riding last night.  There is such cute stuff out there for little dogs..big dogs too.

Not too much going on right now.  Seemed so quiet without our company.

Cheryl sent some wonderful veggies from her garden, so tonight Ken's going to grill up a bunch for dinner...I'm hungry already!

A great time with Cheryl, Kim, and Lucy!..

Saturday morning we got up and headed over to Fallon, NV for the annual Cantaloupe Festival.  It's small town like a Country Fair and we really enjoy it..didn't buy anything this time but still a good time!
Of course what would a Country Fair be like without tractors!!

The corn husker machine is always a big hit with the kids...

America!

After that we went to Stockman's Casino for lunch and then headed for home.  Got ourselves ready for Cheryl, Kim and Lucy's visit.

They got here early afternoon and we just visited and enjoyed the rest of the day.  Ken bar b qued some chicken and we enjoyed some wine.
Lucy was ready to go!

Sunday we had breakfast and decided to take the quads to the top of the mountain.  Kim and Cheryl rode and Ken and I followed in the Mazda.  Lucy enjoyed her first ride on a quad.  She is just a cutie and loves Cheryl! She won't let Cheryl out of her sight.

Cheryl took this pic..love it with the flag in the background

Cheryl, Kim and I took a little drive around Yerington and stopped at Scolari's quick.  Ken made his hamburgers for dinner, even Lucy had one.  Made a fire out back after dinner and then called it a night.  These days just go by way too quickly!
Even Lucy got a special burger...

The fire pit...

Today they headed home and Ken and I ran to Lowe's and got some insulation and plywood for the bunkhouse.  Stopped at Pioneer Crossing for their one trip salad bar ($2.95) and then headed home.  Day is done!

Cheryl surprised us with this handmade flag!  Love it!  Ken got it up on the front porch and it looks so good!

Ceiling is done in the Bunkhouse...on to electricity!

Yesterday Ken worked on the bunkhouse ceiling finishing the insulation and the plywood!  Looks awesome!  He got started on the electricity, getting some of the boxes in areas we want receptacles and stringing some of the wiring.  I love it!
The big loft is done!!

Looking from the floor up into the big loft

Blue receptacles..

That one's for our a/c unit..yay!

Electric wire..he kept it to the frot so he can get the insulation behind it..

i finished the curtains and tie backs for the windows..of course if you know me, none of this is going up until the end, because I like to see how the room comes together, not one piece at a time..Ken has other ideas (so we'll see who wins) haha..
The quilt, curtains and tie backs..

Today we'll be home and then tomorrow to the Fallon Cantaloupe Festival..Cheryl and her sister, Kim are coming Sunday until Tuesday.  Lucy too, of course.  We're excited about that!
Cheryl's sister, Kim is making a Christmas quilt (throw size) ...Love it..
Don sent pics of the bounty from the garden! Pretty awesome huh?!!!
